The American Spectator: Gov. Shapiro, Choose School Choice Over Union Power Grabs
Gov. Shapiro, Choose School Choice Over Union Power Grabs
Government unions in Pennsylvania have contributed more than $20 million to Democratic candidates and causes during the 2021-22 election cycle. Consequently, they are reaping the benefits of their political donations, further inflating the costs of collective bargaining agreements for taxpayers. HB 950, a proposed constitutional amendment that would impose union mandates on employees who do not necessarily share the political agenda of union leaders, was passed by House Democrats, plus one Republican, and could be advanced into law if it gains significant Republican support. This could lead to Pennsylvania instituting union mandates that are currently in operation in Illinois.

While Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro opposes right-to-work laws, he could pivot towards lifeline scholarships, which would allow tax dollars to return to parents with students in the state’s lowest-performing public schools, providing a needed alternative to schools controlled by government unions. However, unions that endorsed and financially supported Shapiro have consistently lobbied and pressured lawmakers to reject scholarship programs and other school choice initiatives. If the amendment becomes law, government unions will have even more power to impede meaningful reform, a move in conflict with the desires of parents, students, and teachers alike, and supported by the facts and evidence.

Breitbart: Graham Calls on Durbin to Hold Senate Hearing on Durham Report
Graham Calls on Durbin to Hold Senate Hearing on Durham Report
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) calls for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman to hold a hearing on Durham Report, which he claims is "a damning indictment of the FBI under James Comey and the operations of the Department of Justice." The report criticized the FBI's politically motivated investigation into the Trump campaign for non-existent Russian collusion, which it says was launched and continued as part of a political agenda. Graham slammed the mainstream media for its reporting, saying the New York Times and Washington Post were given Pulitzer Prizes for writing a bunch of politically motivated crap, and suggested those unfairly maligned should sue the FBI.

The Epoch Times: House Unanimously Passes Bill Limiting Federal Government Access to Phone, Email Data
House Unanimously Passes Bill Limiting Federal Government Access to Phone, Email Data
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to restrict federal government access to personal email and cellphone data, including limiting non-disclosure orders (NDOs) to a 30-day window, with opportunities for extension as needed. The bill would require prosecutors to demonstrate to a court that a "substantially adverse event" would be likely from failure to issue an NDO, and it would also impose stricter scrutiny of such orders. The legislation, sponsored by Representative Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Scott Fitzgerald (R-Wis.), passed with a unanimous 412-0 vote. The bill could limit the Department of Justice’s ability to abuse a process that allows prosecutors to obtain gag orders when trying to obtain a person’s electronic communications data.

SEAN HANNITY: The Trump-Russia collusion hoax looks more like an attempted coup

National Review: The Corner: The Ahistorical Insanity of the 14th Amendment Debt Argument
The Corner: The Ahistorical Insanity of the 14th Amendment Debt Argument
The 14th amendment did not disturb the allocation of powers between the president and Congress to fund the government, as Congress had the sole power to raise taxes or borrow money already. The context of the time, with Andrew Johnson as president, only strengthens this case.

The American Spectator: Media Coverage of Jordan Neely’s Death Is a Microcosm of a Larger Issue
Media Coverage of Jordan Neely’s Death Is a Microcosm of a Larger Issue
The media's obsession with race is driving a decline in positive sentiment surrounding relations between white and black Americans, according to Gallup polling. The recent coverage of Jordan Neely's death on the New York City subway, in which race has been overstated by the mainstream media, is a clear example. Although race had nothing to do with the incident, news outlets point out the race of the two men involved. The New York Times and the Washington Post are just two examples where the use of the terms "racist," "racists," and "racism" increased drastically between 2011 and 2019. Americans are being manipulated into seeing the world through a race-centered lens, leading to division.

Front Page Magazine: Richard Dreyfuss and the Difference Between Cultural Capitulation and Cultural Sensitivity
Richard Dreyfuss and the Difference Between Cultural Capitulation and Cultural Sensitivity
Richard Dreyfus and others are pushing back against what they see as a harmful trend of cultural capitulation. They argue that quotas and requirements meant to help marginalized groups achieve representation in industries like entertainment can stifle creativity and turn art into another form of politics, instead of letting artists express themselves freely. While cultural sensitivity is important, they say, capitulating to the latest fads in political correctness risks going too far and potentially creating a society that treats people like children.

The Blaze: Republican-backed bill would prohibit performing gender transitions on minors, slap violators with fine and/or imprisonment
Republican-backed bill would prohibit performing gender transitions on minors, slap violators with fine and/or imprisonment
Republicans have introduced two bills aimed at prohibiting gender transition services for minors. One of the proposals would prevent US federal funds from being spent on gender transition, the other making it an offense to perform or provide a referral for any gender transition process on someone under the age of 18. Those subjected to the procedures would not face punishment. Previously put forward, the bills propose that doctors should be prevented from assisting in child mutilation procedures and highlight the invasive and irreversible nature of some transition procedures. The situation is exposing vulnerable children to harmful ideation, according to some causing detrimental health risks.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, CDC director, is leaving her post after stating that the end of the COVID-19 pandemic marks a significant transition for public health in the country. Her time as CDC director has been controversial, highlighted by the sudden departure of Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. Dr. Messonnier was a key figure in the early briefings on the pandemic, warning of the potential for a pandemic in the US. However, Dr. Walensky failed to explain why she was leaving the CDC, inviting scrutiny of Dr. Messonnier's actions during her tenure.

The American Spectator: Late-Term Abortionist Featured in Atlantic Describes His Nightmares and Haunting Visions
Late-Term Abortionist Featured in Atlantic Describes His Nightmares and Haunting Visions
Abortionist Warren Hern shares nightmares with writer Elaine Godfrey who describes his experiences. Pregnant women, whose unborn children are up to seven months old, receive abortions from Hern who still practices at a clinic in Boulder. Hern said that after years of performing the procedure, the psychological effects of the act no longer affected him, but he still has troubling memories of previous abortions. It is unnerving that Hern is one of America's leading late-term abortionists, with more women seeking his services since the case of Roe Vs. Wade.
