National Review: Nebraska Governor Signs Bill Limiting Abortion and Minor Gender-Transition Treatments
Nebraska has banned abortions after 12 weeks and set limits on gender-transition treatments for minors. Governor Jim Pillen signed the bill, known as the Let Them Grow Act, on Monday, calling it the "most significant win for social conservatives in our state in a generation". Though the bill faced significant opposition, it passed on Friday, with senators on the Democrat side promising to filibuster nearly every bill for the foreseeable future.
PJ Media: The Danger to Canada (and How It Differs from the Danger to the U.S.)
Industrial technologist and army veteran Tex Leugner warns that the danger to Canada comes not from the state-and-media entente, but from the "lazy, unthinking electorate" that is prone to electing corrupt, unpatriotic leaders. Leugner argues that Canadians are moving towards socialism with every generation, leading to a decline in morality, self-reliance, and independent thinking. Many former servicemen agree that Canada is no longer the country they once served.
Constitutional lawyer Leighton Grey points out that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rules above the law according to the feudal principle of Vis et Voluntas, enabling him to violate Charter Rights, suspend parliament, and sabotage the commercial interests of the people. Trudeau's leftist vision and authoritarian personality are gutting Canada, but the complacent electorate continues to support him. The danger to Canada is the people in it.
Fox News: Trump’s Truth Social files $3.78 billion defamation suit against Washington Post
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) files a $3.78 billion defamation lawsuit against the Washington Post, accusing the paper of running a "years-long crusade" against the company. The Epoch Times: Trump Reacts to Sen. Tim Scott's 2024 Presidential Announcement
Former President Trump welcomed Senator Tim Scott to the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary Race, using Scott’s move to target Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Scott's announcement and lack of criticism towards Trump suggests the two are on good terms, however, Trump believes he should have apologized for his racist statements. Scott enters the race with more cash on hand than any other presidential candidate in U.S. history, making him a serious contender, especially in South Carolina.

The New American: Ireland Considers Ditching Neutrality to Enter NATO - The New American
Ireland is to discuss a new partnership framework with NATO, potentially signalling a shift away from the country's neutrality stance, as NATO has voiced criticism of Russia’s possible threat to undersea infrastructure around Ireland. The country’s defense infrastructure is plagued by a lack of ships and personnel, and opposing political views towards NATO could make it hard for Ireland to justify entry. Additionally, Ireland has been working on hate-speech laws that could be used against populists and criminalise material the state deems hateful under the “Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2022.”
Human Events: CHARLIE KIRK: Why doesn’t the NAACP issue ‘travel advisories’ for
Democrat-run cities where black people are routinely gunned down?
The NAACP issued a travel advisory for black Americans, warning them to stay away from Florida. While this is not based on any actual dangers to black people in the state, the NAACP claims that Florida laws curtailing critical race theory and attacking diversity within universities are "hate-inspired" and "devalue and marginalize" black Americans. However, Florida is safer than many Democrat-run cities that experience higher rates of crime against black Americans. If the NAACP truly cared about the well-being of black Americans, they would encourage them to move to Florida for more opportunity and a better life.

Forbes: Author Post: Empathy Leads To Results In The Workplace.
Empathy is an important tool for leaders. It leads to trust which creates an open and productive exchange of ideas leading to commitment and accountability. When a plant manager and operations manager built their expectations on a foundation of dysfunction and zero concern for their staff, it led to union walkouts. But, by creating a culture of empathy, employees and management had a greater understanding of each other's roles and responsibilities leading to the desired results.
Fox News: 'El Popo,' Mexico's second-tallest volcano, erupts
Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano has increased in activity, leading to education authorities suspending in-person classes in parts of three states and the government raising the warning level. PJ Media: State Department Beclowns Itself, Offers Therapy for Employees 'Misgendered' in Email Glitch
The State Department offered free therapy to employees who were "hurt or upset" by a pronoun generator that assigned incorrect pronouns to staff members. Men were mistakenly labeled "she" and women were wrongly dubbed "he". A distraught employee complained the incident was a "distraction" and "a lot of people here have been triggered today." The department is testing a feature that will allow users to include their preferred pronouns in their profile. The feature inadvertently went live and a large number of employees had assigned pronouns added to their profiles. The system was intended to be inclusive and provide options, not make decisions for them.

Fox News: UN urges Sudan's warring generals to honor 7-day cease-fire
Sudan's warring generals have been urged to honor a seven-day cease-fire that started on Monday night to prevent the country from becoming engulfed in a prolonged conflict. Volker Perthes, Sudan's United Nations envoy, warned that the fighting's growing ethnic dimension risks destabilizing the strategically located nation, leading to a greater risk of violence spreading to the region. Fighting in Sudan began on April 15, and the UN Security Council has said that the violence shows no signs of slowing down, despite previous calls for cease-fires from both sides.
Fox News: Ukrainian ambassador welcomes pledges of F-16 fighter jets
Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova welcomes F-16 fighter jets pledged by the US while urging patience for a spring counteroffensive against Russia's full-scale invasion. She emphasizes the importance of the F-16 jets for Ukraine's short and long-term security and claims they need the capacity even after they defeat Russian forces. In her commencement address, she states that Ukraine's decision to fight can inspire others. A strong, successful, democratic, European Ukraine is Russia's worst nightmare.
Fox News: Colombia suspends ceasefire with Marxist rebel group accused of killing 4
Left-wing Colombian President Gustavo Petro's government has suspended its ceasefire with parts of the communist FARC-EMC rebel group after members were accused of killing four Indigenous people — at least three of whom were minors — who refused to join their ranks. The government said the military will resume attacks on factions of the group in certain provinces due to their lack of commitment to the ceasefire. The government will, however, maintain a ceasefire in other parts of the country where attacks on civilians have decreased, and will soon appoint delegates who will lead peace talks with the group.

