Fox News: Nebraska lawmakers expected to pass bill combining youth gender surgery ban with 12-week abortion ban
Conservative lawmakers in Nebraska aim to pass a bill that would ban gender surgeries for minors and impose a 12-week abortion ban. Democrats are protesting the bill, with Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh leading efforts to filibuster every bill, even those she supports, to prevent the ban on gender surgeries for minors. Lawmakers are expected to have just enough votes to pass the bill, leading to heated debates and protests.
National Review: What’s Really ‘Deplorable’ in Our Politics
The divide in American politics can be boiled down to one question: are Republican voters bad, irrational people? The anti-populist view of middle Americans is just a native version of Islamophobia. Rather than denouncing Trump supporters as irrational beasts, anti-populists should study what worked for Trump and try to find an economic appeal to downwardly mobile white men. The electorate tries to vote for what they believe is best for the country.
Fox News: Jake Sullivan served on a national security board with Hunter Biden for 2 years, raising questions for GOP
Hunter Biden and Jake Sullivan, President Biden's national security adviser, served together on the board of a liberal foreign policy think tank called the Truman National Security Project for two years before Sullivan joined Biden's campaign. During this time, Hunter was also serving on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and the Chinese private equity fund BHR Partners. It was during this time frame that the federal investigation into Hunter's foreign business dealings was launched in 2018. Sullivan also had multiple roles with Hillary Clinton, including chief foreign policy adviser during her failed 2016 presidential campaign; he was accused of pushing the Trump-Russia collusion narrative during this time.
Senators Marsha Blackburn and Josh Hawley have accused Sullivan of repeatedly lying for perceived political gain, calling for his resignation. It has been revealed that Sullivan was involved in the effort to push the Trump-Russia collusion hoax while serving as a top adviser during Clinton's campaign. Sullivan denied allegations made by former White House official Mike McCormick that he was a conspirator in the Biden family's "kickback scheme" in Ukraine when Biden was vice president.
Fox News: Minnesota DFL committee approves laws to permanently ban anyone who engages in violence
The Democratic Farmer Labor Party in Minnesota has tentatively passed bylaws to ban "engagement, incitement, or conscious condoning" of violence in party activities, after chaos at a Minneapolis City Council endorsing convention over the weekend. Video footage shows that violence arose when the supporters of incumbent Aisha Chughtai took the stage and Nasri Warsame's backers rioted. Two people were injured and the convention ended without an endorsement. Pending further approval, Warsame will be barred from running with the party's support in the future.

Forbes: What Is Juneteenth? Everything You Need To Know About America’s Newest National Holiday
Juneteenth, the American holiday to celebrate the end of enslavement, will go into full-scale celebrations this year due to the coronavirus no longer needed to be a national emergency. It is celebrated on June 19, and marks the day in 1865 when Union Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 in Galveston, Texas, emancipating the remaining enslaved people in the state. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021, a year after major protests following George Floyd's death, and is celebrated with various events across the United States.
Townhall: The Unsung Heroes of Texas: A Salute to Our Law Enforcement During Police Week
Police Week is a time to honor the sacrifices made by law enforcement officials in Texas. They play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our communities, facing challenges from tackling violent crimes to combating illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The "defund the police" movement threatens the ability of law enforcement professionals to effectively protect our communities, and we must support them by providing resources, fair compensation and benefits, and mental health programs. We must stand united in our support for these brave men and women during these trying times.
Flag And Cross: Fact Check: Ford Announced Pro-LGBT 'Very Gay Raptor' Truck
Ford's brand has been compared to the "Bud Light of trucks" due to their promotion of the rainbow flag-bedecked "Very Gay Raptor" truck. However, this truck was actually created in 2021 as a response to a negative comment on social media. Ford touted the truck at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year where it gained positive attention from its LGBTQ+ allyship. The recent Bud Light campaign has caused the "Very Gay Raptor" to seem like a "Very Bad Idea," particularly for a company struggling in other areas at present that has to sell the Ford Ranger Raptor.
Red State: Iconic Gun Brand's Rep Tweets Her Way Into Bud Light Territory, Company Reverses Course Fast as a Six-Shooter
Firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch's Twitter account recently criticized Miller Lite's ad that decried the use of bikini-clad girls to sell beer, only to backtrack and delete the tweets the next day. The employee running the account had previously bashed the marketing strategy of using a pistol in a 'bikini model's' hand, but the tweets took shots at "gun bunnies" and "beer bunnies," while promoting "supporting women." This incident is an example of why companies should stay out of social commentary.

Human Events: US military says al-Qaeda leader may not have been killed in
‘Hellfire’ missile strike in Syria

However, they have not disclosed the name of the actual target or provided details on how the error occurred.
The Epoch Times: Lawmakers Press Pentagon for Answers Over Terrorist Attack in Afghanistan That Killed 13 US Troops
House Republicans are pressing the Pentagon for answers about the terrorist attack in Kabul in 2021 that killed 13 US troops and at least 169 Afghan civilians. Marine Sergeant Tyler Vargas-Andrews testified to Congress that his sniper team's leadership failed to eliminate the suicide bomber responsible for the attack due to uncertainty about who had the authority to approve or deny engagement. Republicans have written to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley requesting documents and details to learn whether events were avoidable. Among other requests, Pentagon officials were asked to produce all documents and communications referencing or relating to the events at the Abbey Gate on Aug. 26, 2021.
Separately, ISIS claimed responsibility for the Kabul airport attack, marking the first U.S. military combat-related deaths in Afghanistan since February 2020. Following the attack, the US military launched a drone strike that killed at least 10 innocent civilians, including seven children. The attack occurred during a rush to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan, marking an end to a nearly 20-year-long war. Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban terrorist group on Aug. 15, 2021.

