American Thinker: Why the FBI has so few whistleblowers
Why the FBI has so few whistleblowers
Three FBI whistleblowers will testify before Congress about the bureau's alleged retaliatory efforts against them for questioning practices and narratives on sensitive political issues. The whistleblowers were suspended, had their security clearance pulled and were refused outside employment while waiting for their questionings to be "investigated".

The three FBI agents were treated vindictively, starting with their security clearances being pulled and were refused outside employment, their health insurance was yanked and there were special leaks of his private HIPAA-protected health care information to the New York Times. Whistleblower protections for FBI employees may be strengthened under a new proposed rule but agents will still have to rely on the politicized Department of Justice to make final rulings. The FBI is no longer an apolitical law enforcement agency, but a politicized organization that targets opponents with Castro- and Honecker-like tactics.

Fox News: Wisconsin's assembly speaker says GOP is 'done negotiating' on bill to increase state aid to local governments
Wisconsin's assembly speaker says GOP is 'done negotiating' on bill to increase state aid to local governments
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said negotiations on a bill increasing state aid to Wisconsin's local governments are over, unveiling a new proposal that Democratic Governor Tony Evers and the GOP-controlled Senate have yet to agree to. The Assembly passed the latest version hours after Evers expressed optimism that a bipartisan agreement could be reached. Under the bill, $1.5 billion in aid to municipalities would be paid for by tapping 20% of the state’s 5-cent sales tax. Aid would then grow along with sales tax revenue. The bill would increase funding to counties, cities, towns, and villages by $261 million over the next two years and is categorised as .

Oregon GOP walkout over Democrats’ ‘extreme’ bills stalls two-year budget plan
Oregon's latest state revenue forecast exceeded expectations, giving lawmakers more money for a two-year budget due in June, but a boycott by Senate Republicans over extreme Democratic-led bills has jeopardized the process and they show no signs of returning to the chamber. Under a new constitutional amendment, three Republicans and an Independent Party senator are disqualified from reelection because they accumulated 10 unexcused absences. Six more Republicans will reach that 10-day mark on Thursday if they still fail to appear.

The Epoch Times: Eco-Anxiety Is a Reflection of a Sick Society
Eco-Anxiety Is a Reflection of a Sick Society
Eco-anxiety, a chronic fear of environmental doom, is causing mental health problems in the US and UK. The US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is offering paid leave to employees who attend “eco-anxiety” seminars, and an increasing number of FWS employees are suffering from “eco-grief” - a sense of profound sorrow over perceived future losses to the environment. Studies show a strong association between eco-anxiety and various mental health disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. However, data suggests that catastrophic global warming and climate change scenarios have been greatly exaggerated, with Hurricanes, wildfires, and flooding occurring less frequently while humans have become far more adaptive, according to scientist Bjorn Lomborg and environmental activist Michael Shellenberger.

'Hold My Beer': Matt Gaetz Absolutely Triggers Panel Members After Mocking Miller Lite
Republican congressman Matt Gaetz slammed Miller Lite for their woke advertisement about objectifying women in past ads. Gaetz stated that good-looking women in bikinis sell beer, and nobody wants to buy beer from Lizzo. Many people agree with Gaetz, saying there is no way this ad will make people buy beer. Miller Lite is alienating its customer base by saying everything that drew them to the beer is evil, just like Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light.

Trump says he would reach abortion 'deal' that the 'whole country can agree with'
Former President Trump claims he can negotiate a deal on abortion that the entire country will accept. He believes his administration would be in a powerful position following the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a rumored 2024 presidential candidate, has hit back at Trump for his comments on the state's six-week restriction, suggesting that "protecting an unborn child" at that stage is something that pro-lifers widely support. Trump has also been criticized by Nikki Haley for his pledge to negotiate on abortion nationally, with Haley calling it an "unrealistic" goal given the current political landscape.

