Fox News: NYC faces ire of residents over plan to house migrants in Brooklyn elementary school gym
New York City leaders are receiving backlash for housing illegal immigrants in a Brooklyn elementary school gym. City Council members have stated that there is no timetable for how long the gym will be used. Residents of the community have expressed outrage, and several migrant families were supposed to be sent to the gym, but the plan was put on hold. The influx of migrants from the southern border has caused the city to struggle with housing and care for them, leading to homeless veterans being booted from hotels in upstate New York.

Fox News: DeSantis slams Disney as legal feud escalates: 'Pound sand'
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dismissed a lawsuit from Disney and plans to take control over the land used by the company's Walt Disney World resort. DeSantis signed a bill revoking Disney's development agreements, arguing that the company benefits from "corporate welfare" through its independent control over the area. Disney's lawsuit claims that DeSantis' actions are a "retribution campaign" after the company opposed an education bill prohibiting discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom until after third grade. DeSantis countered that the actions aim to end the company's long-standing protected status in the state.
The Epoch Times: Braverman Says UK Should Not Need Immigrant Workers to Fill Labour Shortages
UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman has called for measures to reduce legal migration in the country, stating that the UK needs to train its own workforce of lorry drivers and fruit pickers, so as to reduce the demand for immigrant workers. Braverman gave a keynote speech at the National Conservatism conference and argued that while illegal migration remains a priority, legal migration also needs to be controlled. This comes as official figures from the UK’s Office of National Statistics show that net migration is on the rise again, surpassing 500,000. ( )
Braverman went on to argue that immigration cannot happen without integration, calling for those who come to the UK to respect British social norms, learn English and understand and embrace British values. She also criticised identity politics, saying it was the “infinite division of society” and attacked Labour leader Keir Starmer, claiming that his opposition to things he once supported made him a hypocrite. Braverman also commented on claims of collective guilt by white people regarding slavery, stating that nobody should be blamed for what happened before they were born and that the UK should be proud of leading the way in abolishing slavery. Daily Wire: ‘Stand Up To China’: Republicans Press Biden To Take Enforcement Action Against TikTok
Republican lawmakers are urging President Joe Biden to enforce a divestiture of the popular social media app TikTok to an American firm after a national security review concluded that the Chinese-owned app poses significant risks to the United States. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) had ordered ByteDance, the Chinese technology firm which owns TikTok, to sell the app or face a nationwide ban. Despite this, the order remains unenforced. Some lawmakers have brought to attention TikTok's censorship practices and the fact that members of the Chinese Communist Party have access to user data.
Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-SC) and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry (R-NC) wrote in a letter to the White House that Congress will take action to address the national security risks presented by TikTok in the absence of decisive presidential action. ByteDance acknowledged last year that staff members had "spied on the private data of journalists and others in order identify sources behind articles critical of the company." In addition to national security concerns, lawmakers have highlighted the censorship practices implemented by TikTok and the fact that the Chinese Communist Party has access to user data.
The Federalist Papers: ‘This is Not Hyperbole!’: Former Biden Aide Predicts SCOTUS Could Outlaw Black History
Former spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris and MSNBC host Symone Sanders warns of extremist decisions from the Supreme Court. Sanders claims that actions from the court will include attacks on fundamental rights and freedoms such as abolishing Black History and allowing daycare centers to reject Jewish children. She argues that the ruling from previous cases are precursors to this, labeling it a broad attack. Sanders warns of a possible threat to minority-oriented programs and specialized disciplines such as African American or Latin American history. However, these claims appear to incite fear rather than offer a balanced interpretation of the Supreme Court's trajectory.
The New American: Gun Control Debate Ignores the Real Problems - The New American
Gun control advocates argue that only restrictions on gun ownership will keep people safe from mass shooters and criminals, but good people with guns can stop bad people with guns. States with "constitutional carry" have lower homicide rates than states with restrictive gun laws. Red flag laws allow governments to restrict gun ownership without due process. The root cause of rising violence is the decline of traditional morality which respected natural rights, replaced by a nihilistic philosophy that justifies doing whatever is necessary to achieve one's goals. The nihilism devalues human life, promoted by government, schools, media, entertainment, and even some churches, resulting in mass shootings and psychopaths. To replace nihilism with a philosophy that values human life, a limited constitutional government should be restored that recognizes inalienable rights.

