American Thinker: Group demanding transparency for SCOTUS panics after accidentally being transparent
Fix the Court, a non-profit organization demanding Supreme Court transparency and constitutional reform, accidentally released its own financial records. Executive Director Gabe Roth claimed to have misunderstood filing instructions and sent unredacted financial disclosures to the Washington Examiner. Fix the Court’s largest donors include leftist-funded foundations, despite the organization advertising itself as nonpartisan and working with individuals and organizations across the political spectrum. Roth is in a frenzy because of the mistake, as the identities of the donors could be made public.
Fox News: Kevin McCarthy: GOP debt ceiling unity prevents Biden from shunning negotiation
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy praised the GOP's legislation in May, stating that President Biden can no longer demand a clean debt ceiling increase without negotiation. Biden's recent stance of stipulation-free increase is being questioned, and members of both men's staves have been tasked with negotiating with Republicans. McCarthy believes that the debt ceiling negotiations present an opportunity to adjust the nation's fiscal path and make it more responsible. He nods to the exchange between Republicans and a reporter on Biden's work requirements for federal benefits, stating that these requirements will help select Americans to get out of the poverty mess.
The next few weeks present an opportunity to have the most substantive welfare reform since Clinton, and the biggest spending cut since former President Reagan. McCarthy believes that a fundamental change that puts a cap on what the country is spending would save the country trillions of dollars. The GOP's limit, save, grow approach believes that the debt ceiling should not be raised without changes. McCarthy posits that continuously raising the debt ceiling is like having a child with a credit card, year after year, adding more expenses to your entire economy.
Red State: Anna Paulina Luna Issues the First Shot, Filing a Resolution for Adam Schiff's Removal From Congress
Evidence shows that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) lied to the American people and taxpayers when he claimed he had evidence of Russian collusion. George Washington Law professor Jonathan Turley is demanding answers from Schiff, who continues to deflect and gaslight from his role in the hoax of the century. Freshman Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is calling for Schiff to be removed from Congress and has filed a resolution to expel him. Speaker McCarthy is considering the consequences of Schiff's actions and whether he should even be in Congress, while Schiff continues to position himself for higher office.
Fox News: Speaker McCarthy's secret weapon in the debt ceiling negotiations is paying off
The debt ceiling negotiation is like a high-stakes game of pool or golf, where the pressure of the competition can cause a competitor to break under the pressure. In the case of the debt ceiling negotiation, the House Republicans passed the "Limit, Save, Grow Act" on April 26, a move which changed the game and forced the Biden administration to finally start negotiating on spending cuts and reforms. The GOP is now united behind Speaker Kevin McCarthy's demand for these changes as part of any debt ceiling increase, and the Democrats are in an unexpected tough position.
American Thinker: What Durham’s report avoided
The Durham report confirmed conservative claims about Russiagate, exposing the politicized weaponization of the FBI, DOJ, and intelligence apparatus. However, it did not address the lack of merit in the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, nor the purpose of Mueller’s two-year investigation. Durham avoided investigating Mueller and Weissmann’s role in covering up Obama administration abuses to target Trump, allowing Mueller to deflect questions regarding the Steele dossier in congressional hearings. The report also omitted acting AG Rod Rosenstein, who authorized the continuation of a hoax investigation despite evidence of its fraudulent basis. The absence of Professor Joseph Mifsud from the report suggests further cover-up.
The Epoch Times: Texas Senate Passes Bill Limiting Authority of Cities, Counties to Impose Local Regulations
Texas Senate passed a bill limiting the regulatory powers of local cities and counties. The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act would grant statewide consistency in trade and commerce and limit the ability of local governments to make rules or regulations beyond state law in nine areas. The bill allows Texans to sue any municipal or county authority that violates the legislation, and municipalities or counties that lose such suits can recover costs if the suits were deemed "frivolous" by courts.

The Economist: How a front-line city became Ukraine’s romantic capital
Kramatorsk, a Ukrainian city only 30km from the front lines of the Ukraine War, has become a romantic hub for soldiers and their partners who are not allowed to travel far from the fighting. Although most hotels have shut down due to bombings, a network of short-term apartments that fill the gap have thrived. Foreign Policy: Ukraine Begins Pre-Offensive Probe of Russian Lines
Russian troops are fleeing the eastern city of Bakhmut due to probing Ukrainian attacks that have recaptured territory, according to Yevgeny Prigozhin, the boss of Russian paramilitary Wagner Group. Ukraine has only retaken 7 square miles of territory in the suburbs north and south of Bakhmut, but some have hailed it as the first offensive success in the nine-month battle to defend the city. There are concerns among Ukrainian officials, however, that the offensive will be seen as a failure if they are unable to make significant gains against Russia and secure Western support.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced that the era of neoliberal foreign policy is over in a landmark speech. Sullivan rejected the flawed assumptions of the neoliberal global economic order that governed foreign policy over the last 40 years, championing instead crafting markets for the benefit of people. Sullivan acknowledged the challenge of inequality and its damage to democracy and offered a more realistic foundation for economic policy at home and abroad. Progressives should celebrate but remain cautious as there is still a contest for what will be the next paradigm for U.S. foreign policy.
