Fox News: NYT op-ed mocked for dismissing border crisis as fearmongering tactic: 'Reprehensible excuse for journalism'
An op-ed in the New York Times claims that the news surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border, particularly after the expiration of the Title 42 policy, was due to politicization rather than any security concerns. The article claims that Republicans want people to be scared of immigrants and Democrats want people to be scared of Republicans. Biden administration officials noted the border did not experience a predicted "surge" in migrant encounters after Title 42 ended, however, the border still saw more than 10,000 migrants encounters per day leading up to the expiration date, and afterward, the number of crossings dropped by almost 70%.

Red State: NAACP Issues 'Travel Warning' for Florida, Claims State 'Openly Hostile' to African Americans
The NAACP has issued a travel warning against Florida, claiming the state is openly hostile to African Americans and other communities of color. This follows Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to ban the teaching of critical race theory in public schools. The warning highlights the state’s failure to accurately represent African American history and values, but also encourages travelers to advocate for legislation supporting diversity, inclusion, the right to vote, and peaceful protest. The League of United Latin American Citizens has issued a similar warning to illegal immigrants and their families about the potential dangers of the state under DeSantis’ recent immigration legislation.
Newsbusters: ABC's Raddatz Asks: Could GOP Let America Default on Its Debt?
ABC's Martha Raddatz confronted Texas Republican Congressman Jodey Arrington about debt ceiling negotiations on This Week. Raddatz falsely blamed the Republicans for pushing the US to default, despite the fact that President Biden was slow to come to the negotiating table. Arrington set the record straight and pointed out that Republicans passed a debt ceiling proposal and have been the only group doing their job. Speaker Kevin McCarthy revealed that the negotiations could have started earlier but were instead halted by Biden refusing to negotiate for 97 straight days. The negotiation process has been slowed down by Biden and Senate Democrats and the nation is now on the edge of default.
The Epoch Times: Trump Legal Team Responds to Former Member's Claims of Infighting: 'Categorically False'
Timothy Parlatore, who quit Donald Trump's legal team, has accused Boris Epshteyn, a former aide to Trump, of blocking efforts to defend the former president after the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. Parlatore claimed Epshteyn acted as a filter preventing other lawyers from communicating information with Trump. The Trump campaign has denied the allegations, describing them as categorically false.
The FBI raided Mar-a-Lago in August 2022, seizing boxes containing documents, some of which were classified. In April 2023, Trump appeared in court to plead not guilty to falsifying business records related to payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election. A letter from Trump's legal team explained that the mishandling of classified documents was a chronic problem that affected multiple presidential administrations, and called for a legislative solution.

Breitbart: Travel Advisory: Black Americans Warned of 'Open Hostility' in Florida
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a travel advisory warning Black Americans against Florida due to "open hostility" directed at people of color. The group cites Governor Ron DeSantis' recent anti-civil rights measures, including a prohibition on critical race theory instruction in public schools, a ban on an Advanced Placement African American Studies course, and approval of the Constitutional Carry Law. The NAACP's travel advisory follows an advisory issued by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) due to a new immigration law signed in Florida.
Fox News: Ben Crump deletes viral tweet branding pregnant nurse racist after her lawyer steps in
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump deleted a tweet attacking a New York City hospital worker after her lawyer threatened defamation lawsuits. The viral video of a verbal altercation involving a pregnant physician assistant and young Black men sparked outrage. Crump captioned the tweet: "A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat. This is EXACTLY the type of behavior that has endangered so many Black men in the past!" The hospital worker's attorney, Justin Marino, said: "She's been called a racist, a thief. There are reasons defamation laws exist, and we plan to pursue that."

The Economist: Greece’s prime minister wins an election, but lacks a majority
Greece's ruling center-right party has won an election but failed to secure a majority, likely leading to another election in July. The prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is expected to win a second term under a revised proportional voting system in July. The young voters failed to back the left-wing parties due to fear over job prospects, especially after the devastating train accident in February. However, the traditional authoritarian attitudes of right-of-center governments remain a concern for Greeks.
A recent report shows improved military tactics by Russia's army, but Ukraine can still beat them. Meanwhile, Giorgia Meloni's support for Ukraine helps blunt criticism of her domestic agenda. The worrying condition of Europe's largest nuclear-energy site, Zaporizhia, is raising concerns as Russia fails to look after it responsibly.
Euromaidan Press: President Biden considers sending F-16s to Ukraine, Sullivan says
The US will support training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets, but there is no final decision on whether the US will send the jets directly to Ukraine. The US has already provided Ukraine with everything it needs for the upcoming counteroffensive, but Western fighter jets are relevant to Ukraine’s long-term capacity to defend itself.
Breitbart: Putin Should Help IRA Attack Buckingham Palace, TV Pundit Declares
Russian TV pundit Vladimir Rogov suggested that Vladimir Putin should help arm Irish terrorists so they can attack Buckingham Palace. Rogov made the suggestion while on Russian TV show ‘Evening with Vladimir Solovyov’. He said that the move would be ethical and would help provide “self-determination for the Irish” as well as free Scotland. However, there are several issues with this suggestion, the largest of which being that the two major groups who historically used the name “Irish Republican Army” are now defunct. Rogov is not alone in giving Putin wild policy suggestions that are not based in reality, with multiple Russian pundits suggesting that the Russian leader should just bomb everyone who disagrees with him.

The Federalist Papers: Biden Looking to Invoke Constitutional Amendment to Circumvent Negotiations with Republicans
President Biden considers invoking the 14th Amendment to raise the U.S debt ceiling without striking a deal with Congress to avoid default. He is encouraged for negotiations to negotiate a deal to raise the debt ceiling. However, Biden criticized Republicans for actions that could cause a default and is not seriously considering invoking the 14th Amendment. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spoke out against Biden and disagreed on his comment about tax increases, saying he would not agree to it. An expert stated that Congress acting would be the only option where economic damage can be avoided.
The Epoch Times: Despite ‘Philosophical’ Disagreements on Debt Ceiling, Republicans and Biden Can Find ‘Common Ground’: McCarthy
Republicans and President Biden discussed the debt ceiling despite their "philosophical" differences. Biden suggested raising the ceiling unilaterally. Republicans called for spending cuts to control the national debt, which is over $31.4 trillion. Democrats have pushed for a "clean" debt ceiling increase. Both sides remain deadlocked, with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warning that the US could default as early as June 1. Biden accused Republicans of "extreme positions," while Republican leader Kevin McCarthy emphasized cutting spending. The two sides actively seek common ground on the pressing issue.
