Fox News: Newsom's California reparations panel is a disaster all Black Americans should reject
California's proposal for cash reparations of up to $1.2 million per person for historic injustices has turned out to be a political liability for Governor Gavin Newsom. The proposal by the reparations task force, estimated to cost around $800 billion, would give state power to micromanage municipal real estate ordinances, based on bureaucrats' belief on what would best promote diversity, and is considered disastrous. Despite the belief that reparations could uplift the Black community, it is not considered the answer, and opportunity to break the cycle of poverty is deemed more important.
Front Page Magazine: The Dirty Money Behind the Lynching of Clarence Thomas
Leftist nonprofit ProPublica is behind the smear campaign against Justice Clarence Thomas, with its articles rebroadcast by the media whilst his detractors call for him to resign to make way for a Biden appointee. The money behind ProPublica's campaigns is tied to some of the worst financial abuses in recent history, such as that of Sam Bankman-Fried who collapsed FTX, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, helping bring down Silicon Valley Bank and causing the worst wave of bank failures since the Wachovia collapse. ProPublica's leading supporters include hedge fund, private equity and venture capital figures, raising questions around their financial interests, while it has received funding from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which raises legal and ethical concerns.

Texans express concerns over the impact of AI on jobs and potential risks like identity theft and racial bias. While some are optimistic that people will find new avenues for work and that AI can be used to combat bad actors, others worry about the potential loss of jobs and disruption to the global labor market. As AI technologies continue to rapidly evolve, legal and ethical disputes have emerged across industries worldwide, with experts warning of the many risks and potential benefits of AI. The impact of AI is a major concern for many Americans as the technology could potentially replace up to 80% of human jobs.
Fox News: AI-powered RoboTire can change 4 tires twice as fast as a human
RoboTire, an artificial intelligence-driven robot tire-changing technology, can change a car's four tires two to three times faster than a human laborer. Developed by Michigan-based RoboTire, the machine vision identifies the wheels and guides the robot arms to unscrew the nuts or lug bolts, the wheels and tires come off and are then passed onto the Hunter tire-changing machine which sets the tire swap in motion. A human tech still manages the transition from the changer to ensure a smooth operation, but RoboTire is working towards full automation. It takes only 23 minutes to complete the process and it's getting faster all the time as the robot arm continues to learn through AI.
Fox News: What is Auto-GPT? Another step in advancement of AI
Auto-GPT is a new AI tool that is more advanced than ChatGPT and Google Bard. It is closer to creating "strong AI" and can create full programs with very little human involvement. Auto-GPT is more complicated to use, but is able to perform a large variety of tasks on its own, including creating prompts as it works towards a finished product. Auto-GPT is not free and requires a paid OpenAI account to use. It can be accessed through GitHub, but users need specialized software that runs Python code to install and use it.

The Epoch Times: Aussie Business Groups Say Federal Labor’s Workforce Reforms Will Have Ramifications for Economy
The proposed “same job, same pay” labour-hire laws in Australia have faced criticism from business and industry groups. Under the Fair Work Amendment Bill 2021, all workers in labour-hire firms will receive the same wage as those employed directly, potentially resulting in workforce shortages, more than AUD 4m in fines for employers who breach workplace laws, and reduced working conditions. However, Urban Body Says Employers Caught Out Pushing Wages Down. The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) has accused employers of attempting to push down wages via labour-hire companies, while business groups have warned that the proposal would lead to “confusing and unproductive changes” to workplace relations.
Fox News: Wuhan University rule-breaking with AI-controlled satellite experiments: experts
Chinese researchers allegedly handed over control of an Earth observation satellite to an AI program for 24 hours in an experiment which experts warn shows how far ahead China is in AI technology. The satellite identified a number of locations on Earth to make closer observations, including an ancient city in northeast India and the Japanese port city of Osaka. China’s Communist Party has no regulations on the technology other than to ensure that AI isn't used to undermine its rule. Experts argue that it gives China an edge in an area the US needs to develop faster.
Matt McInnis, a senior fellow for the Institute for the Study of War's China Program, believes China is investing heavily in AI to transform its military and surpass the US. "AI that's going to be part of that additive intensification of targets", he said. Every major company operates satellites with some level of automation but it is believed that China is developing "AI that they can trust and be able to control".
Fox News: AI ‘voice clone’ scams increasingly hitting elderly Americans, senators warn
Senators are calling on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to protect the elderly from scammers who use AI-generated voices and chatbots to scam targeted individuals. Voice clones allow the scammers to replicate the voice of loved ones and friends. AI also makes it easier to scam the elderly, who are particularly vulnerable to these scams. Industry leaders are inviting more federal oversight, and Senator Braun predicts that Washington will take up more regulatory efforts in the future on AI. The FTC has made it clear that it will use its authority to protect consumers from AI whenever possible, and the Senate letter suggested updating educational and awareness materials to help seniors understand AI-generated scams.
