National Review: Democrats Are Making a Crazy Bet
Democrats Are Making a Crazy Bet
Joe Biden's stumble at the G7 summit in Japan highlights the risks of his age and declining physical abilities. If he were to fall, it could be an embarrassing symbol of US decrepitude and a major political event. Democrats are looking away from the enormous risk this represents to their political prospects and Biden's. Biden could take a wrong step at any time, and there’s no guarantee that it would happen on a convenient timetable for Democrats, when they could still go in another direction. Any adverse event would confirm widespread doubts about his capacities and about the wisdom of him running again.

The Blaze: Target faces backlash for selling products from transgender designer promoting violence, drug use, Satanism
Target faces backlash for selling products from transgender designer promoting violence, drug use, Satanism
Target is facing criticism for selling LGBTQ Pride products from a designer, Abprallen, that appears to promote violence, drug use, and Satanism. Abprallen's founder and designer, Erik Callen, claims that the word "groomer" is a "right-wing, transphobic word that is currently being used against trans people who stick up for trans youth." However, Callen's designs appear to promote violence, drug use, and Satanism, including slogans such as "Burn down the cis-tem" and designs that feature axes, guillotines, and pastel-colored maces. They also sell a pin with a ball-and-chain flail weapon that says "We Bash Back" and promotes drug use with a "Poppers open your third eye" pin.

Zelenskyy Denies Ukrainian City of Bakhmut Occupied by Russian Forces
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy cast doubt on Moscow's claim that Russian forces occupied Bakhmut, saying that "Bakhmut is not occupied by the Russian Federation as of today." It's been difficult to confirm the situation due to the fog of war, with a series of comments from Ukrainian and Russian officials adding confusion to the matter. President Biden announced that the United States would provide $375 million more in aid for Ukraine, which included more ammunition, artillery and vehicles at the G-7 summit in Japan.

Forbes: Biden ‘Can’t Guarantee’ GOP Won’t Force Default As Debt Ceiling Deadline Nears
Biden ‘Can’t Guarantee’ GOP Won’t Force Default As Debt Ceiling Deadline Nears
President Biden warns that congressional Republicans may force the U.S. to default on its loans due to uncertain negotiations over raising the debt ceiling, which may result in the Republicans' demands for spending cuts. There is a June 1 deadline to avert a default, which carries worldwide repercussions. If negotiations continue to falter, Biden may invoke an obscure clause in the 14th amendment to continue paying bills. Experts warn that the United States could become unable to pay its bills as early as June 1, triggering an economically catastrophic default.

Spanking New Chicago Mayor's Monstrous Tax Scam Has City's Most Iconic Company Threatening to Leave
Chicago’s new socialist mayor, Brandon Johnson, has proposed taxes that could make it impossible for the city’s iconic Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) to do business. The proposed $800m in new taxes includes a financial transactions tax (FTT) that would impact the buying and selling of assets and potentially cause the CME to leave the city. In response, CME CEO Terry Duffy has warned Johnson about imposing the tax, stating that the exchange is “prepared to leave” and has sold all its property in the city and state of Illinois.

Feinstein, who has been absent from voting due to a case of shingles, has missed at least 93 votes between February and May, but Reed commends her "energy and concentration." Feinstein announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election in 2024. Reed argues that she deserves the opportunity to make a decision about her career, and compares her situation to 100-year-old former senator Strom Thurmond.
