President Biden admits it may be chaotic for a while but goes on vacation to Delaware while his "border czar" Kamala Harris is nowhere to be found. Biden gets snotty with reporters who ask about the border and blames Congress for the problem. Mayorkas' claim of a 50% drop in numbers is misleading; the Mexican and Texas authorities interdicted most people. Biden also comments on Turkey's election and the debt ceiling negotiations but refuses to meet with Republican congressional leaders.

Breitbart: UK Parliament Staff Told to Police 'Preferred Pronoun' Usage: Report
UK Parliament staff have been instructed to report on “negative behaviours” at work, such as failure to use preferred pronouns for transgender colleagues, according to a 15-page gender identity document obtained by The Telegraph. The document outlines a “zero tolerance” policy for transphobic behaviour and instructs staff to “celebrate” trans experiences. The report also covers the use of toilets and changing rooms, which it says should be chosen based on gender identity or what most closely aligns with it. The guidance applies solely to House of Commons and Lords civil servants, not to members or their staff.
Co-founder of the LGB Alliance, Kate Harris, called the policing of pronouns “completely unacceptable in a liberal democracy”. There has been some pushback in the past from Conservative MPs, with 40 of them refusing to participate in unconscious bias training in 2020. One of these MPs, Ben Bradley, condemned the current guidance as “indoctrination” when speaking to Breitbart London. The House of Commons denied that the guidance enforced speech policing, stating that it merely aimed to promote an “inclusive working environment”. The publication follows previous reports of “woke dogma” infecting the civil service.

Breitbart: Vice Media Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection
Vice Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to facilitate its sale to a consortium of lenders including Soros Fund Management, Fortress Investment Group, and Monroe Capital. The lenders reportedly submitted a credit bid of roughly $225m. Vice's filing stated that it had between $500m and $1bn in assets, and over 5,000 creditors. The move comes after Buzzfeed News closed and other media companies, including Vox Media, ABC News, NPR, and Insider, have downsized. ##

Evans was identified through evidence including DNA and ballistics links, and is serving a five-year sentence in an unrelated robbery case.

Fox News: NYC skyscrapers attempting to reduce emissions by turning to carbon capture systems
Manhattan skyscrapers are now equipping themselves with carbon capture systems to trap and sell carbon dioxide emissions to manufacturers. New York city has passed a law requiring all buildings above 25,000 square feet to reduce emissions, or face escalating fines, affecting over half the buildings in the city. Carbon capture systems strip out carbon dioxide emissions which are then directed into tanks and sold to make carbonated beverages or soap. The CO2 at Manhattan's luxury high-rise is being sold on to a concrete manufacturer in Brooklyn. Critics say buildings should switch to electricity instead as carbon capture systems simply put emissions somewhere else.

The RV community is often helpful to fellow travelers, but one couple experienced a stressful travel day when they had two tire blowouts on their fifth wheel on the side of a busy highway, and other RV drivers didn't slow down or move over as required by the Move Over law. All 50 states have this traffic law, but it applies only to emergency or law vehicles in most states, although a few are including tow trucks and sometimes disabled vehicles. Violators face fines or community service and even jail time depending on the state. Always follow Move Over laws when a vehicle is on the side of the road, and carry a roadside emergency kit with hazards to increase visibility in case of an emergency.
