American Thinker: The Cataclysm to Come
The Cataclysm to Come
The United States is on a path of decay, with its values, economy, and society eroding at a rapid pace. Hard-left fanatics have transformed the Democrat party and are pushing for woke and equality-of-result agendas. The border is overrun with illegal immigrants, crime is rampant, and the FBI pursues parents at school board meetings instead of criminals. The country is socially and politically divided, and the foundations of its society have become degraded. The United States is becoming ever less willing and able to lead internationally, and China's current foreign policy could not happen without its three-decades-long economic growth, underwritten by its exports to America. With the upcoming elections in November 2024, the left is expected to cheat again, leading to a breakdown in civil order nationwide. All constitutionally minded Americans must see the danger and gird themselves for what lies ahead, or America, as we know it, is over.

Finally, Tom Hanks says with AI he could appear in movies after death.

'Ron’s Magic Is GONE!' Trump Says After 2 DeSantis-Endorsed Candidates Lose
Trump celebrated the defeat of two candidates endorsed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on his Truth Social account. The former president expressed his support for Daniel Cameron, the Republican nomination for Governor in Kentucky, who defeated DeSantis-endorsed Kelly Craft. Cameron will challenge Governor Andy Beshear in November. In Florida, DeSantis-endorsed Republican candidate Daniel Davis lost to Democrat Donna Deegan in the mayoral race in Jacksonville, flipping the office, which was under GOP control since 2015. Trump called for a referendum on Biden's failures for the 2024 elections, asserting that he is leading in the polls against DeSantis by 40 points.

California city gives celebrity chef José Andrés an exemption for his restaurant to use gas stoves
Celebrity chef José Andrés has been granted an exemption in Palo Alto, California, that will allow his new restaurant to use gas stoves. This follows a lawsuit threat and claims that the use of natural gas is important for the restaurant’s signature dishes. The City of Palo Alto had revised its building codes requiring all new buildings to be electric, but the developers had already installed a gas line into the building. The push against gas stoves has been a major issue for President Biden's Administration, which some view as government overstepping its bounds.

American Thinker: Biden Stokes the Flames of Distrust
Biden Stokes the Flames of Distrust
The problem is a lack of trust in each other, not racism. Skin tone doesn't define who we are. Anti-white sentiment is being pushed onto the public by Joe Biden: he's telling non-white people to fear men in white robes, while saying that 'white supremacists' are the greatest threat to America. He is stoking civil unrest for political advantage and is doing so with little moral concern for the consequences. This is not encouraging candid conversation. We need to understand goodness in each other, and forgive past wrongs before they destroy our future.

Foreign Policy: It’s Time for the Generals to Let Go in Pakistan
It’s Time for the Generals to Let Go in Pakistan
Pakistan is facing a political crisis as former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the military engage in a dangerous confrontation, threatening the stability of the country. The military has ruled the country for three decades and has worked to keep civilian prime ministers from surviving a full term, perpetuating a cycle of dysfunction. Khan was initially pliable and established a "hybrid regime" with military authorities, but when he tried to insert his own voice, the military turned on him, leaving him vulnerable to a vote of no confidence. Now, the military is attempting to eliminate him from contention in this year's general election, using tactics such as arresting and torturing Khan's party leaders and threatening to prosecute suspected rioters in its own courts. An election that is peaceful, free, and fair is necessary for Pakistan to move forward and break from its past.

CT lawmakers unanimously approve bill attempting to curtail wrong-way drivers following death of colleague
Connecticut lawmakers unanimously approved a bill to install detection and notification systems and launch a public education campaign to reduce the growing problem of wrong-way driving incidents. The bill calls for flashing lights, police notification, and electronic message boards to alert drivers of wrong-way drivers, focused on high-risk highway exit ramps statewide. Thirteen wrong-way crashes occurred in Connecticut in 2022, resulting in 23 fatalities, the most on record for the state.

National Review: Daniel Penny Wasn’t a Vigilante
Daniel Penny Wasn’t a Vigilante
Daniel Penny, a former Marine, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter following an incident on the New York City subway where he and other passengers tried to subdue a man suffering from untreated mental illness whom they believed was a threat. Some progressive commentators have accused conservatives of supporting white vigilantism and glorifying the violence that Penny allegedly committed. However, this argument is flawed, as Penny was not a vigilante, and there is no evidence to suggest that his actions were motivated by racial animus. Many conservatives see Penny as a defender of himself and other passengers, acting out of a genuine impulse to protect others in a difficult and dangerous situation.

The Epoch Times: Internet Trolls Who Encourage Serious Self-Harm Face 5 Years in Jail
Internet Trolls Who Encourage Serious Self-Harm Face 5 Years in Jail
It will be a crime to encourage self-harm causing grievous bodily harm, with a jail sentence of up to five years. The new law will apply to general encouragement of self-harm, including starving or not taking prescribed medication, and even if the perpetrator doesn't know the person being targeted. The move follows a recommendation by the Law Commission and the case of Molly Russell, who took her own life after being exposed to graphic self-harm and suicide content online.

The Online Safety Bill will require the largest social media platforms to carry out risk assessments on the types of harm that could appear on their services and document how they plan to address them. The new law also has the support of Justice Secretary Alex Chalk, who says it will send a clear message to cowardly trolls that their behaviour is not acceptable. However, the bill has been criticised by politicians within the Conservative Party and free speech activists for infringing on freedom of expression, with some describing it as a significant accidental infringement on free speech in modern times.