Breitbart: Houston Woman Uses Rain Water to Bathe for Two Years
Angelica Pena, a 75-year-old amputee with diabetes, has been without running water in her Houston home for two years since a pipe burst. She has been collecting rainwater for washing and using as a toilet flush. Her caretaker started a GoFundMe that raised $9,000, and plumbers have offered to help. This issue is not unique, as 2.2 million Americans lack access to running water, costing the US economy $8.6 billion annually. Severe environmental conditions, including natural disasters like the 2021 winter storm in Houston, have impacted water access.

Washington Free Beacon: Zelensky Scores New Attack Drones on Successful Euro Tour
Britain is set to provide Ukraine with long-range attack drones and air defence missiles as part of a European effort to counter Russian aggression. During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit, the UK government committed to basic training of Ukrainian pilots from this summer, training which will be given alongside "UK efforts to work with other countries on providing F-16 jets". While the Kremlin took an "extremely negative" view of the UK's decision, the Johnson administration stressed its intention to "remain steadfast in supporting Ukraine and its people to defend itself", saying it is "here for the long term".

Fox News: Israel, Cyprus working on deal to build natural gas processing plant, pipeline in Cyprus
Cyprus and Israel are working on a deal to build a pipeline to convey their natural gas to Cyprus, where it will be liquefied for export to Europe and potentially elsewhere. The pipeline could be finished in 18 months and it will take 2 ½ years to build a liquefaction plant on Cyprus. The project was agreed to by the Israeli government and could include collaboration on projects to get their gas discoveries to market. This is a truncated version of the EastMed pipeline idea and instead of connecting to Europe, gas from Cyprus could reach international markets by ship.
Israeli security used a tool that sent Palestinian protesters threatening messages in 2021. Cyprus has enough gas deposits, as does Israel, for this project to move forward. They will need to negotiate a separate agreement on how much gas from the Cypriot Aphrodite gas field falls within Israeli waters. It was also mentioned that a pipeline to convey Cypriot and Egyptian gas to liquefaction plans in Egypt for export remains separate from the Israeli-Cypriot plan.

Forbes: IRS Poised To Weigh In On Free Tax Prep Service—Sending TurboTax And H&R Block Stocks Sliding
The Biden administration has allocated $15 million for a feasibility study on a free government-run tax filing service; the IRS will release its report this week. Tax filing companies, including TurboTax and H&R Block, have objected to the initiative, which would allow Americans to file directly with the IRS and bypass accountants and private companies that charge a fee. Critics have raised concerns about a conflict of interest, as the IRS would be authorized to audit, collect and enforce taxes. The IRS already offers a free file program for people with incomes under $73,000, but the software is not widely used.
The Epoch Times: Stellantis Stops Construction on Windsor, Ont, EV Battery Plant Amid Fed Dispute
Automaker Stellantis has ceased work on a C$5bn ($3.96bn) electric vehicle battery plant in Windsor, Ontario, claiming the Canadian government did not deliver on hoped-for support. Stellantis and Korean battery make LG Energy Solution had proposed the factory, which was expected to offer 2,500 jobs. All government levels around Windsor were to contribute funding, but Stellantis said the Canadian government had not held up its end of the bargain causing the stoppage. The federal government said talks were ongoing.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford said if the federal government can back a deal with Volkswagen for an C$8.3bn factory in St. Thomas which included subsidies worth up to C$13bn), they should also back Stellantis. Ford added that Ontario had contributed C$500m to both deals, and was ensuring infrastructure for the plant, but that the government in Ottawa had to provide Federal support.

