The University of California regents unanimously agreed to find a pathway to hire students without legal status and work permits, in violation of federal law. UCLA law scholars argue that employer sanctions under federal law do not apply to the states and UC as a state entity. The regents formed a working group to examine the legal issue and practical considerations.

Foreign Policy: Hungary’s Plan to Build an Army of American Intellectuals
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has invested billions of dollars in Hungarian conservative foundations to fight accusations of democratic erosion and authoritarianism. American conservatives, including writer Rod Dreher, who spend time in Hungary at the expense of government-funded institutes and foundations, have become vocal defenders of Orban. Their pilgrimage is a government policy that aims to establish a deep state of conservative institutions that can remain even when Orban or his party are no longer in power. The strategy seems to be working, as Orban's popularity among American conservatives has skyrocketed, particularly after former Fox News host Tucker Carlson presented his show directly from Budapest for a week in 2021.
As Hungary grapples with a demographic crisis, the government has used aggressive public policies to stimulate families to have more children. These policies have become a flagship of the government, including the Family Support Program, which exempts mothers under the age of 30 from paying personal income tax. Critics say that these policies prioritize the working middle class and offer an income lower than the minimum wage, making citizens too dependent on local power. Hungary's conservative government, anchored in anti-immigration, anti-wokeness, and anti-liberal discourses, has become a model for American conservatives aligned with agendas dear to the global right.
The Federalist: Defending Law And Order Is Social Justice
The New York Times' Jamelle Bouie argues against citizens defending themselves and others, in response to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis calling Daniel Penny a Good Samaritan. Bouie's attempt to use Jesus' parable as evidence of a sickness that festers in too many American hearts is misplaced, as law and order are prerequisites for any positive vision for America. Public transportation provides a clear example, and allowing the mentally ill to use public places and transit as a free-range homeless shelter is destructive of public trust and well-being. Jesus did not tell the parable of the Good Samaritan to teach us to stand by and do nothing while others are threatened and attacked.

The Federalist: Anencephalic Children Give And Receive Love Like The Rest Of Us
Anencephaly, a severe brain malformation that results in developmental issues, needs more awareness during Anencephaly Awareness Month. A midwife who wrote a letter to Harry Oxorn asking why medical textbooks contained the term "monster" to describe babies with anencephaly is one of the reasons we can give more love to these children. It is us that become monsters when we cannot recognize the humanity of another. In regards to anencephalic children, they may not be in this world for long, but even in the briefest of lives, they make this world a better place.

Front Page Magazine: Anti-Israel Activist Arrested for Vandalizing Michigan Synagogue
Randi Nord, a far-left writer known for her deranged antisemitism, has been charged for spray-painting antisemitic graffiti on a Jewish center in Detroit. The graffiti included a swastika and the letters "AZOV," which are related to a pro-Nazi Ukrainian militia. Nord was charged with ethnic intimidation and malicious destruction of property, and her articles have appeared on far-left site MintPress News, founded by a "Palestinian Muslim activist" known for her criticism of America. The site features the likes of Max Blumenthal and Miki Peled, and it openly supports Hamas. However, left-wing media are unlikely to directly connect Nord's actions with her extremist views.

Fox News: Meet the American who unlocked the science of gender, Nettie Stevens, female research pioneer
Nettie Stevens, a pioneering cytogeneticist and researcher at Bryn Mawr College, discovered in 1905 that sex is determined by chromosomes. Stevens found that females are born with a pair of XX chromosomes, inheriting an X from both the mother and father. Males are born with XY chromosomes; the X is from the mother, the Y from the father.
Stevens further discovered that the determinant X or Y chromosome was passed through the father. She found that the same chromosomal factors determine gender across most other species, including humans. Stevens' groundbreaking discovery revolutionized the burgeoning field of genetics at the turn of the 20th century, where environmental factors were still the leading theories behind gender determination.