The Epoch Times: House Committee Recommends Foreign Agent Registry Amid Concerns of Chinese Interference in Canada
A House of Commons committee report is urging the Canadian government to create a foreign agent registry to counter foreign interference from hostile states. Witnesses testifying before the committee emphasized that increased transparency in Canada’s dealings with foreign actors through a registry would enable the public, businesses, school boards, and MPs to make informed decisions about partnerships and to identify potential foreign actors among volunteers, particularly during election campaigns. The registry would require individuals and entities to declare any contracts or remuneration with a hostile state, or any entity affiliated with that hostile state, as determined by the federal government. Former public office holders would also be required to declare their affiliations with hostile states to the registry. The report includes a set of 34 recommendations that reflects growing concerns about Beijing’s “increasingly assertive stance in global affairs, along with its intrusions in the domestic matters of other nations,” especially its comprehensive interference operation in Canada, including its attempts to meddle in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.
The Epoch Times: John Robson: Expect More CSIS Leaks Given Blair’s Inadequate Response to Latest Beijing Interference Allegations
The Trudeau Liberals' blindness to Chinese election meddling is a cause for concern as even former Ontario cabinet minister Michael Chan was reportedly a national-security target of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service because of alleged links to China. Then-public safety and emergency preparedness minister Bill Blair took months to grant CSIS a warrant to monitor Chan's activities, too late to monitor him in the 2021 election. Caught off balance, the Liberals' reaction is outdated and they are spiraling into disaster, ignoring Beijing's subversion. Until they take it seriously, disintegration will continue until Ottawa falls.

The Epoch Times: Over 150 House GOP Members Push Back Against Biden EPA's EV Push, Citing Higher Costs and Chinese Dependence
House Republicans led by Cathy McMorris Rodgers have appealed to the Environmental Protection Agency to withdraw its proposed emissions standards claiming it will lead to a rise in consumer costs, isolate rural Americans, and increase reliance on China. A GOP press release called the emission standards for light and heavy-duty vehicles an "ill-conceived effort" and pointed out how far they are from the current market share, adding they will lead to deliberate market manipulations to help electric vehicles. They alleged a rapid shift to these vehicles would only serve the Chinese Communist Party, as they have control over 50-70% of the global lithium and cobalt refining needed to manufacture EV batteries. Rather than making life easier or more affordable, the EPA standards will make it harder for Americans to afford and buy cars, argued Rogers and her fellow lawmakers.
The Epoch Times: Fed's Kashkari Open to Holding Rates Steady at Next Policy Meeting in June
Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari is open to pausing interest rates at the next policy meeting in June to assess the results of previous rate increases and their impact on U.S. inflation. Forbes: A New Look NCAA Could Mirror NFL, NBA, MLB And Other Pro Sports
The NCAA's prohibition on student athletes being compensated beyond their name, image, and likeness (NIL) has been called into question following a Supreme Court ruling in the O'Bannon case. Boosters have formed "collectives" to provide NIL benefits and face accusations of "pay for play". While legislation and lawsuits seek to enforce payment, the NCAA has only punished member schools. To address the issue and maintain control over member schools, it must proactively partner with student athletes to form a league in which they are compensated and can negotiate standardized contracts. Reinstating "law and order" will secure the future of college sports while acknowledging the significant contributions of student athletes.
Daily Wire: Former ESPN Reporter Slams Network, Brittney Griner, Lia Thomas, And Megan Rapinoe
Former ESPN reporter Charly Arnolt criticized WNBA player Brittney Griner, transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, and retired professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe, whom she claimed supports rights of biological males who identify as transgender to participate in women’s sports. Arnolt, who could not be her true self during her employment with ESPN, called out Griner for using the term "crime" while stating her opinion on not allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports. Arnolt also labeled Thomas a "bigot" for forcing her beliefs on others and entering into women's competition built differently than a woman. Arnolt shared similar views on Rapinoe, who she accused of going against her promotion of equality and women's rights by supporting the participation of biological males in women’s sports.
Fox News: 49ers' disaster in NFC Championship Game leads to new NFL bylaw for 2023 season
The NFL has approved a rule change before the 2023 season allowing teams to have an "emergency" quarterback on game days, after the San Francisco 49ers were plagued with quarterback troubles during their NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles in January. If two active quarterbacks can’t play due to injury or disqualification, the third quarterback can play. Each club may designate one emergency third quarterback who will be eligible to be activated during the game, if the club’s first two quarterbacks on its game day Active List are not able to participate in the game due to injury or disqualification. If one of the two quarterbacks is cleared by the medical staff, the emergency third quarterback must be removed from the game and is not permitted to continue to play quarterback or any other position, but is eligible to return to the game to play quarterback if another emergency third quarterback situation arises.