The Blaze: Facebook deletes 'Jesus died so you could live' post over 'hate speech' violation, former writer for TheBlaze says
Facebook censored and then deleted a post by former writer with TheBlaze, Billy Hallowell, that read “Jesus died so you could live” for a supposed violation of hate speech rules. When Hallowell appealed, Facebook sent a message saying they had removed the post because it “does not follow our community standards on hate speech”. Fellow ex-Blaze writer Tre Goins-Phillips said it appeared Facebook “is deciding to ban a sentence that essentially portrays the gospel." Facebook has not replied to requests for comment.
Fox News: Dark-skinned Jesus on stained-glass church window from 1870s prompts debate on Christ's race
A stained-glass window depicting Jesus Christ with dark skin at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Rhode Island is the only known from that era, according to experts. The window was installed in 1878, shortly after the Reconstruction north and south of the American Civil War, and the church building closed in 2010. Scholars are studying the potential intentions of the artist and the woman who commissioned the window, but the inherent message is one of equality; both stories were chosen to profile equality and show Jesus interacting with women as equals. The window has stirred up debates over the role of race and women in 19th-century society.
A stained-glass window installed at St. Mark's Episcopal Church had Jesus Christ depicted as a person of color. The window adorns the now-closed church building in Rhode Island and shows Jesus interacting with other people of color in two different scenes. The window was rediscovered when Hadley Arnold and her family purchased the church to convert it into a home after it closed in 2010. It was made during the administration of former President Hayes, about a decade after the end of American slavery, which would appear to honor people of conscience. The window does not differentiate Jesus based on race, instead, it offers the message of equality.

Fox News: Daughter of late Chicago cop frustrated by crime surge: 'Not the city he was sworn to protect'
Chicago residents have mixed feelings about ultra-progressive incoming mayor, Brandon Johnson, who is set to take control from Lori Lightfoot. Crime and drug problems are still rampant in the city, with voters naming it as one of their top concerns. Johnson promises to prioritize tackling crime, but some residents remain skeptical, with one woman lamenting her police officer father who would be "rolling in his grave" over the current situation .
One resident who lost his son to a drug overdose criticized the push to decriminalize drug use, calling it "soft euthanasia", and urged leaders to focus on the drug problem instead of gun control. Lack of consequences for criminals was also cited as the culprit for the spike in violence by a former FBI official. Outgoing Mayor Lightfoot's tenure saw 2,784 homicides and 14,681 shooting incidents, with no improvement from her predecessor, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and growing disrespect for law enforcement .

Fox News: Jack Carr hopes AI can be used for society's 'betterment,' but 'hope is not a course of action'
Bestselling author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr is ahead of the game when it comes to understanding artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Carr has been conducting extensive research into the military and national security uses of AI, inspiring his latest novel, "Only the Dead." He believes that while AI has the potential to transform industry, there is a risk it could be used for "evil" purposes. Carr also said AI may lead to the galvanisation of unions to protect jobs that are threatened by the technology.
Carr's new book, "Only the Dead," features protagonist James Reece, a former Navy SEAL who faces a global conspiracy, a world on the brink of war, and a group of global elites ready to take control, all while there is a weak US facing political division, shocking assassinations and rampant inflation. Carr's writing puts issues, such as truth and consequences, in the forefront, while holding attention with its hero's journey and a rich group of characters who change as they experience life. Carr believes that leadership, training, the study of warfare and even dealing with people all weave into his novels in a natural and central way.

The Epoch Times: Bring Back the Clothesline
Using a clothesline is superior to using an electric dryer as it dries faster and restores the whiteness of whites. However, clotheslines can be difficult to rely on exclusively due to seasonal issues, and regulations that eliminated phosphates from laundry soap have led to dingy clothes. The cultural stigma around clotheslines as a sign of poverty is also a barrier to their adoption. Despite this, many modern technologies are not necessarily progress, and sometimes the old ways are better.
