Fox News: Border agents arrest man on FBI terror watchlist amid migrant influx: CBP sources
An Afghan national on the FBI's terror watchlist was arrested by Border Patrol agents in California after illegally crossing the border along with a group of migrants. The border agents ran a fingerprint scan, which matched with the Terrorist Screening Database and notified the FBI, who is investigating the matter. The arrest happened a day prior to the expiration of Title 42, the COVID-19 emergency policy that allowed border agents to turn away migrants.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., claims that the Biden administration's border policies attract terrorists. He said that the open borders policy is a gateway to illegal immigration, human trafficking, child trafficking, and the deadliest drug crisis in U.S. history, but also an open invitation to the most wanted terrorists to come to America, knowing that they will never have to leave. Issa's office confirmed the arrest with the local CBP.
Breitbart: El Paso Bishop: Immigrants Are ‘Our Lost Brothers and Sisters’
- The head of the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Immigration, Bishop Mark Seitz, has urged the United States to welcome migrants at the border as “long-lost” brothers and sisters showing up at our door. He has sent an open letter to Congress urging opposition to the Secure the Border Act of 2023 as it continues the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall which Seitz stridently opposes. He claimed xenophobia, institutionalized racism, and white privilege as the driving forces behind the wall construction, calling it a “monument to hate” and a symbol of exclusion. Seitz has called on the El Paso community to live up to its reputation of welcome and hospitality and has opened four parish-based shelters for the immigrants.

The Right Scoop: BREAKING: Border Patrol catches Afghan terrorist crossing Biden’s border illegally
An Afghan national on the FBI's terror watchlist was arrested by Border Patrol agents in San Diego sector after crossing illegally with a group of migrants near Otay Mesa, leading to an FBI-led investigation. Despite this, concerns remain about how many others have entered without being caught due to vast stretches of border being unguarded and unpatrolled. Trump's former senior advisor, Stephen Miller, highlights the high number of "got aways" who have passed through unimpeded.

The Economist: Recep Tayyip Erdogan leads his challenger as Turkey votes
Turkey's presidential elections have resulted in a likely run-off between current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu, with Erdogan currently leading but not reaching the necessary victory margin of 50% plus one vote in the first round. The parliamentary election is also looking bad for the opposition, despite a turnout of more than 88% of eligible voters. The stakes in the election include determining the direction of Turkey's foreign policy, relationship with Russia, and shape of its economy, as well as upholding the current constitution, which allows Erdogan to keep state institutions under his control.
Breitbart: Hogan: DeSantis Trying to Be a Younger, Smarter Version of Trump Won't Work
Former Governor Larry Hogan criticized Governor Ron DeSantis for trying to be a younger, smarter version of former President Donald Trump, saying it won't work with voters in the 2024 election. Hogan stated that some candidates need to step up and make the case about why the Republican Party must move on from Trump, and taking on Trump means more than just being a younger, smarter version of him.
Front Page Magazine: Muslims Brawl Over Democrat Nomination in Minneapolis
A Democratic endorsing convention in Minneapolis turned violent when supporters of an insurgent candidate stormed the stage, leading to brawls and injuries. The chaos started with boos as incumbent Ward 10 Councilmember Aisha Chughtai and her team took the stage at the Ella Baker Global Studies & Humanities Magnet School, hoping to obtain the endorsement of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Supporters of challenger Nasri Warsame aggressively rushed towards Chughtai's supporters, forming a mosh, and the clash between teams bled onto the stage. Cops said at least one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while another was treated at the scene. Warsame blamed Chughtai for the incident, while Chughtai alleged that Warsame punched multiple women of color and shoved and harassed LGBTQIA2S+ delegates and supporters. However, Minneapolis Police declined to make any arrests despite reports of fights and injuries.

Forbes: Are “Free” Online Services VAT Free?
The question of whether "free" online services, which rely on personal data for revenue, should be subject to value-added tax (VAT) has been raised. While VAT applies to supplies of goods and services performed by a taxable person for consideration, the direct link between services provided and consideration received has been debated, with some arguing that the right to use personal data, rather than the individual data itself, should constitute the consideration. The potential VAT obligations for users who continuously use "free" online services have also been considered, with the EU VAT law stating that the exploitation of intangible property to generate income on a continuing basis is considered an economic activity.
