House Republicans have passed H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act of 2023, to restore sanctity, safety, and security at the border, combatting the chaos caused by the expiration of Title 42, a public health measure that expelled those who attempted to enter the US illegally. Over 5 million encounters and 1.4 million “gotaways” have been recorded over President Biden’s time in office, including almost 200 known and suspected terrorists, a humanitarian crisis and a danger to national security. H.R. 2 will force the Biden administration to take action, including implementing the border wall, deploying technology improvements, increasing the number of Border Patrol agents and bonuses, ending catch-and-release policies, and combating human trafficking.

The Supreme Court ruled that Google and Twitter are not legally responsible for terrorist attacks, protecting them from claims that they gave terrorist groups a platform. The decision also allowed the court to avoid a similar case regarding Google-owned YouTube.

A North Dakota man who hit and killed an 18-year-old with his car and blamed it on a political dispute will no longer face murder charges after a unilateral decision by the local district attorney. The man reportedly called the police and told them that the victim was a member of a Republican extremist group who had threatened him. The charges were originally upgraded to murder with a dangerous weapon, however, they have now been reduced to manslaughter. The defendant's attorney claims that there is no evidence of intentional homicide and blames misplaced media hype and community conjecture for distorting the facts.
