American Thinker: Something wicked this way comes
The Democrats' governance is destroying America through a four-part strategy that aims to de-police the country, disarm citizens, convert Enterprise America into Welfare America, and implement top-down socialism. This movement, which began with Obama's objective to "fundamentally transform" America, aims to plow through the Constitution by stoking racial animosity, delegitimizing the police and the community, and criminalizing those who step in to defend themselves.
The poster child of this strategy is San Francisco, where mob looting, drug usage, and human waste fill the public spaces, and retailers are moving out. While liberals cling to power and sell out their constituents, conservatives achieve success by discovering needs and filling them with quality products or services at a low price. To stop Democrats' governance and fight for America, we must vote, support the police, and participate in town and school meetings.
American Thinker: Daydreaming the Guns Away
The debate over the 2nd Amendment and gun control is reaching a critical juncture, with legal challenges to aggressive bans on semi-automatic firearms drawing attention. While some dream of an America without private gun ownership, it seems likely that the Supreme Court will eventually rule against wholesale gun bans. However, those who hope to eradicate privately-owned firearms have a champion in Allan Goldstein, who has launched a 50-year plan to repeal the 2nd Amendment. While social problems such as the criminal misuse of firearms are a serious issue in America, attempts to solve such problems through gun control legislation often only serve to punish law-abiding citizens and risk alienating them from their government.
Goldstein’s vision is reminiscent of previous campaigns for legalization, such as the fight for gay rights. While these campaigns often took decades to bear fruit, Goldstein does not acknowledge the fundamental difference between his cause and those of the abolitionists and marijuana users: the latter two affected only a small minority, whereas gun ownership is enshrined in American culture and touches millions of law-abiding citizens. Rather than pursue such drastic measures as gun confiscation, those seeking to address social problems should strive to find solutions that will be respectful of the rights of law-abiding Americans and effective in preventing violent crime.

American Thinker: A Victory for Freedom of Religion
A school board member in Washington County led a motion to terminate the provision of student teachers for the district by Arizona Christian University (ACU) due to the university's values regarding sexual behavior and marriage. The district, which serves Phoenix and Glendale, is the largest in Arizona and ACU had previously provided teachers for eleven years without issue. This led to ACU suing the district for “discriminating against ACU’s religious beliefs on marriage and sexuality, a blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution, along with state law that protects ACU’s religious freedom.” In the end, the district conceded to ACU's case and renewed its teacher contract with the university, with ACU and the Alliance Defending Freedom scoring a major victory.
The LGBTQ community refuses to engage in dialogue with those who do not support their lifestyle, and demands strict compliance to their impositions. They claim exclusive rights over who is allowed to opine on sexuality, identity, and what it means to be an acceptable member of society, and criticism is not a sign of intellectual dissent but of moral reprehensibility. The showdown between Elijah, Israel's prophet of God, and the prophets of Baal and Asherah is a good comparison to the current state of affairs. Just as the forces of darkness offered a counterfeit reality to keep people from coming to a saving knowledge of God through His son Jesus Christ, so are the LGBTQ community and other destructive teachings and policies misleading people. ACU must be commended for having the courage to fight back, and the case stands as a clarion call for God-fearing, patriotic Americans to engage in local politics en masse.
