The Federalist Papers: Durham Releases Damning Report: FBI, DOJ Lacked Evidence Needed to Open Trump Investigation
Durham Releases Damning Report: FBI, DOJ Lacked Evidence Needed to Open Trump Investigation
Special Counsel John Durham found that the Department of Justice and the FBI lacked evidence to begin the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into the Donald Trump campaign over alleged collusion with Russia. Durham’s report reveals that senior FBI personnel lacked analytical rigor and engaged in activities that were inconsistent with strict fidelity to the law. The report also indicates that Trump’s political opponents provided the crossfire hurricane investigation with significant reliance on investigative leads. The report suggests that the FBI and the DOJ did not adequately examine or question the DNC bank records in the fall of 2016 and used the unsubstantiated Steele dossier to attain FISA warrants to spy on members of Trump’s campaign.

Daily Wire: DeSantis Blasts Feds Over Durham Trump-Russia Report; Previously Pushed DOJ Prosecute Those Involved
DeSantis Blasts Feds Over Durham Trump-Russia Report; Previously Pushed DOJ Prosecute Those Involved
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized federal law enforcement officials for their role in the 2016 FBI investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion, saying they "manufactured a false conspiracy theory." His remarks came in response to special counsel John Durham's report which found no evidence to support the probe. DeSantis called for accountability and a clean house at these agencies.

As a member of Congress, DeSantis wrote a letter urging the criminal prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and others involved in the investigation. The letter accused Comey of leaking classified information, Clinton of hiding campaign payments to the firm that produced the now-discredited Steele dossier, and Lynch of threatening a person with who had dirt on Clinton. DeSantis also raised concerns regarding the presentation of false and/or unverified information to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in connection with former Trump aide, Carter Page.

CNN's Jake Tapper says Durham report 'devastating for the FBI,' findings do 'exonerate' Trump 'to a degree'
CNN's Jake Tapper discussed the Durham report in his show, saying that it is "devastating" for the FBI, but it does "exonerate" former President Trump to an extent. The report by Special Counsel John Durham revealed that the FBI failed to uphold their mission in relation to possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia and that senior FBI personnel had a lack of analytical rigor when it came to information from politically-affiliated entities. The report also criticized former FBI Director James Comey and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. Former President Donald Trump called for Comey and Democrats to be held accountable for wasting years on an investigation that shouldn't have been launched.

Fox News: DeSantis, GOP shred FBI following release of Durham findings in Trump-Russia probe: 'Clean house'
DeSantis, GOP shred FBI following release of Durham findings in Trump-Russia probe: 'Clean house'
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Republicans criticized the FBI after the release of the John Durham report on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. DeSantis called for the need to "clean house" and holding these agencies accountable for their abuse of power. Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called for the agency to be shut down, while senators and representatives described the actions of the FBI as corrupt, subversive, and politicized. The report spanned more than 300 pages and found that senior FBI personnel lacked analytical rigor and that the FBI failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law.

61 Hacks Who Peddled Collusion And Should Never Be Trusted Again
Some high-profile figures in U.S. politics, media, and intelligence helped shape the idea of collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and the Russian government, which was recently debunked by special counsel Robert Mueller's report. Among them are former British spy Christopher Steele, former National Security Agency lawyer Susan Hennessey, former CIA director John Brennan, Obama national security director James Clapper, MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes, and CNN's Ken Dilanian and Manu Raju. Pulitzer prize-winning publications like The New York Times also added to the conspiracy theories.

The Blaze: Trump issues scathing response after FBI replies to accusations of bias from Durham Report
Trump issues scathing response after FBI replies to accusations of bias from Durham Report
The FBI responded to accusations made in the final Durham Report which found that the agency had improperly opened an investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016 without proper evidence. The FBI claimed that it had already addressed many of the report's issues and had put reforms in place that would have prevented the missteps identified in the report. Trump responded more fiercely, calling the activities surrounded the Russian collusion probe a "total disgrace" and promising to say more about it in the future.

Special Counsel Durham's report on the Trump-Russia probe has been released, which found that the FBI applied a higher standard of scrutiny against the Trump campaign in 2016 than it did to similar accusations against Hillary Clinton's campaign. The use of the Steele dossier, with its dubious claims and sources, to bolster the argument for an investigation was also criticized. CNN's Jake Tapper described the report as "devastating" to the FBI and suggested that it exonerated Trump "to a degree."

The Imaginative Conservative: The Left vs. Natural Law
The Left vs. Natural Law
Natural law theory is gaining immense traction among conservative jurists and legal scholars who believe that a moral code is written on the hearts of men, valid for all peoples and places, providing a basis for moral certainty guiding human action. The left is taking the country to chaos through bizarre misinterpretations of the law, no longer relying upon precedent or even the strict lines of the Constitution. Naturally, anyone who affirms that there is a higher unchangeable law can expect opposition from the left, which fears a law that has solid foundations and definitions (, ).

