The Epoch Times: State AGs Charge That Insurance Companies’ Net Zero Agenda May Violate US Antitrust Laws
23 state attorneys general are investigating insurers' commitments to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies, amid concerns that they violate US antitrust law. The states want information on engagement with two United Nations-backed initiatives, the Net Zero Insurance Alliance and the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance, which aim to divest from fossil fuels. Three large global insurers, Munich Re, Hannover Re and Zurich Insurance Group, have recently withdrawn from the NZIA over antitrust concerns. ESG policies are often framed as risk-management tools, particularly in relation to the effects of climate change on the industry, but have been criticised for advancing political agendas.
The Epoch Times: Comer ‘Won’t Be Intimidated’ by Liberal Group’s Call for Investigation, Says House Oversight Committee
The House Oversight Committee has dismissed calls from Facts First USA to investigate committee Chairman James Comer, characterizing the group's efforts as "theatrics." Facts First USA sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, arguing that Comer may have violated the law in a May 14 interview with Fox News. Under U.S.C. § 1001, it is illegal to knowingly make materially false statements for any branch of the federal government. The Oversight Committee countered that the whistleblower who spoke with Congress about bribery allegations against President Joe Biden was not the informant Comer referred to.
Facts First USA, which claims to be a bipartisan organization, has publicly opposed the Republican "MAGA majority" in the House of Representatives and their investigation into President Biden's family. Following the Oversight Committee's latest briefing, which revealed more than $10 million from foreign entities to Biden family members, Facts First USA criticized the "underwhelming" press conference, calling it a "conspiracy theory." The group's founder and Facts First USA President David Brock has previously come under fire from conservative organizations, with the America First Legal Foundation accusing him of illegally coordinating efforts to obstruct congressional investigations. In response, Brock called for a "SWAT team" to combat Republicans' false narratives in the leadup to the 2024 presidential election.
Fox News: Teenagers would give up the right to vote to keep social media, survey reveals
A survey found that 59% of TikTok users under the age of 18 would sacrifice their right to vote for one year to keep the app. The survey also found that 64% of tiktok users aged 13-17 said they would willingly disenfranchise themselves to keep the viral video platform.
Former TikTok CEO, Republican presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, announced plans to introduce a constitutional amendment to raise the voting age from 18 to 25 for those not serving the nation in the military or as a first responder, or who cannot pass the immigrant civics test. Ramaswamy believes this will help promote civic duty in the minds of young Americans. The amendment aims to ensure informed voting, and Republican Congress leaders have pushed President Biden to force the sale of all U.S. assets belonging to Chinese TikTok stakeholders in 2020.
Fox News: California's reparations scam: Michael Jackson's kids would get payouts
California's Reparations Task Force plans to grant nearly 80% of its 2.6 million Black residents reparations, despite illegality and lack of criteria. While the math doesn't add up for payouts to all eligible Blacks, illegitimate beneficiaries like Michael Jackson's children may also get payouts. The task force relies on greed, division, and fear to distract disadvantaged voters.
Fox News: Media rushes to dismiss Durham findings that further debunked beloved Russian collusion narrative
The liberal media has faced criticism for deliberately ignoring the findings of Special Counsel John Durham's report on the origins of the FBI's Trump-Russia probe. In his 300-page report, Durham concluded that the Department of Justice and FBI "failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law" and were negligent in their investigation. However, despite the report's conclusions, which signify a major blow to the media's narrative of Trump-Russia collusion, many liberal pundits and media outlets have dismissed its significance, with some even doubling down on their earlier beliefs.

The Epoch Times: Chinese Businessman Sanctioned by US Revealed to Back Influential China-Australia Group
Chinese fishing tycoon, Zhuo Xinrong, and his alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have been exposed through his involvement with the Australia China Economics Trade and Culture Association (ACETCA). The organisation, which has been called a successor to the CCP’s infiltration body in Sydney, has been found under scrutiny for Zhuo's role as a permanent honorary chairman and financier since at least 2014. ACETCA's activities are funded by wealthy Fujian businessmen, who deny any links to the CCP. The controversy has reignited calls for the overhaul of the Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme, with the opposition saying the revelation shows reforms must be immediate.

Fox News: Roy Rogers' 'weird' Hollywood makeover left Western fans stunned, granddaughter says
Roy Rogers, the "King of Cowboys," signed his first contract with Republic Pictures in October 1937. However, he needed a makeover, and studio heads took inspiration from Clark Gable. They made Rogers get prescription eyedrops to open up his eyes, as they were very squinty, but fans didn't like the change, and Rogers soon ditched the drops. Rogers went on to become the top Western box office star for 11 years in a row, from 1943 to 1954. He married Dale Evans, his frequent co-star in 1947. They had nine children and the couple stayed together until Rogers's death in 1998.

The Epoch Times: Justice Stands Between Freedom and Tyranny
The Australian Capital Territory's Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is facing scrutiny over revelations about his behaviour and professionalism at an inquiry, which could undermine public confidence in the criminal justice system. The DPP's role is to independently decide whether a case warrants prosecution based on the evidence, without interference. However, the ACT's manager of criminal investigations suggested that there was too much political interference in a case of alleged rape in Parliament House, leading to concerns about weaponising the criminal process and undermining the rule of law.

Fox News: Fisherman captures intense footage of tiger shark attacking his kayak off Hawaii coast
A man fishing off Hawaii's Oahu Island had his kayak bitten by a tiger shark, an event captured on camera. Scott Haraguchi initially suspected the sound he heard and the object he saw was a turtle, but he was quickly overwhelmed by the attacking shark. He believes the shark had confused his kayak with a seal it had previously injured, and was waiting to die, but seeing his kayak bit it mistakenly came back. Haraguchi was unharmed in the incident.
