Jeremy Renner, 52, takes a "weight assisted jog" on an antigravity treadmill as part of his recovery after being crushed by a snowplow on Jan. 1 near his Lake Tahoe home. The "Hawkeye" actor suffered chest trauma and broke over 30 bones in the accident in which he attempted to help his nephew move a truck stuck in snow. Renner has remained consistent with various therapies and was recently seen working out at home using a high-tech treadmill.

Shannon Brandt deliberately ran over and killed 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson in North Dakota, claiming the victim was a Republican extremist who was threatening him. He was arrested and released on a $50,000 bond, later admitting to killing Ellingson. Brandt was allowed to plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter, accepting a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Brandon McGlone, a Person of Color™ convicted of setting students on fire at UC Berkeley, has been released from custody without prison time or probation after agreeing to participate in a diversion program for veterans. He was convicted of multiple felonies, including assault and gun charges, and referred to Veterans Treatment Court. If he completes the program, the cases against him will be dismissed. Alameda County Chief Prosecutor Pamela Price, who pledged to bring more racial equality to the office and overhaul the county's justice system, has been criticized by former DA staffers for being condescending and disrespectful to the Asian community in her resignation letter.