Breitbart: Blue State Blues: Journalists Don't Ask Jake Sullivan About the Russia Hoax
Jake Sullivan, the White House National Security Advisor, played a key role in the "Russia collusion" hoax. Sullivan smeared Michael Flynn, his predecessor as National Security Advisor, by speculating that Flynn's conversations with the Russian ambassador may have been part of a collusion scheme. Sullivan's claims were a continuation of his effort to promote the "Russia collusion" hoax, and his role in promoting false claims about Trump's links to Russia was confirmed in the final report of Special Council Durham. Despite this, Sullivan is making key national security decisions and statements about Russia, and the press is failing to hold him accountable.

Forbes: Good Intentions, Wrong Tone: A Review of Rainer Zitelmann’s ‘In Defense of Capitalism’
Conservatives in the US claim to be under attack from the Left, and some believe that being 'cancelled' is the path to funding and fame. This victim mentality is reflected in Rainer Zitelmann's book, In Defense of Capitalism, which begins with the idea that capitalism has been labelled as the cause of everything negative in the world; however, this view is not held by the freest markets in the world, such as Singapore. Zitelmann's book also claims that welfare promises and redistribution programs are easier vote-winners than free-market reforms, but this 'victim talk' is unwarranted and must be answered, particularly as markets are showing that capitalism is popular and winning around the world.
Zitelmann's book raises many legitimate concerns regarding poverty and the success of capitalism in reducing it throughout the world. However, his focus on polling data and numbers detract from the key takeaway that capitalism is indeed the best system for growth and prosperity. The book also appears to indulge in victimhood, which is not a useful way to promote capitalism, as markets show that it is indeed popular around the world. Instead, the book could have told many stories to illustrate the point that where capitalism is allowed to thrive, people benefit.
Newsbusters: 'Drop The Microphone,' CBS, NBC Hype Disney 'Escalating' DeSantis Feud

Forbes: American Airlines And Pilots Reach Agreement In Principle
American Airlines and the Allied Pilots Association have come to an agreement in principle on a new contract. The contract will last for four years, matching pay and profit sharing with the industry's top, while providing improved quality-of-life provisions unique to American's pilots. The deal is expected to be worth $7 billion over the four-year period, with an average 40 percent pay increase for pilots in the fourth year.
Fox News: Highland Park, home of first Ford assembly line, teeters on edge of bankruptcy
Highland Park, a community nearly surrounded by Detroit, is considering municipal bankruptcy as it teeters on the edge of bankruptcy owing about $20 million to a regional water service. Their situation serves as an example of blue-collar cities that lost their way amid changes in manufacturing. Troubled cities like Highland Park are the toughest cases in America to figure out how to fix, because they have so few assets to build on, said Alan Mallach, the author of a soon-to-be-released book, "Smaller Cities in a Shrinking World: Learning to Thrive Without Growth."
Henry Ford bought 160 acres of land in Highland Park back in 1907 and the first moving assembly line started a few years later, making Highland Park, once a thriving auto manufacturing town. In a rat-infested, vacant apartment building in early February, authorities found the bodies of three aspiring rappers to perform at a club in Detroit. Their fate is a reminder that neighborhood malaise and neglect are overpowering in some parts of the city, where property taxes in the 2022 fiscal year were about $9.6 million and estimated revenues for the coming fiscal year are expected to be about $12.6 million.

Fox News: Crime drops in Tacoma after city adds more officers to 'defunded' force: 'Absolutely makes a difference'

The tech could help China build nuclear submarines and military aircraft. Arrests for leaks from South Korean companies have also increased, with concerns about tech leakage to US companies through joint ventures. In response, China is investigating US due diligence companies operating in China, resulting in increased business risk and potential decoupling from China by many G-7 countries.

Daily Wire: Be The Reliable Person At A Funeral
Dr. Jordan Peterson says our identity is not our plan but the thing that can confront the obstacle to the plan. Totalitarianism happens at every level of our hierarchy including the psychological level. When something comes up to object to our plan, it is possible that the thing objecting has something to teach us that will take us to the place where we develop an even better plan. We should not cling so desperately to the raft that we cannot let go when someone comes to rescue us. We should be the reliable person at a funeral and be tough to sustain a major loss without collapsing.
Fox News: Federal judge unlikely to shut down oil pipeline project in Wisconsin despite complaints from Native Americans
A federal judge is unlikely to order the shutdown of an oil pipeline in northern Wisconsin, despite arguments from the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa that large sections of nearby riverbank have been washed away in recent weeks and the pipeline is at immediate risk of exposure and rupturing on reservation land. U.S. District Judge William Conley said the tribe failed to prove that an emergency exists. Enbridge, the energy company behind the pipeline, has requested permission to place sandbags and trees to protect the pipeline, but tribal officials have not approved any of their requests. The tribe has sued Enbridge in the past and said land agreements allowing the pipeline to operate on the reservation expired in 2013.
