The Epoch Times: Visa System Loophole Sees Fake Students Flood in to Work Illegally
Criminal groups are exploiting Australia's weak visa systems to bring in fake students who work illegally, including in the sex industry, according to a review by former Victoria police chief, Christine Nixon. Educational agents, paid by tertiary institutions to recruit foreign students, are unregulated and should be overseen, Nixon found. The Australia Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) was focused on education outcomes, not "deterring and disrupting visa exploitation", and a criminal network owned colleges and employment agencies to enable the sex trafficking of at least 128 workers. The federal government has allocated AU $50m in funding to mitigate border security gaps.
Australia's lucrative education industry is vulnerable to abuse by criminal groups, according to a review by former Victoria police chief, Christine Nixon. The report found that educational agents are unregulated and paid to recruit foreign students, many of whom work in the country illegally, including in the sex industry. Criminal groups have used family ties and business co-ownership to bring in fake students and exploit their attendance and course progress. The federal government has allocated AU $50m in funding to mitigate border security gaps. The report recommended mandatory background checks for immigration agents to prevent unscrupulous operators entering the industry.

Front Page Magazine: Your Tax Dollars at Work: When the FBI Isn’t Framing Presidents.....
The FBI faces criticism for its role in the Russian Collusion hoax, but instead of introspection and housecleaning, it has scheduled a “Happiness Seminar” to teach agents how to smile. Senator Lindsey Graham called the Durham Report a damning indictment of the FBI, with behavior that reads like a page out of the Nixon playbook. However, this is worse than anything Nixon did and is a tremendous miscarriage of justice perpetrated by Democrats. The FBI is “woke and weaponized,” according to FBI whistleblower Steve Friend, who tweeted the poster for the Happiness Seminar. The seminar will feature “the effects of smiling,” “the effects of speaking good words,” and “the effects of doing good deeds,” reinforcing allegations that the FBI is now an establishment, controlled opposition organization.

Front Page Magazine: CNN International Host Isa Soares Blames Israel For Human Shields
CNN's Isa Soares blamed Israel for the use of human shields by Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), during an interview with former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on May 10, 2023. Soares' comments feed into the narrative that terrorist organizations like Hamas have sought to create. It is the PIJ that puts its own civilians, especially children, in harm’s way. It is Israel that recognizes its responsibility to minimize civilian casualties, and does so by halting missions if, in the opinion of the pilots involved, the number of civilian deaths is likely to be unacceptably large.

The G-7 seeks to align its policies with countries like India, parts of Africa, and the ASEAN economic bloc in Asia.

Forbes: What’s In A New Regulation Targeting For-Profit Colleges, Trade Schools
The University of Idaho will acquire the University of Phoenix and manage it as a fully-online nonprofit entity going forward. The Biden administration's proposed Gainful Employment rule would deny federal funding to certain higher education programs where graduates’ debts are too high or their earnings are too low. However, the rule only applies to for-profit institutions and certificate programs, meaning that Phoenix, which will be exempt as a nonprofit, will maintain access to federal grants and loans even if their outcomes don’t change.

Front Page Magazine: Capitalism Works: Toronto’s ‘Anti-Capitalist Cafe’ Shuts Down
The Anarchist Café in Toronto, an "anti-capitalist" establishment, is closing after failing to attract customers due to its tiresome agitprop. The owner, Gabriel Sims-Fewer, admits the inherent contradiction of Communism by blaming the lack of seed capital from "ethically bankrupt sources" for its demise. In the Communist state Sims-Fewer dreams of, the grim establishment would have been forced on the populace, but in Toronto, people voted with their feet and the café is closing.
