Red State: She Persisted: MTG Gets Woke Jamaal Bowman to Do Something No Other GOPer Could Convince Him to Do
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, a member of the AOC/Democratic Socialists of America wing of the Democratic Party, has once again demonstrated his bombastic and obnoxious behaviour towards Republicans. During an impromptu press conference featuring embattled NY GOP Rep. George Santos, Bowman reportedly screamed so loudly that Santos abandoned the conference. Bowman then confronted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), whom he previously had a meltdown over in April. Greene later complained about Bowman's aggressive behaviour, causing Bowman to claim he was being targeted due to being Black, while fundraising off the accusations. (, )
National Review: Welcome Tim Scott
Senator Tim Scott announced his candidacy for president, aiming to counter the lie that America is evil, declare that it is not a racist country, and celebrate the nation's goodness. Scott's experience growing up poor with an uneducated grandfather who endured Jim Crow laws makes him an optimist who can discuss issues constructively. Although his Reaganesque optimism may not match the current party atmosphere where anger determines their course, Scott's record exhibits a solid conservatism, backed by tax cuts, support for American energy independence, and efforts to secure the border. Nevertheless, his candidacy remains a long shot, lacking public executive experience and the national stage testing, especially in trade, foreign policy, and daily oversight of federal agencies.
The Blaze: Registered Republicans, independents in New York told they are Democrats on voter ID cards after 'human error'
Printing company, Phoenix Graphics, blamed "human error" after approximately 500,000 voters in Nassau County, Long Island, were sent voter identification cards last week with Democrat party affiliation. County officials have confirmed that the official board of elections system was not impacted and that each voter's affiliation remained unchanged. The company is reissuing the cards with an apology and the correct party information.
Newsbusters: AP Warns of 'Far Right' in Red States, But Touts 'Drag Laureates' in San Francisco
The Associated Press has been using the phrase "far-right" to describe conservative governments and politicians. Journalist Drew Holden pointed out that the media did not use the term "far-left" to describe a San Francisco government promoting the LGBTQ+ community. An article from the Associated Press reported on the rise of the "Constitutional Republicans" in Sumner County, Tennessee. As conservative officeholders, they were referred to as "far-right," while liberals were not described with similar phrasing.
National Review: The Corner: Biden Promises Thaw with China
Biden promises China a "thaw" in relations despite critical G-7 statement and spy-balloon incident. Sanctions against Chinese defense minister Li Shangfu to be lifted, a move previously attempted by Trump. China potentially taking advantage of Russia's weakness while highlighting good relations, but also making a bigger diplomatic splash in Russia's old central-Asian playground. US has interest in keeping China-Russia partnership unstable in the long run.
The Epoch Times: Kari Lake Appears Confident as Maricopa Election Trial Ends
Arizona Republican Kari Lake's claims that Maricopa County didn't follow signature verification on hundreds of thousands of early ballots during the November midterms is being judged. The judge Peter Thompson will soon issue a ruling to determine if Lake's lawsuit can be proven. Although county security measures for mail-in ballots involve signing an affidavit, Lake sued to have last year's election thrown out, but results show that she was behind Democrat governor Katie Hobbs by about 17,000 votes. Her attorneys argue that Maricopa County had an overwhelmed system for verifying ballots and that election workers ultimately accepted thousands of previously rejected ballots for having mismatched signatures.
The Epoch Times: Mississauga Mayor Crombie Exploring Possibility of Running for Ontario Liberal Leadership: Source
Former federal MP and current Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie may enter the leadership race for the Ontario Liberal Party. A source close to her office revealed that Crombie has set up an exploratory committee to consider launching a leadership bid. The party has been without a leader since Steven Del Duca resigned from the position following his 2021 campaign during the provincial election that saw the Liberals once again fail to secure official party status in the Ontario Legislature.

Human Events: Muslim protest group disrupts Bollywood screening, claims film
destroys ‘religious harmony’
Muslim protesters disrupt screening of Bollywood film in UK. The protesters claim that the film destroys “religious harmony” as it portrays an Indian state as a center for Islamic terrorism and forced conversions. Muslim group led by Kashmiri activist, Shakeel Afsar, claims that the film is propaganda pushed by Indian government and a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization. The film's teaser trailer has been criticized for a claim that there is no evidence to support. Nevertheless, the filmmakers insist that the film is based on true events and years-long research. The staff at Cineworld where the film was shown put the production on pause, but the film eventually resumed screening.
The Epoch Times: Anaheim Mayor Invites Controversial Trans Nuns Group to Angel Stadium
Anaheim's mayor invited the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group of queer and transgender nuns, banned from the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Pride Night to join her during the Los Angeles Angels' Pride Night. The Dodgers had to disinvite the group after several Catholic organisations, including Senator Marco Rubio, accused the group of regularly denigrating Christians. The LGBT community expressed disappointment at the Dodgers' decision, with the mayor of Anaheim calling for inclusivity.

