Both Trump and DeSantis had planned events in Iowa but were affected by a tornado watch and had to cancel one of the rallies. DeSantis spoke at an event and warned against the "culture of losing" while Trump rescheduled his rally. The two engaged in negative campaigning with Trump using nicknames and running an ad while DeSantis had a sophisticated grace. DeSantis seemed to be successful in Iowa, while Trump promised to return for his rally. Republicans will have to unite behind the chosen candidate after the votes are counted.

The Washington Post's Philip Bump asserts that this is a good thing and counters the argument that the investments were partisan and critical to Biden's success.

Breitbart: ‘Song of the South’ and Disney’s Unconscionable Erasure of James Baskett
Recently, author John Nolte bought a copy of the Disney classic Song of the South (1946) through eBay and found that the movie was everything he remembered it to be. The movie has been blacklisted since 1986 due to racially insensitive portrayal of black characters, but Nolte argues that the movie has progressive themes of racial reconciliation through mutual respect, and that the portrayal was no different from those in other movies of the era. The lead actor, James Baskett, was the first black actor to earn an Academy Award, and the movie had won two other Oscars, but they and the movie itself have been erased from Disney theme parks and home video releases.

The Blaze: Minnesota man convicted of murder for beheading girlfriend in front of several witnesses
A man in Minnesota, Alexis Saborit, has been found guilty of killing his girlfriend, America Thayer, by beheading her with a machete. Several witnesses supposedly saw Saborit attack Thayer with an 8-pound dumbbell before using the machete to decapitate her. The murder occurred as the couple was driving to a court appearance, where Saborit was facing charges that he set fire to their apartment and attacked Thayer when she said she wanted to end the relationship.

Over half of black and Hispanic Chicagoans have witnessed at least one shooting incident by the time they reach 40, compared to 25% of white residents, according to a study by criminologists at the universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and Harvard. A total of 50% of the city's population have encountered gun violence by the time they are 40. On average, people first witness a shooting at 14 years old, and around 7% of black and Hispanic individuals have experienced being shot by the time they reach 40.

Barca's players fled down the tunnel to safety as hooded men attempted to get into the changing rooms. Clashes continued between the enraged Espanyol fans and the Catalan police known as the Mossos d'Esquadra. The incident has been described by Spanish and Catalan media outlets as "horrible", "mad" and "disgraceful". It is expected that Espanyol will be punished for the incident with a fine and being forced to play one or more of their remaining matches behind closed doors.

The bill would cut down the current 20-week abortion ban to 12 weeks, making abortion unavailable or difficult to get for many women, particularly those with lower incomes, who live in rural areas, and who already have limited access to healthcare.