IN-DEPTH: UK Intel, FBI Line Agents Scoffed at Trump-Russia Investigation Since Beginning, Notes Durham Report
FBI agents and UK intelligence officers were skeptical about the grounds for the 2016 investigation of Trump campaign aides for colluding with Russia. UK intelligence officials discussed the probe with FBI agents, who admitted they had no more information, according to a report by Special Counsel John Durham. FBI opening documents suggested George Papadopoulos had suggested Russia would supply information to damage Hillary Clinton's campaign, but Durham found no evidence of such a discussion. Some US officials expressed anti-Trump sentiments and more senior FBI leaders failed to scrutinise the investigation, the report said.

CNN’s Jake Tapper Says Durham Report Devastating To FBI, Exonerates Trump ‘To A Degree’
CNN anchor Jake Tapper acknowledges that the 2016 Trump-Russia investigation report from John Durham does partially exonerate Donald Trump, while condemning the FBI for their handling of the investigation. The report found no evidence to support a Trump-Russia scandal and found significant issues regarding the FBI's adherence to the law and treatment of the investigation. Tapper's comments have stirred backlash from critics who view the remarks as propagandizing and pushing the collusion hoax.

“I’m not sure what he’s saying, that his candidates did well in the midterms” – Gov DeSantis responds to Trump
Florida Governor DeSantis called for the rejection of the "culture of losing" within the Republican Party during a trip to Iowa. Former President Trump, who DeSantis is believed to be a likely contender to replace in 2024, took issue with the comments and called DeSantis a "loser" in a recent interview. DeSantis responded by saying that Trump's comments made little sense and suggested that if Trump had done well in the past, then the Republican Party would have won more seats during the 2020 election.

DeSantis argued that the Republican Party has had poor results in recent election cycles, despite favorable circumstances in 2022. He noted that his successful governance of Florida has resulted in a red wave of support, with significant gains made among key groups such as Latinos, women, and independent voters. However, he believes that simply winning elections is not enough and that the party must follow through on their shared principles to make them political reality.

Yellen Reaffirms June 1 Debt Default Warning—As GOP Doubts Deadline
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned that the US could default on its debt if lawmakers do not respond to the June 1 deadline for raising the debt ceiling, a deadline that has been questioned by Senate Republicans. Yellen's message to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy cited harm to business and consumer confidence, short-term borrowing costs and the US credit rating as a reason why Congress should avoid raising or suspending the debt limit at the last minute. The federal government’s debt currently sits at $31.4tn, and the fallout from a debt default could impact multiple facets of the government, including social security payments and military salaries, as well as financial markets and American jobs ( ).

Sudan: Churches, Mosques, and Hospitals Attacked as Junta Showdown Continues
Hospitals, churches, and mosques were attacked in Khartoum over the weekend as the war between rival factions of Sudan's military junta escalated. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan "Hemedti" Dagalo, a former camel trader turned brutal militia commander, have been accused of carrying out the attacks. The RSF has a history of human rights abuses, using rape, robbery, and murder against both rebels and peaceful demonstrators. The conflict between the two military leaders has driven hundreds of thousands of people from their homes and driven most foreigners out of the country.

Forbes: When U.S. Pilots Vote To Strike, It Scares Customers But Little Else
When U.S. Pilots Vote To Strike, It Scares Customers But Little Else
Pilots at several US airlines have recently voted to strike, including at Delta, American and Southwest; however, the law does not allow a strike until the Railway Labor Act (RLA) process is followed, a detailed process to negotiate collectively-bargained agreements that frequently takes years, minimising disruption by strikes. The RLA was initially applied to commercial airlines in 1936, it established personnel contracts as amendable, obliging management and labour to work under the terms until new agreements are reached, and calls for federal mediators to be brought in when there are difficulties. A Presidential Emergency Board can also be convened to stop a strike.

Pilot strikes in the US are very rare due to the RLA process. Pilot wages are increasing because the market is undersupplied, with military recruitment ceasing to be a major source of new pilots and regulatory changes increasing training requirements at the same time as limiting the pool of pilots. Prices for flights are already high due to high demand, and the short-term high from pilot strike votes fights against higher salaries, as the money to pay pilots comes from the company’s earnings. The RLAs to be seen as a model law because it was written collaboratively between labour and management to avoid disruptions by strikes, and remains largely unchanged from the initial 1926 Railways Labor Act implemented to limit disruptions to the overall economy.

Sen. Ron Johnson on COVID Response: Govt Ignored Science, Embraced Vaccine Agenda
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said that the leading health officials and public policy-makers failed to follow science and natural immunity, leading the U.S.'s response to the COVID-19 pandemic to become a "miserable failure." He also pointed out that there were risks to taking the vaccine, which the Biden administration did not acknowledge. The senator mentioned issues with vaccine trials, including potential problems with the data used by the federal government in the approval process and the lack of transparency in data collection and analyses.

Johnson highlights the testimonies of Dr. Marty Makary and Dr. Margery Smelkinson, who testified that government officials were ignoring evidence of effective natural immunity in favor of massive mandatory vaccine rollouts. The study examines the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines' benefits, the potentially deadly cardiovascular risks associated with the jabs, and overall vaccine effectiveness. Johnson feels encouraged by the expert testimonies but says people need to focus on absolute effectiveness in making their decision on whether or not to be vaccinated.