Euromaidan Press: How Ukraine shaped the battlefiled for its counteroffensive
Ukraine has been building new formations and capabilities to conduct a series of counteroffensives against Russia, focusing on training its troops abroad to enable joint and combined arms operations. It has also built three new army corps, nine mechanized infantry brigades armed with Western-provided equipment, and established eight assault brigades forming its new "Offensive Guard" force. Ukraine's forces lack experienced personnel, but are adaptable, motivated, and intention-based. Ukraine has succeeded where Russia has failed by transforming its armed forces as a reflection of its society, and through international support.
Ukraine has transformed its armed forces to prepare for a protracted war with Russia, shaping the battlefield by striking targets to create conditions for success. It has already achieved many operational and tactical victories, and is actively hunting down Russian artillery. While Ukraine has not received the tools it needs to achieve a decisive win, the forthcoming series of Ukrainian offensives will aim to break the will of Russian soldiers, prepare the battlefield, and destroy critical Russian capabilities, command and control nodes, logistical hubs, and key infrastructure objects. The human factor remains uncertain, but Ukraine is committed to victory.

Forbes: New Immigration Data Point To Larger U.S. Workforce Issues
Foreign-born workers continue to play a vital role in the American economy, with statistics from the Department of Labor showing that in 2022, foreign-born workers accounted for 18.1% of the US civilian labor force, up from 17.4% in 2021. Immigrants improve the labor force participation rate of US-born workers, and do not lead to greater unemployment for US workers. Furthermore, the data points to significant US workforce issues in the years ahead, including the aging of the US workforce and a lack of Americans in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Solutions in STEM fields will include education initiatives.
The Department of Defense identified STEM as a priority industrial base risk and the national STEM shortage exacerbates the need to strengthen organic software expertise. Population growth and labor force growth are connected, with immigrants increasing US-born labor force participation. The presence of foreign domestic workers has helped narrow the gender earnings gap in high-paying powered occupations and have not come at the cost of native-born women investing less time in their children or having lower birth rates. A lack of immigrants can contribute to inflation and harm Americans by reducing their purchasing power. The data highlights the importance of immigration policy in US labor force growth and wider US economic issues.
Foreign Policy: U.S. Apathy Paved the Way for China in Africa
The United States failed to invest in Congo's mineral wealth and mines, allowing China to dominate. A recent article highlights that China owns most of the cobalt mines in Congo, home to the majority of the world's supply of cobalt for batteries. American companies failed to keep up, and some even sold their mines to Chinese counterparts. The West needs to reinvent the way it engages with Africa to have a future in terms of its relations with the continent and compete with China in economically strategic areas such as battery production.
The Epoch Times: McCarthy Thinks Congress Will Quickly Pass Debt Ceiling Deal if Agreement Reached With Biden
Negotiations between President Biden and House Speaker McCarthy over raising the debt ceiling continue with the possibility of Congress approving a deal if they can agree on limits to federal spending. McCarthy believes that a majority of Republicans will follow the agreement; however, some senators, led by Bernie Sanders, want the 14th Amendment invoked to avoid defaulting on the debt. Biden is only negotiating on the provisions of the Republican plan and not on raising the debt limit itself, which he believes is the responsibility of Congress. Talks have restarted several times, with no deal made yet, but negotiations continue to avoid a debt default on or shortly after June 1.

Flag And Cross: Disney's ‘The Little Mermaid’ Reboot Set to Be a Record Flop for Hollywood: Report
Disney's live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid" might flop in China, where pre-sales are reportedly tanking. The movie created controversy when Disney cast black pop singer and actress Halle Bailey in the title role of Ariel, a role that is traditionally portrayed as a blue-eyed, fair-skinned mermaid. The film is expected to be released in the US and other countries on Friday, but Disney has struggled with box office numbers in recent years, in part due to its political activism and push for the LGBT agenda.
