Nebraska passed a bill to ban abortion after 12 weeks and limit gender-transition treatments for minors. National Review: FBI Improperly Surveilled BLM Protesters, J6 Suspects, Thousands of Political Donors
FBI misused warrantless surveillance tool Section 702 against Americans including crime victims, protesters, January 6 suspects and 19,000 donors to a congressional campaign, new court documents reveal. Section 702 enables the FBI to surveil foreigners but can also be used to surveil Americans without a warrant if they are in contact with foreign targets. Despite a significant drop in the FBI’s warrantless searches of US communications in 2022, members of Congress seek reforms. Privacy advocates in both chambers insist that guardrails are necessary amid national security concerns, a situation likely to complicate matters further for the Biden administration.
Fox News: Durham probe shows feds had an agenda, not 'inadvertent sloppiness,' in pursuing Trump: Bill Barr
Former Attorney General Bill Barr claims that the Durham report shows that the investigation into Russiagate was politically biased. Barr noted that there were different standards used for Trump and Clinton-related cases, and that the investigation was not an attempt to stop Russia from meddling in politics, but to prevent Trump from becoming president. Barr claimed that the Durham probe was a "grave injustice" to Trump, and that the evidence shows a "corrupt motive" by those involved.

PJ Media: Woe Upon Woe: Anheuser-Busch Loses Its Gay Badge for Not Standing by Fake Woman Dylan Mulvaney
Sales of Bud Light have dropped by almost 25% since social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney posted a photo of a can featuring a likeness of “her” face in April. Mulvaney is a man who identifies as a woman and promotes himself as a trans advocate. Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch, had been awarded a 100 score by the Human Rights Campaign for its Corporate Equality Index, but was credited with having withdrawn its support for the transgender community after distancing itself from Mulvaney. This led to the company losing its coveted LGBTQ+ rating. Without the badge, Anheuser-Busch could reportedly face boycotts and employee walkouts, among other measures from the establishment Left.
Breitbart: Nolte: Disney Pulls Super-Woke ‘Willow’ Series from Disney+ to Save Money
Disney is removing the "Woke Willow" series from its streaming services to save money, alongside two dozen other shows. Tax benefits and licensing fees may be a factor, but the show's lack of popularity suggests it's not worth the cost and bookkeeping to maintain. The show's focus on a queer relationship was also seen as Disney attempting to prematurely expose children to adult sexuality and groom them, resulting in financial losses for the company.
The Epoch Times: Celebrity Chef José Andrés Exempted From Gas Stove Ban in California City
A California city's ban on gas stoves will not apply to the restaurant of celebrity chef José Andrés. The decision comes after mall operator Simon Property Group warned of legal action if a ban was imposed on the use of gas stove hook-ups at Andrés's restaurant. Palo Alto city officials and the mall have agreed that Andrés's project, Zaytinya, can proceed with gas service, due to years of planning, but the city's all-electric requirement will be implemented in other new project and major refurbishments, a statement said. Andrés's lawyers had argued that plans for his restaurant relied on gas and that his signature cooking would have to change if it was all-electric.

Opposition MPs are calling on Canada's Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair to explain why he took months to approve a surveillance measure against an important liberal party figure in Toronto. MPs from the Conservative Party, Bloc Québécois, and NDP highlighted the issue, stating that Canadians deserve an answer as to why it took so long for the Minister to sign off on the warrant. An application was filed earlier this year for the warrant against Michael Chan, who has ties to the Chinese communist regime, but Blair did not sign off until June. The extent of the surveillance powers that the warrant granted is unclear.

The Epoch Times: There’s a Shortage of Life-Saving Drugs, Experts Are Concerned
Drug shortages have increased to nearly 30% by the end of 2022 which is causing concern among lawmakers that the decades-long problem needs to be resolved. Doctors are struggling to access the medicine they need, giving them difficult ethical decisions over which patients should receive it. The issue of drug shortages is multifactorial, but a contributing factor is that low-profit margins mean manufacturers are less incentivized to invest in process upgrades and haven’t been ensuring the continued manufacture of the drug elsewhere. A solution is required to alleviate drug shortages but neither the industry nor the federal government has end-to-end visibility of the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Pharmaceutical middlemen's controversial practices are also hindering solutions to the drug shortage. These middlemen negotiate drug rebates and fees between pharmaceutical and insurance companies, with too much power that they use to force "race-to-the-bottom" pricing without considering availability or quality. They have grown under scrutiny, and the questionable methods of middlemen have led the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to launch an inquiry investigating their impact on the accessibility and affordability of pharmaceuticals and whether they contribute to drug shortages. While a solution is needed, the FTC inquiry provides insight into the problem but has no set date for when they release their findings.

Fox News: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle: Did they bring security drama on themselves by skipping hotel?
Security expert Mark Selden has suggested Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have benefited from staying at a hotel rather than driving to a private home after being reportedly "chased" by photographers in New York City on Tuesday night. Selden explained that staying in a luxurious hotel such as the iconic Carlyle Hotel would provide the couple with built-in safety measures, thanks to its doorman, porters, and staff, ensuring a safe stay. The hotel is one of the celebrity hotspots in New York City, where Princess Diana and Harry's brother, Prince William, stayed when they visited New York City in 2014.
The Carlyle Hotel in New York City has become a go-to destination for celebrities, the royal family, and political figures over the years. Security experts say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have avoided security trouble such as an alleged dangerous car chase by paparazzi by staying there instead of a private home. Despite the denials of the paparazzi chase and the royal couple's claims, Mark Selden thinks the famous couple would have been better off staying at The Carlyle Hotel, where experts believe it is a perfect "fortress" for a private stay in New York City.

Flag And Cross: Stress Hormones In Human Hair Can Predict The Likelihood Of A Heart Attack In A New Study Found
High levels of stress hormones cortisol and cortisone in hair can predict the likelihood of a person suffering from a heart attack or stroke, according to a study of over 6,000 participants in the Netherlands. Those with high levels of the hormones are twice as likely to experience cardiovascular disease in their lifetime, rising to over three times for those aged 57 or younger. Cortisol and cortisone affect the body’s metabolism and fat distribution. While their effect on long-term cardiovascular disease is not fully known, the study analysed levels from hair samples to determine the relationship between the hormones and heart attacks or strokes.
The Epoch Times: Fired Alberta Physician Tells National Citizen's Inquiry Ivermectin Saved Patients From COVID-19
Dr. Daniel Nagase testified at the National Citizen's Inquiry that three of his COVID-19 patients recovered soon after he gave them ivermectin, for which he was dismissed from his job and prevented from practicing medicine in Alberta. The inquiry examines how government pandemic measures impacted Canadians in four categories: health, fundamental rights and freedoms, social well-being, and economic prosperity. Health Canada has not authorized ivermectin's use to prevent or treat COVID-19. Alberta Health Service filed a complaint against Nagase and put restrictions on his practice, even as medical negligence, including the improper use of ventilators and harmful medication, remain uninvestigated.

The Epoch Times: House Bill Would Help Farmers Get Soil Data From Satellites
The Precision Agriculture Satellite Connectivity Act, which was overwhelmingly adopted by the House in April, aims to help farmers increase crop yields and environmentally sustainable practices using satellite and AI technology. Satellites and AI can provide farmers with valuable data for decision-making, such as identifying when and where to irrigate, plant or fertilize crops. Additionally, precision agriculture can help mitigate weather challenges by using high-resolution imagery from satellites, after which AI algorithms can analyze and make recommendations. If approved by the Senate, the bill will be included in the 2023 Farm Bill update.
