Liberty Nation: Elon Picks Establishment Ad-Woman to Run Twitter
Elon Picks Establishment Ad-Woman to Run Twitter
Elon Musk has appointed Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter, which he bought for $44 billion in October 2022. Yaccarino was previously chair for global advertising and partnerships at Comcast's NBCUniversal media conglomerate. However, her appointment has not been well received by some, who believe that she is not an ally to freedom of speech or liberty.

Yaccarino's extracurricular activities, including her role as executive chairman of the World Economic Forum and board membership of The Female Quotient, both seen as representing big government, establishment and anti-freedom groups, along with her support of vaccine mandates, pro-same-sex relationship campaigns and anti-racism efforts, have led to significant criticism of her appointment. Nevertheless, Musk has insisted that he is "adamant about defending free speech."

National Review: DeSantis Builds the Party, while Trump Drains It
DeSantis Builds the Party, while Trump Drains It
Ron DeSantis has been actively supporting other Republicans by raising funds for the party while Donald Trump continues to drain resources from it for his personal gain. In recent fundraising events, DeSantis has helped bring in over $4.3 million for state and local GOP organizations. Everywhere he goes, DeSantis sets attendance records for the local GOP and provides a financial boost for their organizations. In contrast, Trump used a strategy of deceiving donors by promising to use their funds for election integrity and get-out-the-vote efforts, but instead used the money for his personal legal bills and advertising attacks against DeSantis. Trump also refused to spend money on the supposedly crucial election audit in Arizona but spent lavishly from small-dollar donor money on his own legal fees.

DeSantis's generosity in giving his time to raise party money stands in stark contrast to Trump's use of RNC funds for his personal legal bills. Rather than help Republican Senate candidates, Trump's belated and underfunded efforts in 2022 were notably ineffective and cost-inefficient because he waited until late September to create the MAGA Inc. super PAC. Ultimately, the Trump-DeSantis choice isn't just about the two men or their agendas but also about whether the Republican Party's leaders exist to serve the party or whether the party exists to serve one man.

Liberty Nation: Cal Thomas on Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
Cal Thomas on Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
In his recent speech at the launch of his 12th book, A Watchman in the Night, at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC, syndicated columnist Cal Thomas discussed the decline of America. He questioned whether there was sufficient evidence to disprove China's President Xi Jinping's belief that America is in decline and discussed his recent trip to Israel where he was told that someone would need to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb. Thomas also addressed the Biden administration's approach to the Palestinian problem and criticized the moral standards of the secular progressive agenda.

Thomas also discussed the issue of poverty and the failure of the government to address it effectively. He questioned why people are being indoctrinated with secular progressivism in schools and universities, stating that school choice needs to be implemented nationally. He concluded by quoting Bishop Sheffield that only a renovation of the inner man, accompanied by a purging of hearts and souls, could save civilization.

National Review: Lucky and Unlucky Ducks
Lucky and Unlucky Ducks
: Bill Walton, a basketball legend, laments that San Diego is no longer a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful place because of the explosion of homelessness. He calls out the city's current mayor, Todd Gloria, for falling short on the job. Fortunately, there are civic organizations such as the Lucky Duck Foundation that alleviates the suffering of homelessness, particularly among youth and seniors, by providing shelter, meals, coats, job-training programs, and more. The foundation also funds projects that encourage law enforcement to ensure safety and order in the city. Despite the tough nut to crack, the foundation and other knowledgeable people working with them are saving some from despair and defeat caused by homelessness.

Fox News: Ukraine's Zelenskyy pays visit to Pope Francis, Italian officials in Rome before Germany trip
Ukraine's Zelenskyy pays visit to Pope Francis, Italian officials in Rome before Germany trip
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy had a private audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican, where they discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine and the return of tens of thousands of deported Ukrainian children. Zelenskyy also asked the Pope to condemn Russian crimes in Ukraine and proposed joint implementation of the "Peace Formula" for achieving a just peace.

Zelenskyy also met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome, where they emphasized Italy's support for Ukraine's goal of becoming an EU member and for military aid, reconstruction, and humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Meloni said Italy would back Ukraine "360 degrees for all the time necessary and beyond." Zelenskyy later traveled to Berlin, where he was welcomed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who promised ongoing support for Ukraine and announced a new military aid package worth over 2.7 billion euros, including tanks, anti-aircraft systems, and ammunition. Zelenskyy thanked Germany for the largest military aid package since the Russian invasion, saying it brings Ukraine closer to victory.
