The Epoch Times: NYC Converts Hotels to Shelters to Accommodate Expected Influx of Illegal Immigrants
The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City is being reopened to provide housing for up to 1,000 illegal immigrants who are expected to arrive in the city due to the end of pandemic-era immigration restrictions. The city is also converting other hotels into emergency shelters, but officials are concerned that there will not be enough space for everyone, leading to some new arrivals potentially living on the streets. The situation has also led to pushback from local officials and concerns over costs, with Mayor Eric Adams accusing the federal government of turning its back on the city.

Red State: BREAKING: 306 Page Durham Report Released, Blows up Any Idea of Collusion
The Durham Report has been released, with highlights suggesting the FBI had no actual evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. The report also reveals that the Clinton campaign was fully aware of, and even okay with, a foreign contribution in violation of federal law, and that the FBI made no effort to investigate this.
Fox News: 1 lawsuit over appointment of Mississippi judges dismissed, another case still pending
Mississippi's Hinds County Chancery Judge Dewayne Thomas dismissed one lawsuit against a new law allowing appointment of judges in Jackson, Mississippi. The plaintiffs argued their rights were trampled since most judges in the state are elected. The judge wrote that disappointment with the legislative process doesn't justify judicial relief. However, a separate lawsuit is still active in federal court.
Republican Governor Tate Reeves signed laws last month that resulted in clashes with Democratic leaders in Hinds County over court appointments and state policing in the majority-Black city. The changes aimed at reducing crime were protested by local residents who felt state officials were usurping power. The national NAACP and its local chapter filed a federal lawsuit soon after the laws were signed and U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate temporarily blocked the appointment of four judges. Wingate set a hearing for May 22 to determine if his order should be extended.
National Review: The Corner: Read the Durham Report

The Epoch Times: George Soros Responds to Viral Rumors About His Death
George Soros, the left-wing billionaire investor, confirmed he is alive and healthy after rumors on social media claimed he died of a heart attack. The false news triggered confusion, and despite several calls to Twitter to take down viral posts, some still remain circulating. Soros has been a controversial figure in the United States due to the significant sums of money poured into left-wing district attorney campaigns, which have led to accusations of serious mismanagement and increased crime rates. Despite these controversies, Soros denies any backing of individual political candidates, highlighting rather the importance of serious charges against the former president, Donald Trump.
Breitbart: Nolte: Fascist New Republic Demands Town Hall Ban

Fox News: Belarusian opposition leader says ‘be well prepared’ amid Lukashenko illness rumors
Belarusian opposition leader Tsikhanouskaya urges the international community to prepare for any scenario amid speculation over President Lukashenko’s health, as he has not appeared publicly in nearly a week. Despite state news agencies avoiding the topic, rumors suggest he is unwell after a recent visit to Russia, with the opposition leader calling for quick action to turn Belarus towards democracy and prevent Russian interference.
State news agencies have reported that Lukashenko was visiting the air force central command, but there has been no official statement from his administration regarding his absence from a major national holiday. Street blockades and security forces near a medical center have added to the rumors of his health issues, leading the opposition leader to prepare for all scenarios and maintain the fight for democracy in Belarus.
Daily Wire: Durham Report Makes ‘Sobering’ Findings About FBI’s Handling Of Trump-Russia Probe
John Durham's report found that the FBI had no evidence to support a Trump-Russia scandal when it began its investigation, and found “sobering” differences in how it approached the Trump probe compared to other politically sensitive investigations. The FBI knew it was nothing but “rumor and speculation,” it said.
The Blaze: BREAKING: Durham Report finds that FBI was biased against Trump, should never have opened Russian collusion investigation
Special Counsel John Durham released his report on the origins of the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Durham criticized the FBI for opening up the investigation with little evidence and utilizing “raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence." The report also found that the FBI did not corroborate any of the allegations made in the Steele Dossier. Only one conviction was obtained through Durham's investigation, that of low-level FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith.
Liberty Nation: BREAKING: Durham Report Released: They All Knew It Was A Lie
The DOJ released John Durham's report on matters related to the 2016 Presidential Campaigns. Sales of Bud Light have decreased by more than 20 percent in volume since the boycott began.

Forbes: Elections In Turkey: Erdogan’s Edge Leads To Investor Disappointment
Turkey's president Erdogan fell just short of winning outright in the first round of presidential elections on May 14th and is now heading for a second round on May 28th. His opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, won just under 45% support. Erdogan won 49.5% of votes and has the advantage of incumbency. His unorthodox economic policies and centralization of power, along with his longevity in office, make markets and leaders nervous. The continuation of Erdogan's rule could lead to Turkey's geo-strategic and economic potential underperforming and remaining captive to his preoccupation with controlling power.

The Federalist Papers: Anarchist Anti-Capitalist Cafe Closes Permanently After Introducing 'Pay-What-You-Can' System
A "pay what you can" Toronto coffee shop that claimed to be anti-capitalist has closed its doors. Gabriel Sims-Fewer opened The Anarchist Cafe last year, presenting it as an anti-capitalist, anti-colonial café, shop and radical community space. The cafe sold literature and paraphernalia promoting socialism, communism and revolution. Sims-Fewer conducted a number of interviews extolling the “pay what you want” model, but was criticised by some for being disingenuous. A lack of capital and the inability to weather a quiet winter season left the owner with no alternative but to close the café.

