The Epoch Times: Bipartisan Bill Aims to Block Chinese Purchase of US Farmland
Reps. Dale Strong and Abigail Spanberger introduced a bill to block the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) affiliates from buying or leasing U.S. farmland. The legislation, titled “Protecting America’s Agricultural Land from Foreign Harm Act,” would prohibit any individual associated with foreign adversaries from acquiring or leasing agricultural land in the country, with the exception of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. The legislators said that the current loopholes in reporting foreign land and ownership have resulted in a lack of accurate data on foreign land ownership and investment in the country.
China owned 325,686 acres of U.S. agricultural land in 2020, according to the Department of Agriculture. The proposed law comes as a counter-measure against the CCP's aggressive influence campaigns and attempts to erode U.S. food, economic, and national security. The legislation is adding to the growing bipartisan push in Congress against Beijing. The proposed bill has already drawn support from bipartisan senators and lawmakers who are urging stronger oversight over farmland ownership to protect against foreign threats.

National Review: The Corner: Tina Smith, Ed Markey, and the Democrats Attack Congress and the Supreme Court
Minnesota senator Tina Smith and Massachusetts senator Ed Markey have recently joined two progressive schemes that would damage Congress and the Supreme Court and bring us closer to personal rule by the President. The "14th Amendment option" involves the President unilaterally seizing the powers of Congress to borrow money or raise revenue which could seriously destabilize the credit markets, but Tina Smith called it "a viable and real option". Meanwhile, Ed Markey reintroduced a bill to pack the Court with additional justices, joined by Smith and others, with pro-abortion groups being the big funders behind the push. If it takes burning down our system to get what progressive Democrats want, they will do it.
The Epoch Times: Rep. Jordan Clashes with Democrats Over Whistleblower Testimony
The atmosphere was tense as Rep. Jim Jordan, a powerful Republican congressman, sparred with Democrats during a hearing about whistleblowers from the FBI. Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, made his presence known with confrontational questioning and statements.
The Blaze: Horowitz: Republicans must say no to expanded Capitol Police role
House Republicans plan to provide $780.9m to the US Capitol police in their appropriations bill, which is a $46.3m increase from enacted fiscal year 2023 levels. US Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger wants more personnel to operate in offices across the US citing increased violence both in Washington and beyond. Given that FBI whistleblower Stephen Friend has divulged that the FBI is randomly investigating conservatives who had nothing to do with criminal activity on Jan. 6, it is a valid assumption that the USCP are likely engaging in the same surveillance and intelligence-gathering on U.S. citizens as the FBI. This activity could potentially violate the Intelligence Oversight Act.
Newsbusters: New Twitter Files EXPOSE Leftist Media’s Cozy Relationships with Prior Regime
Journalist Paul Thacker revealed that The Washington Post's Taylor Lorenz and NBC's Ben Collins had privileged access to Twitter's censorship apparatus under the old regime. Twitter provided favoured access to disinformation reporters allowing them access to new products and silencing accounts. Lorenz aided censorship, appearing self-interested and having accounts banned for personal reasons. Collins helped flag content and track "all kinds of Qanon groups." CNN journalists were also eager to work with Twitter. Thacker had received funding from liberal billionaire George Soros.
Daily Wire: Wired Mag Trashed For ‘Unintentionally Hilarious’ Puff Piece On Pete Buttigieg
WIRED Magazine faced backlash over a puff piece on U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, which was criticized for being more flattery than substance. The article featured Virginia Heffernan's admiration for Buttigieg, highlighting his love for God, beer, and his electric Mustang. Critics pointed out that the piece lacked any real interview content and was an example of poor media coverage.
Red State: Report: Pelosi Is Shamelessly Exploiting 'Friend' Dianne Feinstein's Condition to Benefit Adam Schiff
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may be defending Senator Dianne Feinstein to secure her longtime protégé and former hand-picked House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff’s primary victory in Feinstein’s seat at the 2024 Democratic primary. Pelosi’s daughter is also playing a central role in Feinstein's life, and might be an accomplice to the elder abuse that's going on as a way to prevent Governor Gavin Newsom from appointing Rep. Barbara Lee to be Feinstein's replacement. According to the report, there are a lot of Democrats playing exploitative political games with a frail woman whose health is deteriorating.

Newsbusters: Goodbye! Montana Heeds Warnings on Dangers of Communist Chinese Gov’t-Tied TikTok

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has also called for a nationwide approach to address the potential national security risks of TikTok, which has been accused of spreading Chinese propaganda. Despite Big Tech companies and left-wing advocates arguing that the ban infringes on the First Amendment, experts warn that TikTok poses a significant threat through its ability to gather data and influence American society.

Daily Wire: House Freedom Caucus Adopts Hardline Position On Debt Ceiling, Insists On Meaningful Spending Reform
House Freedom Caucus holds firm on debt ceiling, demanding spending reforms in exchange for raising the limit. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warns of potential default as early as June 1 if the limit is not raised. The lawmakers urge Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Republicans to ensure the passage of the Limit, Save, Grow Act and will not support any other means of raising the ceiling. Progress has been made in negotiations between congressional leaders and President Biden, but financial markets remain uneasy as the deadline approaches.
The Epoch Times: Rep. Scott Perry Says Debt Limit Impacts Everyone
U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, a Pennsylvania Republican, warns of the fallout that could come from raising the debt ceiling. With the national debt being 20 percent more than the economy, the U.S. House passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act to return total discretionary spending to the Fiscal Year 2022 level in fiscal year 2024 and cap annual growth at 1 percent for a decade. Senate Republicans have expressed support for the act. Democrats are holding firm on raising the debt limit without compromise to fund programs while they are in power. Senate Democrats seem unwilling to budge and are circulating a letter asking Biden to prepare to invoke the 14th Amendment in case Congress cannot reach a deal.
PJ Media: Multinational Technocratic Elites Gather for Annual Bilderberg Meeting
Unelected technocrats gather at the secretive Bilderberg group each year to coordinate with politicians, bankers, and CEOs on topics including AI, banking, China, energy, NATO, Russia, and Ukraine. The group is extremely secretive, with participants attending in a private capacity and barred from revealing identities or discussions. Despite the presence of public officials, the group claims that participants are not bound by the conventions of their office. Mainstream media largely ignores the gathering and often derides anyone who reports on it as a conspiracy theorist.
Forbes: The Law Of Unintended Consequences Bites SeatGeek
SeatGeek donated two codes worth $500 to a baseball conference, but they were not configured properly and leaked on the internet. Significant numbers of tickets were sold before the codes were contained. Because the tickets listed on SeatGeek belong to third parties, SeatGeek potentially owed each seller for the tickets purchased, whether the purchase was legitimate or not. SeatGeek has chosen to take the loss for most of the sales made with the code, but it is difficult to determine who was knowingly taking advantage of the error and who was not. Those who made multiple purchases with the code or resold the tickets are likely to have been aware of the issue. The innocent sellers who had a spike in sales because of the code also suffered losses. SeatGeek's primary concern was to make whole the sellers whose tickets were taken as a result of the code sales. The ecosystem of ticket resale relies heavily on trustworthy partners who are fair in their dealings. Those who abused the code and are complaining about their loss of intended profit may find their future in the ticket world tainted. In a complex interconnected world, it is always better to make friends than enemies.
