Fox News: 57 House Republicans demand debt limit talks include crackdown on illegal immigrants
57 House Republicans demand debt limit talks include crackdown on illegal immigrants
Nearly 60 conservative Republican lawmakers are calling on debt limit negotiators to include border security in talks to raise the debt ceiling, citing the "inextricable" link between border security and the fiscal security of the nation. The Republicans also argue American taxpayers should not pay for the growing illegal immigration crisis and called for sound border security measures to be considered as part of negotiations. Democrats are finding the GOP's debt limit bill hard to accept, with just weeks to strike a deal to prevent a potentially devastating financial crisis.

Georgia Prosecutor Signals Possible August Timeline for Indictments in Trump Probe
Grand jury indictments in the investigation of possible illegal interference by former President Donald Trump and others in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election may come in August, according to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. In a letter to the county’s chief judge, Willis requested that no trials or in-person hearings be scheduled for some weeks in August, citing safety concerns. Willis has been investigating whether a January 2021 phone call in which Trump asked Georgia’s secretary of state to investigate voter fraud, and the actions of other Trump allies following the election, amounted to unlawful election interference.

Report: Nancy Pelosi may be using her daughter to stop Feinstein from resigning to help Adam Schiff win Senate seat
Nancy Pelosi has been supporting Sen. Dianne Feinstein amidst calls for her resignation. It has been revealed that Pelosi's eldest child has been caring for Feinstein following her battle with shingles. However, some suggest Pelosi's motive may be political, as she has endorsed Rep. Adam Schiff to succeed Feinstein, but if she resigns, Gov. Gavin Newsom would most likely pick Rep. Barbara Lee, who is also running for Feinstein's seat and would become the first black woman senator. Pelosi denies having ulterior motives.

The Epoch Times: Reform the Intel Community, End STASI Tactics
Reform the Intel Community, End STASI Tactics
The U.S. intelligence community interfered in the 2016 and 2020 elections to support the Democratic Party, making it a threat to liberal democracy. The community should not copy the nefarious activities of past spy agencies or serve a particular political party. Civil servants in the CIA, FBI, NSA, etc., must check their politics at the door when doing their jobs. The STASIfication of the U.S. intelligence community undermines democracy, making an informed and educated populace necessary. Congress must take steps to criminalize such activities and repeal the PATRIOT Act. Warrantless searches of social media should also be criminalized, and due process of law and the presumption of innocence restored.

DeSantis' political team lashes out at 'dishonest' pro-Trump PAC ad that claims DeSantis tried to raise taxes
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's political team is criticizing a new ad by a super PAC backing former President Trump's 2024 campaign. The ad accuses DeSantis of backing a national sales tax and a "23% tax hike" during his tenure in Congress. Though DeSantis supported a bill that proposed introducing a 23% federal sales tax, all other federal taxes, including the income tax, would have been eliminated if the bill had passed.

DeSantis, who has been serving as Florida governor since January 2019, is expected to officially enter the 2024 race for the White House next week. Sources familiar with DeSantis's decision have confirmed that he will file formal paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to declare his candidacy for president. According to a statement from his press secretary, DeSantis supported the concept of a Fair Tax, a plan to lower the overall tax burden on an individual by replacing all federal taxes with one lower tax and ending the IRS when representing Florida's 6th Congressional District from 2013 to 2018.

US Military Reassessing Whether It Killed Civilian Or Senior Al Qaeda Leader
Lotfi Hassan Misto, a retired bricklayer, was allegedly killed by a U.S. drone on May 3, 2022 in northwest Syria while he was leading a flock of sheep to graze in the outskirts of Qorqanya. Misto's killing, however, calls into question Central Command's claims, as the military command has yet to confirm the identity of the targeted leader. Misto's family has claimed that he was killed by the U.S. airstrike, and CENTCOM has since stated that it is investigating reports of civilian harm.

After Boasting it Stopped Sabotage, Russia Again Hit With Railway Bomb
An explosion destroyed a stretch of railway on a line connecting Sevastopol to Russia's hinterland in Crimea, causing eight rail cars to plunge off an embankment. Footage on social media shows grain spilling out of the wagons as workers clear the line. The explosion is believed to have occurred due to a bomb blast placed under the train, and while the cause is yet to be established, reports suggest that Ukrainian saboteurs may be behind the blast. Over 160 feet of track is said to be destroyed, with the line totally blocked. The line has significant strategic importance as it supplies weapons to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, and it traces back to the territory of Ukraine.

Amid Ukraine's push for used F-16 fighter jets to strengthen air defense, the US has agreed to support a European-led initiative to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the aircraft. Belgium, Denmark, and Norway are also willing to supply F-16s, but the region with the largest number of F-16s is Israel with an estimated 362, followed by Turkey and Egypt. However, given Ukraine's request for air defense from Israel last year, and Israel's political and strategic ties with Russia, it may prove highly unwilling to give or sell its F-16s.

