Townhall: Facebook Wants Democrats to Help Rid It of a Competitor
Facebook Wants Democrats to Help Rid It of a Competitor
Mark Zuckerberg's donations to Democratic electoral efforts have raised questions about election integrity, resulting in Facebook being subject to political pressure and criticism for censoring opinions. Facebook has gone back and forth on accepting ads and videos, and Zuckerberg has attempted to launch a lobbying outfit that has not succeeded. He is interested in eliminating competitors, and while Facebook has argued that TikTok's content is dangerous to children, it seeks to eliminate a competitor that is earning more revenue than Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter combined.

Daily Wire: FBI Offered To Pay Steele $1M For Anti-Trump Evidence, Paid Possible Russian Spy Despite Knowing His Info Was Bad
FBI Offered To Pay Steele $1M For Anti-Trump Evidence, Paid Possible Russian Spy Despite Knowing His Info Was Bad
The FBI paid Christopher Steele up to $1m for dirt on Donald Trump's links to Russia, and paid his primary source, Igor Danchenko, hundreds of thousands of dollars even after he failed to produce any evidence. The bureau paid Danchenko $220,000, even though it closed a counterintelligence investigation into him in 2011 because it believed he had left the US when he had not. The FBI had evidence that Danchenko was tied to Russian intelligence, as well as knowing that he was the primary source of Steele's unproven allegations against Trump. Amid the bureau's ongoing pursuit of Carter Page and Michael Flynn and political connections to Trump, FBI management resisted efforts to close Danchenko as a source and paid significantly more after Durham began his investigation into FBI misconduct.

Townhall: Liberal Racism and the Truth About ‘White Supremacy’
Liberal Racism and the Truth About ‘White Supremacy’
Democrats argue that white supremacists are the top domestic terrorist threat in the US, despite them being responsible for only 21 out of 9,941 murders of black people in 2020. President Joe Biden recently encouraged a graduating class at Howard University to stand up against the poison of white supremacy, but the threat from white supremacy they are facing is nothing. The truth is that drug dealers, who Democrats refuse to prosecute, are exponentially more likely to murder innocent black people than any other configuration of human being. Democrats are lying to reinforce one of the most important narratives they have going and obscure the fact that unchecked progressive Democrat policies truly are the greatest threat to black lives in the country.

Breitbart: Carville: 'Pathetic' Durham's Probe 'Got a Plea for a Parking Ticket'
Carville: 'Pathetic' Durham's Probe 'Got a Plea for a Parking Ticket'
Democratic strategist James Carville criticized special counsel John Durham's investigation into the origins of the FBI investigation into former President Donald Trump's potential ties to the Russian government. Carville called Durham a "pathetic character" and said his report was "blatantly false." He also said that the investigation, which lasted four years and cost millions of dollars, only resulted in a plea for a parking ticket. Carville believes that Durham's investigation showed the fraudulence and shallowness of the people involved.

Fox News: LAURA INGRAHAM: The Russia collusion investigation was a complete and total sham
LAURA INGRAHAM: The Russia collusion investigation was a complete and total sham
Laura Ingraham calls the Trump-Russia Investigation a sham, highlighting John Durham's report as revealing corruption and political bias at the highest levels of agencies within the federal government. Durham's conclusion was that the FBI "failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law." Ingraham asserts the investigation was a "politically motivated use of federal resources," and that no one will do anything about it.

The Epoch Times: IRS Whistleblower Removed From Hunter Biden Criminal Investigation, at Request of DOJ, Attorneys Say
IRS Whistleblower Removed From Hunter Biden Criminal Investigation, at Request of DOJ, Attorneys Say
The IRS has removed a whistleblower and his entire team from an ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and business dealings, in what the whistleblower’s attorneys claim is a “clearly retaliatory” move ordered by the Department of Justice. Although details of the investigation have been sparse, President Joe Biden’s son has been under federal investigation since last year for alleged tax fraud, lobbying crimes, and money laundering. The whistleblowing agent, who has been overseeing the sensitive investigation since early 2020, had previously raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest in the Hunter Biden investigation. The removal is likely to raise concerns of political bias and obstruction of congressional inquiries.

Breitbart: Jake Tapper: Durham Report 'Devastating to the FBI' — 'To a Degree Does Exonerate Donald Trump'
Jake Tapper: Durham Report 'Devastating to the FBI' — 'To a Degree Does Exonerate Donald Trump'
Jake Tapper of CNN addressed the Durham report, which criticized the FBI for its investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 presidential election. Tapper noted that the report was “devastating” to the FBI and exonerated former President Donald Trump. Despite the report not producing the bombshell indictments some Republicans had hoped for, it still exonerates Trump to some degree.

