PJ Media: Deep State Quietly Starting to Fear the Worst: The Return of the Trump Wrecking Ball
Deep State Quietly Starting to Fear the Worst: The Return of the Trump Wrecking Ball
- Politico reports that reformers who promised to erect guardrails against rogue chief executives after the Trump presidency have largely failed in their efforts. With little being done to reign in what the publication calls Trump's lack of limitations and platform to break norms, there is worry among riggers themselves that a Republican president could somehow win again. This fear has rekindled among those concerned with the state of political reform and the deep state, though there is little evidence as yet that it is penetrable.

- An op-ed posted on PJ Media suggests that American colleges and universities are breeding grounds for unelected bureaucrats who create the rules that govern American life with increasingly stricter regulations. The article reasons that by pumping America's federal agencies full of bureaucrats, members of the 'deep state', a fundamental battle is being played out in which Donald Trump was a key protagonist. Should the Republicans take the White House again, opponents will be more prepared with a grasp of institutional corruption than they were before.

American Thinker: Chicago subway passengers subdue violent, threatening, apparently deranged half-naked man with ‘chokehold’ as security guards stand by
Chicago subway passengers subdue violent, threatening, apparently deranged half-naked man with ‘chokehold’ as security guards stand by
Passengers on Chicago's Blue Line subway subdued a violent man while security guards looked on. The incident was captured on video, and the bystanders' actions have been praised. No arrests were reported, and some speculate that the race of all parties involved and lack of permanent injuries may have played a role. Vigilantism may become more common as civil society crumbles in Democrat-run cities.

Euromaidan Press: Russia adopts new tactic during its missile attacks on Ukraine – UK Intel
Russia adopts new tactic during its missile attacks on Ukraine – UK Intel
Russia has started to use unarmed surveillance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during its deep missile strikes into Ukraine in an attempt to improve its targeting process, according to UK Intelligence. This new tactic may provide more timely battle damage assessment and improve Russia's targeting cycle during missile strikes. However, the use of UAVs does not necessarily signify a significant improvement in its performance, as they are vulnerable to Ukrainian air defenses, according to the intelligence report.

Russia's missile attacks on Ukraine are believed to be primarily aimed at degrading Ukraine's air defenses. The Russian military's slow and inefficient targeting process has been a significant weakness in its performance in Ukraine so far, and the recent integration of surveillance UAVs may be an attempt to address this. However, their use has not improved the situation for Russia because of their vulnerability to attack by Ukrainian air defenses.

The Epoch Times: Hongkongers Held Art Exhibition in Canada to Raise Awareness of the Rights Situation in Hong Kong
Hongkongers Held Art Exhibition in Canada to Raise Awareness of the Rights Situation in Hong Kong
Hong Kong Canadians organized the “Revolution in Color” art exhibition in Toronto on May 13 to showcase artistic expression emphasizing the worsening human rights situation in Hong Kong. The aim was to evoke solidarity and to raise awareness about the CCP’s repression on freedom of speech and press. Over 300 attendees supported the event, and artworks, postcards, and other items were sold to raise funds for the global aid organization Bonham Tree Aid. The event showcased various forms of artwork, including black and white portraits of Hong Kong political figures and a comic series named “Record of Rockfrog War,” aimed at connecting audiences to Hong Kong’s story through art.

Ricker Choi, the event initiator, and artist Perry Sham composed a song called “Inside of Me” inspired by the exhibition’s artwork, expressing the longing and attachment of Hong Kongers in diaspora towards their homeland and their determination to uphold their beliefs. Western attendees of the exhibition expressed regret about the ongoing dismantlement of human rights in Hong Kong and pledged their support for the democratic spirit of the Hong Kong people. The exhibition aims to ensure the spirit of the Hong Kong democracy movement does not die out and continues the creative freedom of Hong Kong residents abroad. The exhibition served to remind attendees that creative freedom persists even under CCP’s repression, and they should not forget its importance in the face of adversity.

The Epoch Times: When You Keep Getting Triggered by the Same Person (Part 2)
When You Keep Getting Triggered by the Same Person (Part 2)
Learning to manage the sometimes-difficult feelings that come up when we're around certain people can be a challenge, but there are ways to stay grounded. One useful practice is to get specific about what feelings and beliefs are being triggered, to cultivate empathy, compassion, and understanding for yourself. Another important step is learning to accept that those big and overwhelming feelings are going to arise, even around people we’d prefer to avoid. Finally, it’s okay to surrender and move on, choosing to stop putting yourself in harm’s way and be fiercely kind to yourself.

Red State: Federal Judge Rules for School Where Trans Student Wanted to Wear Girls' Clothing to Graduation
Federal Judge Rules for School Where Trans Student Wanted to Wear Girls' Clothing to Graduation
A high school student in Mississippi lost a court case against the school dress code when he demanded to wear a dress to his graduation despite the code stating that boys should wear black trousers and white shirts. Despite the fact that the student had worn dresses throughout high school, he lost his legal case. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Women's Rights Project filed the case, which was heard in federal court, on behalf of the student. In a somewhat ironic twist, the ACLU attorney called the decision discriminatory against the transgender boy and his family.
