Washington Free Beacon: AOC's Tweet Inspired Trump To Go Full Beast Mode During CNN Town Hall
During a CNN town hall, Donald Trump received a boost from tweets of upset Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Trump's team apparently told him to continue his behavior, which became more aggressive after the break. Ratings for the event were high, drawing 3.3 million viewers, but many criticized CNN for allowing Trump to speak.
Red State: Cash is Nice, But Cali’s Reparations Task Force Wants a Real Estate Portfolio Too
California's reparations task force is brainstorming ideas for reducing 'residential racial segregation' in the state, one of which is passing ordinances which maintain or lessen residential segregation. They are also proposing ideas for a "right to return” for black residents who have been displaced due to "racial terror." The Governor, Gavin Newsom, has since tried to backpedal on giving 1.8 million people an average of $360,000 each in reparations, angering Californians. The task force's final recommendations include more housing-related proposals to decrease segregation, such as funding anti-racism education programs for housing providers, repealing policies that limit those with criminal records from renting and establishing DEI certification programs for affordable housing contractors and decision-makers.
Fox News: Biden issues message honoring National Police Week; vows 'answer is not to defund,' while pushing gun control
President Biden honored National Police Week and affirmed his stance against defunding the police in a video message, while also touting his administration's gun control successes. He signed the American Rescue Plan, providing $350 billion for states and cities to retain and hire more officers, expand benefits, and keep communities safe. He seeks another $37 billion to hire 100,000 more officers trained in community policing and invest in programs that tackle the root causes of crime. He also addressed families of the fallen, promising that the nation owes officers a debt of gratitude.
Biden signed executive orders to increase background checks for gun purchases and strengthen efforts to hold the gun industry accountable. Critics argued that his executive order on effective, accountable policing aimed to defund the police by giving the executive branch authority to deprive local law enforcement agencies of federal grant money if they did not comply with certain Democratic policies. Biden supports investing in programs that tackle the root causes of crime and providing law enforcement with mental health and wellness resources. He thanked law enforcement and recognized their heroism, selflessness, and absolute courage, promising that the memory of their loved ones will live on.
Fox News: Philadelphia's Democratic primary will likely decide city's next mayor, no apparent favorite at present
Philadelphia's Democratic mayoral primary is set for May 16, 2023. No clear favorite from the top five candidates has emerged yet. The leading progressive candidate, Helen Gym, has been endorsed by Bernie Sanders and is part of the progressive movement that has been energized by recent wins. All of the candidates have prioritized gun violence and public safety as their top concerns. The winning candidate will face lone Republican candidate David Oh in the November general election.
The Epoch Times: Former AOC Staffer Is a Top Official of the New York Communist Party
Justine Medina, a former aide to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is now a senior official in the New York State Communist Party and co-chair of the New York Young Communist League. She has a long history of far-left views and pro-Marxist statements, despite communism's brutal history. Medina's father, who escaped communism in Cuba, called her allegiance to the Communist Party a "big problem." She has also been arrested multiple times during protests and participated in unionizing workers at Amazon.
The Epoch Times: Biden’s Economic Program Is 'Made in China'
President Biden's economic plan aimed to transform the US economy from hydrocarbon-based to green and clean sources. However, his policies have resulted in a stagnant economy, inflation, rising interest rates, and supply chain disruptions. The plan benefits Green-New-Deal grifters, while communist China benefits from the policy's mandate of green products, which ultimately mandate and subsidize Chinese products at the expense of US companies (economy, politics, foreign affairs).
The Epoch Times: Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Dispute Over Trump’s Former DC Hotel
Former President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats are locked in a long-running battle over the former Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C. The case involves a dispute between Democrats and the Trump administration over records related to the hotel, with allegations of corruption surrounding the acquisition of the Old Post Office building. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case, which raises questions about whether individual members of Congress have the right to sue the executive branch to compel it to disclose information. The case is expected to be heard in the court's new term beginning in October.
The Epoch Times: RFK Jr. Claims He Can Beat Joe Biden in 2024 Primary
Democratic presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. believes he could oust President Joe Biden in the party’s 2024 primary elections, citing strong independent and Republican support. Critics have accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of being too committed to Biden’s reelection and refusing to host primary debates. Kennedy, who is known for critical statements on childhood vaccines and other issues, stated that the Democratic Party has become “the party of war, of censorship, [and] of fear,” and has steered its policies on foreign policy towards “warmongering neocons” and domestic policy towards “Wall Street and large corporations.” A survey has also found that some Georgia swing voters who supported Biden in 2020 are disappointed in his administration and may seek third-party alternatives.
The Epoch Times: Planned Parenthood Chief Wants More Justices in Supreme Court
Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson is calling for an expansion of the Supreme Court and term limits, citing attacks on democratic freedoms and abortion rights. This proposal has been opposed by experts, including former Justice Stephen Breyer, who warned that it would reduce trust in the judiciary. President Joe Biden previously stated that he is "not a fan" of adding more seats to the Supreme Court, but has formed a commission to study potential court reforms. The proposal has also been met with opposition from 20 GOP governors. A 2019 poll by Rasmussen Reports found that just 27% of likely voters favored raising the number of Supreme Court justices.
The Epoch Times: Turkey Heads to Runoff Vote After Hard-Fought Presidential, Parliamentary Polls
Turkey's presidential election appears headed to a runoff vote after neither of the top two candidates secured an outright majority. Incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) received around 49% of the vote, while opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu of the People's Republican Party (CHP) obtained around 45%. The Epoch Times: Dutton Makes Bold Move in Catch 22 Budget Reply
Opposition leader Peter Dutton's Budget-in-Reply speech laid out a partial blueprint for a future Coalition government, which faces the challenge of passing the government's reckless spending measures that will result in ongoing deficits. While opposing measures for realpolitik reasons, Dutton had the courage to raise the issue of eligibility and promised to raise the threshold to allow welfare recipients to be engaged in the workforce. Furthermore, Dutton embraced the cost of living issues and tied them to the government's extreme green ideology, calling for cheaper, reliable, and non-emitting energy as a solution. He proposed small modular nuclear energy plants, which could provide much-needed cheaper energy while obviating the need for wind turbines and solar panels. The initiative is offered in the context of reframing the opposition as "Howard's Battlers" and "Tony's Tradies," appealing to hard-working Australians. Dutton also promised that a Coalition government would limit the capacity of the gambling sector to advertise during sports fixtures.

