Daily Wire: McCarthy Expects FBI To Share File On Biden Bribery Allegations
McCarthy Expects FBI To Share File On Biden Bribery Allegations
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has spoken with the FBI about a file regarding allegations of bribery against President Joe Biden. Investigators say whistleblower disclosures suggest there is a form filled out by the FBI which describes an alleged influence peddling scheme involving Biden, and a foreign national. Although the FBI has declined to acknowledge the existence of the record and has warned against the release of "unverified or incomplete" information, McCarthy has said that he believes the issue will be solved. Democrats have accused their GOP counterparts of ignoring alleged misconduct by former President Donald Trump, while Republicans continue to search for "dirt" on the Biden family.

Biden ad touting personal accountability resurfaces after claiming he's 'blameless' on debt
President Biden claims he would be "blameless" if the U.S. defaults on its debt since he has done his part. This statement contradicts an ad from his 2020 campaign that criticized former President Trump for shirking responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Republican strategist Matt Whitlock points out Biden's low approval ratings and asserts that he has failed to live up to his campaign promises. Biden accuses "MAGA Republicans" of purposely causing a default to harm the economy before the 2024 election, but he maintains that he would not be to blame based on his proposed actions.

Obama’s Secretary Of Defense Reveals What He Believes Is The Greatest Threat To The U.S.

Gates made these comments during an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” with host Margaret Brennan, deploring the lack of civility among politicians and the continued demonization of those who disagree with them. Gates also believes that leaders in Washington should aspire to work better together, despite being on opposite ends of the aisle.

The New American: Gorsuch Condemns Attacks on Civil Liberties During the Pandemic - The New American
Gorsuch Condemns Attacks on Civil Liberties During the Pandemic - The New American
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch denounced the curtailment of civil liberties during the Covid-19 pandemic, claiming it to be the largest breach of civil liberties in peacetime US history. He criticized emergency decrees issued by state executive officials which suspended state and federal laws and constitutions. Gorsuch also pointed out civil liberties were violated in many forms, including business closures, church closures, surveillance, criminal sanctions, and vaccination mandates. He believes that the fear and desire for safety during the pandemic has caused citizens to disregard the requirement for laws to be adopted by legislative representatives and accept rule by decree.

Gorsuch also criticized the continuation of Title 42, an emergency measure to limit immigration during the pandemic. He thought the Court took an erroneous step when it allowed those uninvolved in the case to prolong an emergency designed to resolve a different crisis entirely. Gorsuch is correct in believing that fear and safety are influential forces in causing citizens to willingly give up their civil liberties. He lamented that people could willingly abandon their cherished civil liberties by acceding to the loss of their freedoms. Gorsuch argued that in the pursuit of safety, citizens should not be willing to do anything needed by their leaders.

Japan, South Korea Leaders Pray at Memorial for Korean Atomic Bomb Victims in Hiroshima
Japanese and South Korean leaders, along with the leaders of guest nations at the G-7 summit, prayed at a memorial for Korean victims of the Hiroshima atomic bombing. The move was part of efforts to rebuild ties between Japan and South Korea that have been repeatedly disrupted due to Japan’s wartime aggression. The leaders also laid flowers and discussed ways to strengthen security cooperation and coordinate responses to the threat of North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes. The visit is seen as an indication of a thaw in relations between the two nations since South Korea announced a local fund to compensate some of Japan’s former labourers in March.

The Epoch Times: Yellen Warns Federal Gov't Likely Won't Pay All of Its Bills by Next Month
Yellen Warns Federal Gov't Likely Won't Pay All of Its Bills by Next Month
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warns federal government can't pay off all its bills before June 15, citing uncertainty about tax receipts and spending. This underscores the urgency to resolve a standoff between the White House and House Republicans to raise the debt ceiling. President Joe Biden has allegedly claimed he has the authority to invoke the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to raise the debt ceiling without Congress, but Yellen and legal experts said invoking the amendment “doesn’t seem like something that could be appropriately used in these circumstances, given the legal uncertainty around it, and given the tight time frame we’re on.”

Sen. Cruz: Biden 'Willing to Tank the Economy' with Debt Ceiling Stalemate
Senator Ted Cruz accuses President Joe Biden of being willing to tank the economy in the debt ceiling debate. Cruz believes that Biden has handed his agenda over to the radical left and is unwilling to compromise. He states that the House of Representatives passed responsible legislation raising the debt ceiling. He adds that a responsible president would have assured that the United States of America would never default on their debts.

Forbes: ExxonMobil, Shell Explode A Pair Of Energy Transition Myths
ExxonMobil, Shell Explode A Pair Of Energy Transition Myths
ExxonMobil disputes the myth of "stranded assets", arguing that the world is not on course to meet the target of net-zero by 2050. The company contends that demand for oil and natural gas products will continue to exist, even if the world reaches the goal, and that society would not accept a reduction in global standard of living. The narrative of stranded assets is not a driver of investment or strategic decision-making inside the industry, according to the company.

Shell Energy Executive Steve Hill declared that projects within Shell's renewable power business must become more profitable or face divestment or defunding. Hill told employees that delivery will be the mandate of the organisation and successful projects would be scaled back or stopped. The move is a part of Shell's strategy to create higher shareholder returns and better compete with peer companies. The company's renewables unit must improve compared to competitors and show financial discipline, according to Shell finance chief, Ingrid Button.

The Imaginative Conservative: Is "Paradise Lost" a Christian Poem?
Is "Paradise Lost" a Christian Poem?
Milton's Paradise Lost succeeds as a poem, but not as a theological piece. Christ is neither Apollonian nor Dionysian. The depiction of God is unbelievable as he is portrayed as a logical and one-dimensional character. In contrast, Satan is given a better literary treatment. Satan is well-composed and is a plausible character. God's interactions fall flat as Milton's attempts to de-mystify the Trinitarian mystery fails. Heaven is the pure domain of God, and one cannot occupy it without Him. Paradise Lost could have worked better if Satan was pitted against St. Gabriel or St. Michael, but no poem can be perfect.

Foods that may help calm seasonal allergies, according to health experts
Experts suggest that certain functional foods and herbs may help with seasonal allergies. Vegetables high in vitamin C, such as Brussels sprouts and red peppers, can help regulate the body's natural inflammatory responses. Stinging nettle leaves, fruits rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, and raw honey with high levels of propolis, have also been found to provide natural relief for many people with seasonal allergies. Quercetin-rich fruits and veggies and kale are well-researched and often recommended for pacifying an overactive histamine response in the immune system.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has unveiled a plan to combat the increasing problem of retail theft in the city. The plan calls for installing kiosks in stores so that thieves can connect with social services programs instead of stealing. Shoplifters would not be prosecuted for their first offense and intervention programs would be set up instead. The plan has been criticized as "pathetically lame" by the New York Post.