The Epoch Times: De-dollarization?
De-dollarization?
De-dollarization is a hot topic due to the potential U.S. debt ceiling issue, but it may not be feasible for emerging markets. China may have gained more trade partners invoicing in their currency, but the share of non-U.S. dollar goods trade is still small and China's largest export destination is still the U.S. Among the BRICS giants, only India has the potential to build up an international currency. De-dollarization remains an empty talk stage at this point.

Stock Market Today: Global Stocks, Wall Street Futures Rise on Hopes for US Debt Deal
Global stock markets and Wall Street futures rose on hopes U.S. political leaders can reach an agreement to avoid a potentially disastrous default on government debt. London and Paris opened higher. Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong advanced. Markets are pricing an in-time resolution of the crisis. Any disruption in U.S. government borrowing and debt payments could send shockwaves through the global financial system.

American Thinker: Argentina Is Collapsing Again...Again!
Argentina Is Collapsing Again...Again!
Argentina should be the richest nation on Earth with its natural resources, fertile land, and homogeneous culture. Instead, it is on the brink of economic collapse yet again, with a history that defies belief. The problem can be traced back to the profligate spending of Juan Perón in the late 1940s and early 1950s, but the rich elites also played a role by treating the majority of the population as if they were worthless. The result is a society where the bond between those in power and the people has totally eroded, and no one is innocent. This is where America is headed very soon unless things change.

MP Materials: What A Successful Re-Shoring Strategy Could Look Like
MP Materials is investing $700 million in a new permanent magnet factory in Fort Worth, Texas, to create a domestic US supply chain for rare-earth permanent magnets used in electric vehicles (EVs), wind turbines and aerospace and defence systems. Currently, China controls 87% of the global permanent magnet market, meaning it also dominates rare-earth production, making it the low-cost producer. Six components of MP's strategy could be a model for other re-shoring manufacturers including vertically integrating, acquiring assets on favourable terms, harnessing process innovation, securing demand, taking advantage of interim subsidies and choosing a suitable location for access to talent.

National Review: Biden Menthol-Ban Proposal Draws Harsh Criticism from Racial-Justice Activists, Conservatives Alike
Biden Menthol-Ban Proposal Draws Harsh Criticism from Racial-Justice Activists, Conservatives Alike
The Biden administration's proposed ban on menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars is facing pushback from groups across the political spectrum. Advocacy groups such as Law Enforcement Action Partnership and civil rights attorney Ben Crump argue that the ban would discriminate against black Americans, as 85% of black smokers consume menthol products. Opponents warn that a ban would lead to unintended consequences, including increased interactions between black Americans and police and boosted illicit drug markets. Furthermore, banning flavored tobacco will not stop people from using it, according to Maritza Perez Medina, director of Drug Policy Alliance’s office of federal affairs.

The Federalist: Enforce Work Requirements By Ending Medicaid Expansion
Enforce Work Requirements By Ending Medicaid Expansion
Conservative lawmakers in states can impose work requirements for taxpayer-subsidized health coverage by exiting from Obamacare's expansion of Medicaid to the able-bodied, enabling more people to earn income above the federal poverty level and qualify for subsidized Exchange coverage. Recipients would not face any out-of-pocket premium to purchase benchmark coverage through the insurance Exchanges. Unlike Medicaid expansion, these Exchange subsidies would not cost states money, although they would transfer more costs onto the federal balancing sheet. Conservative state lawmakers' move away from a culture of dependency would bolster the actions of their federal counterparts in Congress.

Riley Gaines says liberals are supporting her activism to protect women’s sports: ‘Sick of their own party’
Former swimmer, Riley Gaines, has gained support from liberal feminists following her advocacy for women's sports. She accuses Democrats of ignoring women's demands concerning privacy, safety, and fairness in sports. Gaines was present during the Republican Women Bill of Rights legislation unveiling, which would aid bills like the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act by defining the term "woman" in federal law. The House bill is unlikely to pass in a Democrat-controlled Senate or be approved by President Biden.

Riley Gaines has called for female athletes to boycott competing against transgender individuals. The former college championship swimmer gained a following among liberal feminists for her advocacy. She accuses the Democratic party of ignoring women's demands for safety, privacy, fairness, and respect in sports by promoting transgender inclusion policies in schools. Gaines was present during the Republican Women Bill of Rights legislation unveiling, which would define the term "woman" in federal law and provide legal basis for other bills, including the Fairness In Women's Sports Act. The bill's approval is unlikely in a Democrat-led Senate and due to the President's intent to veto it.

Mountain lions are often misunderstood and can coexist with humans. Utah's mountain lion population is threatened by hunting and trapping, so Peterson's group is trying to mitigate conflict and protect the species. She offers tips on interpreting body language and diffusing situations respectfully when they occur.

Fox News: Wisconsin Native American tribe argue that oil pipeline near reservation land should be shut down
Wisconsin Native American tribe argue that oil pipeline near reservation land should be shut down
A Wisconsin Native American tribe is asking a federal judge to force Enbridge to shut down Line 5, an oil pipeline on reservation land, citing erosion and risk of rupture. The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa claims that less than 15 feet of land now separates the river from the exposed area of the pipeline, which carries up to 23 million gallons of oil and natural gas per day. The tribe sued Enbridge in 2019 to remove the pipeline, saying it's dangerous and using the land is not authorized. Enbridge argues there's almost no chance the pipeline will be exposed due to erosion and that shutting it down would hurt the economy of the Great Lakes region.