The Blaze: CBS segment pushes insects as 'low-carbon solution to feed animals and the world's population'
CBS Saturday Morning suggests that bugs could be a solution to the global food crisis. Fox News: Dartmouth College discovers indigenous remains in anthropology department, sparking calls for accountability
Partial skeletal remains of 15 Native Americans were discovered at Dartmouth College’s anthropology department. The discovery at the New Hampshire Ivy League school, which was founded in 1769 to educate Native Americans, has strained Dartmouth's relationship with its Native students and alumni. Dartmouth is among a growing list of universities, museums and other institutions wrestling with how best to handle Native American remains and artifacts in their collections and grappling with what these discoveries say about their past policies regarding Native communities.
The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act requires federally funded institutions, including universities, to return remains and funerary items to rightful communities. Museums and universities often hide behind a loophole in NAGPRA that allows them to label remains as culturally unidentifiable putting the burden on tribes to prove the remains are their ancestors, an expense many can’t afford. Some 884,000 Native American artifacts are still in the possession of colleges, museums and other institutions across the country, according to data maintained by the National Park Service.
Fox News: Lawmakers sound off on Anheuser-Busch's declining sales: 'Pissed off a lot of people'
Anheuser-Busch faces declining sales in the wake of partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Conservative commentators called for boycotts resulting in losses for the Bud Light and Budweiser brands. Lawmakers offer their views with some insisting corporations should stick to selling products and developing brands. Others argue that big companies turning against conservative consumers is a risk not worth taking. Representative Nicole Malliotakis suggests Anheuser-Busch should bring back the Budweiser Frogs. The company blamed a "third-party ad agency" for the partnership and cut ties with the influencer amid a marketing shake-up.
Fox News: Young social media influencers lack protections, IL looking to become first state to protect the young stars
Illinois lawmakers have passed a bill aimed at protecting child social media influencers from exploitation. The bill, which would be the first of its kind in the US, would entitle content creators under the age of 16 to a percentage of earnings generated by videos or other content. Vloggers would be required to maintain records and put child earnings into trust accounts until they are 18. A similar law was passed in France last year. Advocacy groups are calling for legislation to be created to ensure child social media stars are protected, amid concerns that they can be overexploited and even harmed.
Human Events: China launches pilot program meant to increase marriage,
childbearing, and family formation
China's Family Planning Association is launching a program in 20 cities to promote a new marriage and childbearing culture. With fertility rates decreasing, the initiative aims to encourage young women to marry and have children. There has also been a push for single, unmarried women to have their eggs frozen. The program wants to promote modern ideas about marriage and childbirth, but also wants to lower the prevalence of outdated customs such as high "bride prices." Gender discrimination, child care expenses and the loss of opportunities are tripwires in China's population growth.