Euromaidan Press: Russian likely bans senior officials from resignation to prevent impression of defeatism – UK intel
Russian likely bans senior officials from resignation to prevent impression of defeatism – UK intel
Russia is banning senior officials from resigning, including regional leaders and security officials, to maintain collective responsibility for the war effort and prevent defeatism. The ban is likely enforced through trumped-up criminal charges. Russian officials are likely skeptical about the war and facing work stress within the dysfunctional wartime apparatus. The ban aims to prevent any impression of defeatism and capability gaps. British intelligence reports that Russian air defense is ineffective against Ukrainian drone attacks and Russian troops are unlikely to achieve cohesion under stress on the 1200 km front line in Ukraine. Russia's 72nd Brigade withdrew in disarray as Ukraine regained at least 1 km of territory.

Fears about the reactors at Zaporizhia continue to mount
Europe's largest nuclear-energy site, the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, located in occupied southern Ukraine, is causing fears regarding a possible meltdown with all but one of the facility's grid connections being knocked out and no longer producing electricity. The facility, now regulated by Russia, currently houses Russian troops who are making decisions "from the point of view of military tactics". Multiple hazards such as fire, misuse of equipment, and abuse towards staff have been reported, causing concern among safety officials.

Fox News: French high court issues decision supporting AI-powered surveillance cameras for Paris Olympics
French high court issues decision supporting AI-powered surveillance cameras for Paris Olympics
The French Constitutional Council has approved the use of artificial intelligence (AI) powered surveillance cameras for the 2024 Paris Olympics, despite opposition from some MPs and MEPs, who argued their use transgresses personal freedoms. The council stated that existing laws provide for people being in control of the development and implementation of algorithmic processing, that biometric data cannot be used and that the images collected will only be processed to ensure the safety of cultural, recreational or sporting events exposed to risk of terrorism. Opponents have argued that the scope of the law is too broad and the risk of mass surveillance too high.

Paris' police have already clashed with violent May Day protesters, whilst previous demonstrations have opposed both pension reforms and President Emmanuel Macron's raising of the retirement age. Critics of the law believe that implementation of AI-backed security could set a precedent for state-surveillance in Europe. Meanwhile, defenders of the monitoring system claim it will help prevent terrorism at the event.

The Epoch Times: Bipartisan Bill Seeks to Crack Down on Big Banks' Presence of Federal Reserve Board
Bipartisan Bill Seeks to Crack Down on Big Banks' Presence of Federal Reserve Board
Two senators have proposed a bipartisan bill to restrict the big banks' presence on the boards of regional Federal Reserve Banks and enhance accountability. The bill aims to limit which banks can serve on the board of Federal Reserve's 12 regional banks, specifically restricting eligibility to banks with less than $50 billion in assets and blocking banks that have an "above-average" number of outstanding supervisory warnings. It also seeks to open the appointment process of directors and presidents of the Fed regional banks to public comment and hearings and establish 10-year term limits for appointees. The proposal comes as fallout from the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapse continues and would also address potential conflicts of interest.

SVB’s former CEO served as a Class A director on the board of the San Francisco Federal Reserve, sparking concerns about conflict of interest. SVB collapsed due to banking sector pressures that brought about the withdrawal of deposits, and the fallout from its failure led to increased deposit outflows from smaller banks. Deposit outflows after SVB's collapse were so severe that federal regulators backed up all SVB deposits above the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) coverage cap. Warren and Scott's proposed bill aims to eliminate conflicts of interest and strengthen accountability at the Federal Reserve. The directors of the Federal Reserve Banks have been in the spotlight in recent years as the central bank has faced criticism that bank directors too heavily weigh toward the business and banking community.

Fox News: US metro areas beginning to grow once again following 2021 decline
US metro areas beginning to grow once again following 2021 decline
The flight from urban areas during the pandemic reversed or slowed in the second year, with NY and LA declines halved and Texas and Florida booming. Over half of the 20 largest US metro areas lost residents in 2021, while all US metro areas grew by just 0.1%. In 2022, only eight of the 20 largest metros decreased, and the growth rate was 0.4%. The Dallas-Fort Worth area grew the most among US metros, jumping by six-digit figures for a second consecutive year, as it gained another 170,000 residents last year.

