NYC Mayor Eric Adams proposes that the federal government should disperse migrants crossing the border to other areas across America instead of burdening one city, stating that the $30 million sent to NYC is insufficient to deal with the "national problem." He believes that all 108,000 cities, villages, towns in the US should take a small portion of incoming migrants, coordinated at the border, to ease the burden on just one city. This comes after Adams began busing migrants to surrounding counties in recent weeks in an attempt to alleviate the severity of the issue in NYC; however, both Rockland and Orange Counties sued to stop the move.

Mass immigration to the US is hurting housing prices for Americans, according to New York Magazine. Although immigration drives higher demand for homes, it also drives up prices. Rather than decrease immigration levels, New York Magazine suggests making mass immigration “work” by increasing legal immigration and adding more housing development through the dismantling of local zoning laws and constructing multi-family complexes in single-family neighborhoods. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal have similarly admitted this issue in recent months.

An illegal alien from El Salvador has been arrested and charged with rape, assault, armed robbery, and kidnapping in Montgomery County, Maryland. Jose Roberto Hernandez Espinal, aged 20, is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and a woman along a hiking trail this month. Espinal crossed the southern border illegally in May 2013 and has not been deported.
