The Epoch Times: Biden Admin Seeks to Resume Fast-Track Release of Illegal Immigrants
The Biden administration has requested a federal judge to lift an order that has suspended the fast-track release of illegal immigrants into the US. The suspension was due to a temporary restraining order issued by Judge T. Kent Wetherell II against the administration's new parole policy, which would replace Title 42, a measure that allows for the immediate expulsion of illegal border crossers to Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wetherell also blocked another U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) parole known as “Parole + Alternatives to Detention (ATD)” in a separate case. The government has filed a notice to appeal in 21-cv-01066 and will appeal two rulings by the court by May 15 at the U.S. 11th Circuit Court.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody stated that the Biden administration is trying to continue an “unlawful policy” and that the federal government knew for some time that it intended to end Title 42 and increase the inflow of unlawful migrants at the border. The move comes at a time when the US is facing a surge of illegal migrants from Haiti, where a political crisis, gang violence, and natural disasters have caused widespread despair. The situation is an additional challenge for the Biden administration, which is already under criticism for its handling of the situation at the US-Mexico border.

Newsbusters: Cluelessly Snobbish CNN Employees Vs. America
CNN employees were angered by the network's decision to host a town hall with former president Donald Trump, becoming vocal on public forums. The event was held in New Hampshire in front of an audience of New Hampshire residents and was largely seen as a success by Trump supporters and his team. However, some CNN employees disagreed on the decision, but CNN CEO Chris Licht praised the team for their 'masterful performance' and later told staff that it was their job to provide news, even if they did not like the former president's answers.
The public disagreement among CNN staff about hosting Trump highlights the issue of media bias, and the arrogance of elitist media insiders, who may be manipulating news and not serving the interest of the American people. This instance also brings to light the omission/commission game of the liberal media, where they may choose to omit news that they find inconvenient for their political agenda or commission biased stories. This is indicative of a problem between the liberal media and America, beyond this particular CNN town hall with Trump, and highlights a serious concern.

Cities in Canada celebrate the 31st anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day by raising flags and illuminating landmarks. Although banned in China, Falun Gong continues to receive recognition globally, with events held in over 110 countries. Over a dozen MPs from the Conservative, Liberal, and Green Parties sent letters or videos of greetings to honour the occasion, along with 36 cities and municipalities in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. The Epoch Times: AI Stocks Prevented S&P 500 Being in the Red: SocGen Analyst
AI stocks have been performing well in the US stock market this year, with major tech firms involved in AI technologies experiencing rallies. According to a Societe Generale analyst, the AI hype is so strong that the S&P 500 would be down 2% this year without AI-popular stocks. While many investors are interested in AI stocks, there are concerns about a potential bubble in the sector as some small firms have seen their stock values surge after entering the limelight.
Beyond boosting stock performances, major players in the AI space such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Nvidia are integrating AI technologies into their operations and offerings. However, there are questions around the usage of cutting-edge techniques and whether the potential of AI can ever be monetized. Despite these concerns, AI has been a hot talking point among S&P 500 firms, with over a fifth of them mentioning “artificial intelligence” or “AI” in their analyst conference calls in Q1 2021.
Forbes: Why Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt Is Betting Big On The $1T US Bioeconomy
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt spoke at the SynBioBeta conference last year, advocating for the fast-growing US bioeconomy, which is valued at over $1T. He urged the next generation of biotechnologists to fulfill the potential of the global bioeconomy to solve the world's biggest problems and make it a phenomenon worth 4-30 trillion dollars. Schmidt stressed the need for the US to build a national, shared infrastructure to boost the domestic bioeconomy and create jobs across several industries.
Schmidt also emphasized the importance of collaboration and diversity, calling on the next generation of synthetic biologists to see their competitors not only as opponents but as partners too. He highlighted the collaboration model in the BioMADE ecosystem and noted the value of developing an AI-biology symbiosis to drive the process of scientific discovery. Schmidt's insights on advancing the bioeconomy and the power of collaboration and diversity are crucial for growth in these industries to improve the human condition.
Forbes: Eric Schmidt On Synthetic Biology, AI, Ethics And The Bioeconomy’s ‘Seismic Shift’
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt spoke at the SynBioBeta conference about his passion for the bioeconomy and the advances in synthetic biology that he finds most exciting. He notes that the use of AI in scientific research is still in the early stages, but he believes it can accelerate progress in the biomedical, agricultural, and industrial sectors. Schmidt also highlights the need for greater collaboration between different sectors and disciplines in the biotech industry and points to the BioMADE ecosystem as a successful example.
Schmidt believes that ethical considerations are important in the biotech industry, particularly when it comes to building public trust and confidence in new technologies. He sees similarities between the debates over biotechnology and AI and notes that both require a hard look at the associated ethical, legal, social, and environmental conditions. Schmidt is optimistic about the impact of the Biden Administration's recent executive order and pledge to advance biotechnology and biomanufacturing on the SynBio space and notes that there have been notable developments in biotechnology for addressing the climate crisis, particularly in industry.

WND: Planned Parenthood promoter Gwyneth Paltrow recalls 'shock' of sex ed ideology
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow was shocked by the explicit content her children were taught in sex education classes at their Los Angeles elementary school. Paltrow stated that her sixth-grade children were taught “everything,” leaving them and their friends in shock and asking if "people do this?" Despite her personal discomfort with the approach, Paltrow has been a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood, which promotes explicit sex education materials to children.
Planned Parenthood’s sex education programs and staff have stirred up numerous controversies over the years and have been criticized for promoting explicit content to minors. A Planned Parenthood-backed sex education program in Oregon recently drew criticisms for asking kids to write about their personal sexual fantasies, while the organization’s affiliated websites AMAZE and AMAZE Jr promote sex, contraception, masturbation, and abortion to children as young as four.

The Federalist Papers: Incredible Video Shows Helicopter Rescue Teen Missing for Days in Glacier National Park
A 19-year-old hiker who went missing in Glacier National Park, Montana, has been rescued by a team using infrared technology. Matthew Read was reported "overdue" by his parents on Sunday, and a search by aerial team began on the same day, but low visibility made it difficult to find him. By Monday evening, however, the helicopter rescue team had discovered him, no longer able to move properly but "somewhat responsive". He was taken by hoist to Evergreen Ambulance and then to hospital, where he was declared to be in a stable condition.
Read was said to have been on the Huckleberry Lookout Trail when he was last heard from on 5 May. Losing his phone, shoes and water bottle during his fall into a snow-filled drainage ditch, his slide marks and footprints were spotted by the rescue team. Both local and national organisations were involved in an extensive search effort, including those from Glacier National Park, Flathead County Sheriff's Office, and US Customs and Border Protection.