Ownership of the islands has long been contested with China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei claiming control.
China continues to threaten Philippine's sovereignty in the region, maintaining its claim on the disputed South China Sea. In recent years, China has attempted to assert control over the internationally-contested islands by deploying navy and maritime vessels. However, Philippines' President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. asserts Manila's determination to protect its maritime borders and resources, using the buoys as a statement of resolve.
The Epoch Times: Fired ByteDance Exec Claims in Lawsuit That China Has Open Access to US User Data
Chinese government officials had access to all data, including data stored in the United States, at tech company ByteDance, according to a wrongful dismissal lawsuit file in San Francisco Superior Court by former executive Yintao Yu, head of engineering for the parent company of TikTok. Yu also claimed that ByteDance acted as a propaganda tool for the Chinese Communist Party by manipulating content and stealing content from other platforms. He further stated that the CCP had a special unit at ByteDance and maintained access to all company data. Legislation to clamp down on TikTok, which has come under scrutiny in Washington for potential national security concerns, is being considered in the Senate with the RESTRICT Act, proposed by Senators Mark Warner (D-Va.) and John Thune (R-S.D.).

Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka apologized for the nation's 1987 military coup, which led to the exodus of over 12,000 Indian Fijians from the country, ahead of the India-Pacific Islands summit next week. Rabuka, who led the coup, pointed out their "wrongdoings" and acknowledged the pain inflicted upon the Indo-Fijian community, openly requesting forgiveness for his actions. The apology comes a week before the FIPIC summit, which will be attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Joe Biden. Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held talks with Rabuka in Suva in February and has referred to Fiji as an important partner with a historic link.
Modi is seeking to bolster bilateral cooperation with Pacific Island nations amid Beijing's growing influence in the region, while Biden will become the first-ever sitting U.S. president to visit Papua New Guinea. The leaders will discuss cooperation on challenges such as climate change, protecting maritime resources, and advancing economic growth. Rabuka has previously expressed concerns over China's increasing influence in the region, stating that it could reform the peaceful atmosphere.

The Epoch Times: Is Silver Still Undervalued Today?
Is silver undervalued? Yes, because of a large discrepancy between physical supply and overall demand. The value of silver depends on factors like supply and demand, geopolitical events, and economic conditions. Global supply and demand are the most prominent drivers of the price of silver. Industrial demand affects the value of silver significantly, as it's widely used as an industrial metal.
Investors can purchase silver exchange-traded funds, silver mutual funds, silver company stocks, and silver futures instead of physical silver. Silver is less stable than other precious metals, so it's essential to consider your risk appetite before deciding on an investment strategy. The outlook for the future price of silver is good, as under current market forecasts, experts expect to see strong growth in the next five years.
The Epoch Times: Biden Administration and GOP Lawmakers Trade Jabs Over Impending Debt Ceiling Deadline
US Democrats and Republicans are still negotiating over the debt ceiling. While most Democrats favour raising the limit regarding the national debt, some Republicans – including Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) – have hinted that they may allow a default to take place unless spending cuts are agreed upon. The US national debt is a significant $31.3tn, with a potential default on the horizon if a deal is not reached soon.
US administration officials and Congressional lawmakers are currently discussing whether to raise the US national debt limit. With both sides still in negotiations, it remains uncertain whether a deal will be reached soon. If a deal is not agreed upon, a default could occur by early June 2022.

The FBI and local law enforcement have access to the document, but the public has yet to see it.
Former Hamilton County Sheriff James Hammond and the Tennessee Firearms Association are suing for the release of Audrey Hale’s manifesto, which is undergoing review for public release. Spectator USA: The EPA issues a death warrant for fossil fuel plants

There is a current reliability crisis and this proposed regulation will make the entire electrical system more fragile. Urgent resistance is needed.
The Epoch Times: California Condors Confront Bird Flu in Flight From Extinction
The California condor, North America’s largest soaring land bird, is facing a deadly outbreak of avian influenza that could threaten its survival. With less than 350 condors in the wild, breeding-in-captivity and re-wilding programs are essential, with millions of birds dying across the US from avian flu in the past year and a half. The spread of the disease is hampering the condor population’s ability to sustain itself naturally and humans are also to blame for many of the deaths, through actions such as using lead ammunition, which the scavenging birds often consume, leading to illnesses, often fatal.
