Townhall: Millions of Americans are About to Become Felons
Millions of Americans are About to Become Felons
President Biden's ATF is set to turn millions of Americans into felons overnight with a new rule that targets firearms utilizing a brace. These attachments, originally designed to aid disabled veterans, don't enhance the lethality of firearms, but have become popular among gun enthusiasts. Gun Owners of America and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton have teamed up to challenge the rule in federal court, but Congress also has the power to nullify it. The rule casts a wide net and could subject existing owners to felony charges carrying a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

Townhall: A Continuum of Hate
A Continuum of Hate
Believers in biblical principles risk losing their jobs and being ostracized by family and friends for articulating their beliefs. This hostility towards biblical Christianity is not new, as believers have faced intimidation and persecution for 2,000 years. The Bible proclaims individual liberty and fidelity to God above all, which is a threat to those in power, making biblical beliefs vociferously opposed by the civic power structure.

The Bible promotes fundamental liberties like freedom of conscience, maintaining separate church and civic institutions, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press. Armed only with a Bible, Martin Luther championed radical ideas about personal liberty, which threatened the European theocracy. Those who demand fealty to man instead of God see biblical principles and believers as an impediment, and attacks on these beliefs continue today. The best defense is to unapologetically promote individual liberty through biblical principles.

The American Spectator: ‘Conversion Therapy’ in Supreme Court’s Dock in Tingley v. Ferguson
‘Conversion Therapy’ in Supreme Court’s Dock in Tingley v. Ferguson
Brian Tingley challenges a discriminatory law in Washington state, arguing that it violates his rights to free speech and religious liberty. The law bans conversion therapy, which guides a minor patient to embrace their biological sex when they experience gender confusion. Tingley believes that biological sex determines whether someone is a man or woman and that people should embrace their God-given identity. The case raises questions about whether speech can be transformed into conduct and whether states can regulate speech under the guise of professional conduct. The issue of conversion therapy poses a challenge to the left's quest to destroy the nuclear family.

Townhall: Congress Should Not Accommodate OpenAI’s Regulatory Requests
Congress Should Not Accommodate OpenAI’s Regulatory Requests
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's recent testimony to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law called for regulation of AI, citing potential dangers such as job losses or misinformation. However, Congress must be cautious not to overregulate and bolster Altman's company's position to the detriment of the industry and consumers. Strict rules could increase barriers to competition and allow large companies to use regulation as a weapon against competitors. An AI regulatory office modeled after the Nuclear Regulatory Commission could slow innovation in the industry and delay benefits consumers could receive from the technology.
