Red State: DeSantis Acts Since Biden Won't, Sends Law Enforcement and Equipment to Texas Border
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is sending law enforcement personnel, drones, and other equipment to Texas to help counter the flow of illegal immigration since President Joe Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas have been ineffective. The list of support includes personnel, boats, planes and mobile command vehicles. Texas Governor Greg Abbott requested support from other governors, emphasizing the need to ensure the safety and security of all Americans. Abbott thanked the states of Florida and Idaho for their efforts so far and listed the measures Texas has taken to secure the border. Governor DeSantis also signed into law four bills aimed to curb human trafficking.
Fox News: 'We're not a doormat for the mayor's bad policies': Rockland County official vows to fight Adams' migrant plan
State Senators representing upstate New York vow to push back against Mayor Eric Adams' "bad policies" after he announced plans to bus hundreds of migrants to their suburban areas. They sent a letter to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul demanding more transparency surrounding the state's handling of the mounting migrant crisis after Adams declared he would be sending over 300 migrants to the state's local suburbs. A state judge on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order blocking a Rockland County hotel from accepting asylum-seekers from New York City.
Senators complained that the hotels in their county lack the resources to accommodate the influx of migrants, adding that the city's "piecemeal approaches" will not solve the unfolding crisis as officials battle the border surge and spillover, amid the end of Title 42. They criticized the New York City officials for booting homeless veterans from hotels to make room for migrants flowing across the southern border. Rockland County has issued a state of emergency and promises a law enforcement response if New York City officials continue with the plan to bus migrants.

Greene also criticized the U.S. attorney for not going after perpetrators of crimes during the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020. He also called for further criminal action to be taken against those responsible.

Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger negotiated the arrangement with Pittman and her attorney, which qualifies Pittman for pension benefits but violates department policy. Weeks after the 2022 midterm elections, Pittman announced her new job paid $283,500, which began on Feb. 1, and that she was leaving the USCP.
Pittman was controversial during her time as acting chief following the Jan. 6 riot, as the USCP intelligence division, which she oversaw, did not share potential threats with line officers beforehand. Pittman was also accused by a former USCP lieutenant of failing to respond to his urgent calls to evacuate the U.S. Senate on Jan. 6. Capitol Police Board regulations state that leave without pay is granted under the condition that the member or civilian employee will return to duty at the end of the approved period.

However, a Washington Post profile claims that Emanuel’s meddling has “wooed” Japan, where the public has taken a “surprising shine” to him.