The attire of both women has been frequently compared, with several instances of them wearing similar outfits.

Fox News: Be well: Get regular eye exams to protect vision and catch warning signs early
Only 50% of people undergo annual eye exams despite its significance for overall health and wellness. Eye doctors have an unblocked view of the blood vessels and optic nerve and can identify the early signs of 270 chronic health conditions, including high blood pressure and early signs of diabetes and cancer. Eye exams also detect no early warning signs of cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, and allow early intervention to prevent sight damage. Regular eye checkups should be accorded equal priority as physicals and dental cleanings.

PJ Media: WHO Promotes 'Early Childhood Masturbation' in Official Sex Ed Guidance
The World Health Organisation (WHO) is facing pressure to withdraw guidance for schools recommending that toddlers explore their gender identities and be taught early childhood masturbation. The WHO claims that "sexuality education starts from birth" and is promoting their advice on how to "talk about sexual matters" with young children across Europe. The guidelines suggest that four-to-six year olds should be taught to discuss sexual matters and pleasure when touching their own body, whilst consolidating their gender identity. The broader movement behind this is normalising the sexualisation of children under the guise of "human rights."

Fox News: Girl wounded in Serbian school shooting has died, bringing death toll to 10
A girl injured in the school shooting in Belgrade earlier this month has died, bringing the death toll to 10. The 13-year-old shooter, who used his father's gun, killed eight children and a guard and injured six more students and a teacher. Serbia's government has launched a gun crackdown, including a one-month amnesty for unregistered weapons, stricter control of gun owners, a moratorium on new licenses, and prison sentences for possession of illegal guns. Criticism of President Vucic, accused of fostering hate speech against opponents and taking control over media and institutions, has led to protests and calls for his resignation.
Fox News: Husband of South Carolina bride killed on wedding night says ‘she’s up there smiling’ at outpouring of support
A vigil honoring Samantha Miller, who died in a car accident on her wedding night caused by an alleged drunken driver, was held at the Folly Beach shoreline in South Carolina. Miller's husband, Aric Hutchinson, who was seriously injured in the incident, attended. He said he could feel the outpouring of love and support and added that Miller would have loved it there. Attendees paddled out and tossed red, yellow and white carnations with notes bearing Miller’s name into the ocean, and friends and family celebrated a life that they said Miller lived to her fullest.
Jamie Lee Komoroski, the driver who caused the accident, was driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. Komoroski, who was driving 65 mph on a dimly lit road with a posted speed limit of 25 mph, is held without bond, charged with three counts of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death and one count of reckless homicide. Miller's mother called the collision a choice and not an accident, adding that a young lady chose to drink, get behind the wheel and plow down her daughter.
The Federalist: Chris Murphy’s Dangerous Threat Of 'Popular Revolt' Threatens The American Public
Senator Chris Murphy warns of a potential "popular revolt" if the Supreme Court does not endorse the Biden administration's proposed gun control agenda. Murphy's comments have been labeled as dangerous and reckless, as they seem to offer a wink-and-a-nod to those who would seize the moment to lash out or invite and incite violence against government institutions. He appears to be frustrated with the Second Amendment and the pre-existing right of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms against a potentially tyrannical government, as well as the fact that the history and tradition test has been correctly applied in a recent federal court ruling that a federal law barring the sale of handguns to adults under 21 is unconstitutional. Sewell, once a booming coke production site, and its coke ovens can still be seen along the trail.

The Epoch Times: Netanyahu: Israel Alters Balance of Deterrence With Islamic Jihad
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has changed the deterrence equation with Islamic Jihad through Operation Shield and Arrow, which took down half of the organization’s leadership. During the five-day clash between Israeli forces and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza, a total of 1,468 rockets were launched toward Israel, but the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted 437 rockets with a 96% success rate. The conflict claimed the lives of 33 people in Gaza and two people in Israel, and Israel maintains that it takes measures to avoid civilian casualties. #(ForeignAffairs)
The ceasefire between Israel and the terrorist organization was established on Saturday evening and has been upheld thus far, although shortly after the ceasefire took effect, a rocket fired by Gaza terrorists landed in an open area of southern Israel. As Jerusalem Day and the flag march approaches on May 18, Netanyahu expressed commitment to Israel’s security and determination to hold the event. Critics of the event argue that Palestinians perceive the march as an attempt to assert Jewish dominance over the city. The truce will be put to the test later this week with the upcoming march as tensions could once again flare up when Israelis hold their annual event passing through the sensitive area of Jerusalem’s Old City, which the Palestinians view as provocative. #(ForeignAffairs)
Red State: Unprecedented Gun Control: Democrats in Government Are Trying to Disarm Young Americans
Democrats in Congress are pushing a bill that would raise the federal age for purchasing semiautomatic firearms from 18 to 25, citing concerns over mass shootings. The proposal is being met with criticism from supporters of gun rights. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) released a statement criticizing the proposed legislation as an unjustified infringement on the Second Amendment rights of young adults. Opponents argue that the bill unfairly restricts law-abiding citizens from exercising their constitutional right to self-defense and gun ownership, and would turn millions of undeserving Americans into criminals and deprive them of the means to defend themselves.