The American Spectator: The Paradoxical Decline of Female Happiness in Egalitarian Norway
The Paradoxical Decline of Female Happiness in Egalitarian Norway
Norway's perfect egalitarianism is failing women as 22% visited their doctor due to psychiatric symptoms and women in executive positions are declining. Despite limitless opportunities and world-renowned childcare, burnout and depression are common, known as the paradoxical decline of female happiness. Prescribing policies for gender equality, such as mandatory paternity leave, without monitoring side-effects has worsened the situation. Rather, decreasing dosages of one drug at a time while monitoring carefully will provide better long-term results.

The Epoch Times: Cambodia Poll Body Disqualifies Sole Opposition Party From July Election
Cambodia Poll Body Disqualifies Sole Opposition Party From July Election
The Cambodian election commission has barred the Candlelight opposition party from competing in July’s general election for failing to provide classified registration documents, leaving the ruling Cambodian People’s Party free to dominate. Civil society leaders and diplomats have expressed concern at Prime Minister Hun Sen’s growing suppression of opponents. Reincarnated from the popular Cambodia National Rescue Party, disbanded in 2017 before an election swept by CPP, Candlelight is just over a year old. Hun Sen has frequently said the CPP will rule for up to 100 years and scores of opposition party members have been detained or convicted of crimes.

Townhall: The Green Movement Is a Jobs Killer. Are Unions Finally Figuring This Out?
The Green Movement Is a Jobs Killer. Are Unions Finally Figuring This Out?
Union bosses are realizing that the radical climate change agenda of environmentalists is a threat to union jobs. The United Auto Workers recently announced it would withhold its endorsement of Biden for a second term as his all-in embrace of far-left green policies is threatening worker jobs. Biden intends to end all gas car production within a decade, which is a death sentence for UAW workers. Biden's goal is to eliminate traditional cars and trucks from the road, leaving electric cars to be produced in China and developing countries controlled by Beijing.

On this day in history, May 16, 1986, Tom Cruise Cold War blockbuster 'Top Gun' jets across silver screen
The classic Hollywood movie "Top Gun" was released on May 16, 1986, and became an instant hit. Starring Tom Cruise as Maverick, a cocky Navy pilot at the elite "Top Gun" flight school, the action-romance featured exciting aerial scenes and an award-winning soundtrack, including the hit song "Take My Breath Away." Despite lukewarm reviews from critics, the movie's impact on pop culture was significant, turning Maverick, Goose, Iceman, and other characters' names into idioms and phrases still used today. The success of "Top Gun" also solidified Cruise's status as a leading Hollywood star.

Authorities in Los Angeles are warning residents about "tranq," a drug made of animal tranquilizer xylazine, which has grisly side effects when mixed with illegal drugs including fentanyl. Potential side effects of using the drug include skin and muscle rotting. The US government has labelled xylazine an "emerging threat," and the DEA said that a kilogram of the powder can be purchased online from Chinese suppliers for $6-$20.

Spectator USA: Inside the academic publishing grift
Inside the academic publishing grift
The editorial board of NeuroImage magazine, the leading publication for brain-imaging research in the world, has resigned en masse in protest against publisher Elsevier's "greedy and unethical behavior." The company has refused to reduce the journal's "publication fees", that scientists pay for their findings to be published on an open-access, free-to-read basis. NeuroImage is not an outlier in the academic world, with publication fees for open-access journals running into thousands of dollars. Academic publishing is the circulatory system of the commonwealth of knowledge and is currently being throttled by greed.

The academic publishing industry is dominated by a few large companies, which somehow make higher profit margins than Google, Amazon and Facebook despite relying on unpaid contributors. The internet has given rise to a "soak-the-contributor" model whereby scientists pay publishers for the privilege of publication in order to tick vital boxes for UK Research Excellence Framework. This has led to a captive-audience model for the publication of academic books which bear little decipherable relation to production costs and must be subscribed to by academic institutions at exorbitant prices. The situation is said to be "grotesque" and has led to the mass resignation of neuroscientist editors at the conclusion of this dispute.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Public Safety Minister Bill Blair visited Edmonton for an update on Canadian soldiers fighting wildfires in Alberta. They visited the Canadian Armed Forces base to receive a brief on wildfire threats and also met with displaced Albertans at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Approximately 2,500 firefighters are attempting to contain blazes from Red Deer to High Level, including about 300 soldiers. The government stated it is negotiating with several countries for additional help with firefighters. The Alberta government has sent over $14.8m in emergency, one-time financial assistance to evacuees, has distributed more than $2.5m in debit cards, and has issued exemptions to students evacuated from school due to the fires.

The Epoch Times: Oregon Bill Would Require Insurers to Cover Sex Changes, Not Detransitions
Oregon Bill Would Require Insurers to Cover Sex Changes, Not Detransitions
Oregon lawmakers are outraged about a proposal that would require insurance coverage for gender changes for transgender people without requiring coverage for those who wish to reverse the procedure. Children would be allowed to have “gender-affirming treatment” without parental knowledge or consent, making Oregon a sex-change surgery sanctuary state for minors. The bill would also allow children to have abortions without parents’ consent, with HB 2002 putting parents out of the loop. Republican senators walked out to prevent the passage of the law.
