Breitbart: EXCLUSIVE: Migrant Apprehensions Drop 62 Percent in One Week Post Title 42
Migrant apprehension by Border Patrol falls 62% in the past week, from a peak of 10,605. Del Rio Sector reported the most apprehensions. Texas DPS officers encountered a group of 20 Chinese migrants in a recent operation. CBP reports an exponential increase in the number of Chinese migrant apprehensions along US borders.
The Epoch Times: House Passes Bill to Deport Illegal Immigrants Who Assault Police
The U.S. House of Representatives approved two bills in recognition of National Police Week. HR 2494 makes assault of a law enforcement officer by an illegal immigrant an automatically deportable offense while HR 3091 allows retired federal law enforcement officers to purchase surplus federal weapons. Democrats opposed the bills, largely over Republican refusals to amend HR 3091 to require background checks for officers who wish to purchase firearms.
The House also approved CR 40 to express gratitude for local law enforcement and condemn efforts to defund or dismantle police departments. Democrats took issue with the bill for specifying local law enforcement agencies, while Republicans countered that Democrats have no credibility when it comes to supporting law enforcement as many Democrats called for defunding the police. The bills will now be sent to the U.S. Senate.

The Blaze: What is a woman? Texas Democrat says anyone who tells him they are a woman is a woman
Texas lawmakers debate the definition of "woman" as a Democratic state lawmaker suggests that anyone who claims to be a woman is one. When pressed further, he trusts individuals to tell him their gender, or not. Meanwhile, a Republican state representative presses for a clear definition without using the word "woman." Many on social media criticize the Democrat's response as a stunning display of nihilism.
Newsbusters: NewsBusters Podcast: Democrats Get an F for Feinstein and Fetterman
Media outlets show favoritism towards Democrats, evident in the gentle treatment of Senators Feinstein and Fetterman's embarrassing gaffes. The Los Angeles Times was alarmed by Feinstein's response to her absence, and the media's interest has declined since Democrats could not confirm judges. Fetterman made clumsy statements during a Senate Banking Committee hearing and joked about Republicans and SNAP recipients.
Breitbart: Survey: Trump Leads DeSantis in Georgia, Towers over Kemp

The Epoch Times: Bill Barr Says Durham Report Has 'Vindicated' Trump, Calls FBI Probe an 'Abomination'
Former Attorney General William Barr says John Durham's report on the FBI investigation into the alleged coordination between Donald Trump's associates and Russia during his 2016 campaign was "a success." The report, which was released on Monday, clears Trump of wrongdoing "as far as Russiagate is concerned." Barr called the FBI's investigation "an abomination" and a "witch hunt." While Barr believes the report will help Trump in the short-term, he does not support him for renomination and believes Trump does not have the skills to lead the Republican Party and achieve fundamental changes through Congress.

The Epoch Times: WestJet Says Union for Canadian Pilots Expects American-Style Compensation
WestJet Airlines faces a potential strike by pilots due to disputes over wages, with a union demanding Canadian pilots receive wages similar to their US counterparts. The airline has suggested the demands are not reasonable, and that pilots currently receive a generous salary. Nevertheless, over 1,900 WestJet and Swoop pilots have threatened the disruption of flights through the strike action if a deal is not reached by May 19. So far, the airline has offered wage increases, though the Air Line Pilots Association, which represents WestJet and Swoop pilots, has commented that the issue is also one of pilot retention, as many pilots have left WestJet in the last 18 months for more attractive opportunities elsewhere.
The Epoch Times: Stock Market Today: Wall Street Rises With Hopes US May Avoid Default
Wall Street rallied on hopes that the US government will not default on its debt, with the S&P 500 climbing 1.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 408 points following comments from President Joe Biden that he’s confident “America will not default.” There is a June 1 deadline for the US government to borrow more money, and although Congress has raised the nation’s debt limit many times in the past, a default could cause widespread damage across the economy. Investors are also worried about a possible recession due to higher interest rates to control inflation and a growing “profit recession.” Retailers are among the last of big US companies to report their profits for the start of the year.

The Epoch Times: Is Liberal Democracy Possible Without God?
Belief in God or a rigorous philosophy is needed to defend human rights and equality to uphold liberal democracy. Without God, liberal democracy cannot make sense of equality, which leads to inequality exploited by Marxism. Human rights and equality are advanced and protected historically by belief in God, but it can also be philosophically defended. Contemporary relativist or woke philosophies cannot articulate or defend equality or human rights. Authoritarian dictatorships are driven to persecute people of faith as they present a direct threat to those who would divide people according to class, regard some as more equal than others, and dispense with human rights.

Forbes: Disney Class Action Suit Accuses Execs Of Giving Analysts Inaccurate Guidance
Walt Disney is facing a class-action lawsuit over allegations that management released inflated subscriber numbers for its streaming service, Disney+, and shifted costs to its linear networks, which the company denies. The suit was filed by the Local 272 Labor-Management Pension Fund against the company, former CEO Bob Chapek, current CEO Bob Iger, CFO Christine McCarthy and Kareem Daniel, who headed the streaming division under Chapek. Among other things, the complaint alleges that company statements that it would have 230-260 million paid global subscribers by the end of fiscal 2024 were not sustainable. The lawsuit also claims that management shifted costs to its linear networks to reduce losses at the streaming division.