However, some companies have tested a four-day workweek and decided to switch, but those firms are not a random sample and mandating it does not mean all workers would gain from it. Fed's Jerome Powell Says Rates May Not Have to Rise Amid Credit Crunch
The Federal Reserve's Powell stated that the policy rate may not need to rise as much due to tighter credit conditions and the latest banking turmoil that could impede economic growth and inflation, thus leading to potential 'downside risks.' Despite disagreement on the rate path, the futures market expects the Federal Reserve to pause at the next meeting, with most investors anticipating the Fed to leave rates in the 5.00 and 5.25 percentage range and could cut rates as early as November. International supply chains have drastically improved from a year ago, and the economy may witness more supply shocks in the future, but it might be challenging to forecast with confidence according to Powell.

Air Force To Navy On Drag Queens: Hold My Bud Light
The Department of the Air Force has authorized its bases to hold celebrations "in honor of Pride Month" to commemorate the contributions of LGBTQ+ Americans. The decision came days after the Navy used a drag queen to recruit new sailors into service. The authorization empowers Air Force installation commanders to plan and conduct "appropriate activities" on bases to celebrate Pride Month. Efforts to organize Air Force-sanctioned Pride Month celebrations are already underway, including events like "Pride Game Night," a "Unity in Diversity" color run, and a panel discussion titled "Our History, Our Time!" This year's commemoration is not the first time the Air Force appeased "rainbow everything" obsessions. The Air Force hosted almost 70 Pride celebrations last year, which several high-ranking officials attended.

FDA Advisers Back Maternal RSV Vaccine as Pfizer Says Safety Concerns Can be Studied Post-Approval
The US FDA advisory committee has voted in support of Pfizer's maternal RSV vaccine despite concerns over premature births. The vaccine, which is a recombinant protein subunit shot, targets the RSV A and RSV B subgroups and aims to provide protection against RSV to fetuses that lasts through their first year of life. Although data from two trials run by Pfizer showed that the vaccine was effective at preventing RSV disease in infants, multiple experts raised concerns over the risk of the vaccine causing premature births, a risk also found in a similar product made by GlaxoSmithKline. The FDA staff stated that there was “potential uncertainty” regarding premature births, but Pfizer executives argued that the vaccine has important differences from the GlaxoSmithKline product.

The Epoch Times: Study Reveals 'Super Bacteria' in 40 Percent of Supermarket Meat, Doctor Recommends This Tip
Study Reveals 'Super Bacteria' in 40 Percent of Supermarket Meat, Doctor Recommends This Tip
A Spanish study found that 40% of meat products sold in supermarkets contain bacteria resistant to multiple drugs. Multidrug-resistant bacteria can be transmitted from animals to humans through the food chain, and the WHO reports that drug-resistant diseases claim at least 700,000 lives annually. Doctors recommend that consumers educate themselves on the risks of contaminated meat, opt for organic meat free of antibiotics, and avoid thawing meat more than once. It is recommended to thaw only what is needed in order to avoid the growth of bacteria.

The Spanish researchers analyzed 100 meat products and found that 40% of them contained multidrug-resistant E. coli. The most resistant bacteria was present in turkey, followed by chicken, beef, and pork. The researchers recommended routine evaluation of the prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in meat products. Bacteria can grow in meat when animals are slaughtered, and raw meat is vulnerable to bacterial contamination from intestines. It is important to cook all meat thoroughly until the color changes, and buyers should prioritize food safety. Consumers can prevent contamination by understanding the meat grading system, noting the expiration date, selecting the appropriate type of meat, and verifying the meat’s slaughter date.

The Epoch Times: Release the Manifesto
Release the Manifesto
A transgender individual shot up a Christian elementary school in Nashville, killing three adults and three children. The shooting appears to be an ideologically motivated anti-Christian hate crime, an act of domestic terrorism. The shooter left behind a manifesto, which has not been released amid pressure from transgender activists, leading to legal battles to force its release. This is due to the powerful political force of the gender ideology lobby in the Democratic Party, making Christophobia one of the few remaining acceptable forms of animus in the United States. Justice requires the release of the manifesto and a toxicology report.

The paper's agenda-setting coverage has overwhelmingly focused on promoting the trans cause, but critical voices, including Chloe Cole, a girl who detransitioned after getting a double mastectomy aged 15, have now come to conservative lawmakers' attention and are being used by them. While the Times writer played down the number of activists who regret changing sex, they have had a disproportionate effect on policy, with lawmakers using their testimonies to override objections from medical experts and trans-rights activists.