Metro Phoenix also surpassed the 5 million-person threshold for the first time last year. Houst on, Atlanta, and Orlando saw the largest growth. The release did not show the reasons behind population changes, but similar data at the county level released in March showed it was mostly driven by international migration. The Villages, Florida, was the fastest-growing US metro area between 2021 and 2022, increasing by 7.5%.

The Economist: Meet the lefty Europeans who want to deliberately shrink the economy
Meet the lefty Europeans who want to deliberately shrink the economy
Left-leaning Europeans argue that the planet has reached its limits of economic growth, and that society needs to embrace eco-friendly "de-growth" to avoid a collapse. At the "Beyond Growth" conference, organized by MEPs, thousands of activists championed the view that human beings are born small and remain that way, and that the mature economy similarly need not grow any longer. De-growth activists believe that growth damages the planet and only benefits the rich, and that it is better to force eco-sustainable diet now and to rid aspirations for growth in the future. Meanwhile, Europe is working on cutting its carbon emissions in half by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon by 2050.

Pilot Contract Talks Are Tough. Allegiant Pilot Contract Talks Are The Toughest Of Them All
Allegiant pilots, represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, are pushing for better pay and work rules as negotiations for a new contract continue overseen by the National Mediation Board. Allegiant pilots currently operate at the lowest pay in the industry and are behind in defining wages, benefits and working conditions in comparison to their peers. The airline has argued that it offers “competitive wages” and “scheduling and quality of life enhancements,” but pilots claim the company has failed to honor seniority in scheduling, and that the airline is lagging far behind its peers in pay rates. Pilots have also expressed concern over Allegiant’s partnership with Viva Aerobus, as the deal could mean job loss or lower pay for the pilots as the low-cost Mexican carrier pays salaries approximately five to six times lower than Allegiant.

The Epoch Times: Can Fluoride in Tap Water Lower IQ and Affect Sleep?
Can Fluoride in Tap Water Lower IQ and Affect Sleep?
Fluoride in drinking water is under scrutiny after research suggests a potential link between high levels of fluoride exposure and lower IQ scores, as well as disruptions to sleeping patterns. One study conducted in rural townships in China found a significant difference in the mean IQ of children, with those living in a village with high concentrations of fluoride in their water on average having lower IQs than children in villages with lower fluoride levels. Research suggests that fluoride can damage the nervous system and produce free radicals that degrade cells, including DNA, cell membranes and proteins. Accumulation of free radicals may increase the risk of cancer. The body has difficulty breaking down fluoride, which can lead to a buildup of calcium and fluoride in the pineal gland, causing disruptions to melatonin production and sleep cycles. Concerns have arisen regarding the fluoridation of drinking water and its impact on various health issues.

Cotton warns new CDC vaccine schedule including COVID-19 jab could lead to school vaccine mandates
Republican Senator Tom Cotton is requesting a Government Accountability Office (GAO) analysis of children's COVID-19 vaccine schedules. He sent a letter to Comptroller General Gene Dodaro after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended doses for children as young as six months and changed their vaccine schedule, calling it "irresponsible," and that the change could be used to back vaccine mandates in schools. If determined to be part of the federal rulemaking process, Congress could overturn the new shot schedule. The Congressional Review Act (CRA) will enable Congress to undo the CDC's vaccination guideline for children if it is deemed a rule.

Utah lawmakers allocate $40 million to prepare for possibly historic flooding from melting winter snowpack. Multiple states in the American West are dealing with double than usual levels of snow-water equivalent, leading to concerns of flooding and infrastructure damage. While spring temperatures have been moderate, the snow runoff has caused flooding in some neighborhoods and evacuation orders.
