Fox News: Biden gets honorary degree from Howard University, heads to beach house amid border crisis
Biden gets honorary degree from Howard University, heads to beach house amid border crisis
Biden gave a speech at a Black university, then went to his Delaware home. He said the debt ceiling talks were progressing, but didn't mention the migrant crisis at the southern border.

The Title 42 public health order that allowed for the rapid expulsion of migrants at the border expired, causing a surge in migrants. Biden did not address this crisis in his speech.

Defiant America: Is He Checking His Diaper? Biden Is Having Trouble Sitting Still This Morning (Video)
Is He Checking His Diaper? Biden Is Having Trouble Sitting Still This Morning (Video)
President Biden delivered a speech at Howard University's graduation ceremony, where he will receive an honorary Doctor of Letters. However, before the speech, a video circulated online where people claimed he was checking his diaper. The speech itself touched on topics such as white supremacy being the most significant terrorist threat to the United States.

Biden's approval rating is currently at 40%, according to a recent poll from Reuters. He will remain in Washington, D.C., until May 16th before traveling to Japan and later to Australia for the G-7 Summit.

The Federalist Papers: Amid Out of Control Crime, Open Borders, Overseas Instability, Biden Claims White Supremacy ‘Most Dangerous Terrorist Threat’
Amid Out of Control Crime, Open Borders, Overseas Instability, Biden Claims White Supremacy ‘Most Dangerous Terrorist Threat’
Biden claimed at Howard University that white supremacy is the most dangerous terrorist threat to the US, despite a host of more pressing issues facing the country, including economic instability, inflation, immigration, and international tensions. Some believe that Biden is using white supremacy as a political tool rather than addressing genuine needs. Furthermore, the president's fearmongering detracts from the more tangible and immediate issues that affect ordinary Americans, many argue.

Biden's focus on white supremacy raises the question of whether it is a genuine concern or a political narrative pushed to distract from other failings. Rather than fanning the flames of division and making thinly-veiled remarks about his predecessor, Biden would do better to prioritize pressing issues. In a time of significant challenges on multiple fronts, it is essential to focus on the most pressing issues facing the nation.

The Right Scoop: CNN boss SCOLDS media reporter for being too emotional during Trump coverage
CNN boss SCOLDS media reporter for being too emotional during Trump coverage
CNN's reporter Oliver Darcy was scolded by his boss Chris Licht for his emotional coverage of the network's town hall with former President Trump. Licht received messages from CNN staffers appalled by Darcy's newsletter, which emphasized how CNN and Licht were facing a tense backlash "internally" and externally. Licht told Darcy that non-emotional coverage should be applied to all news outlets, not just CNN.

Darcy stood by his work and pushed back on the emotional characterization, but afterward, he was described as visibly shaken. Darcy was part of the outrage crowd decrying CNN for putting Trump on the air for his hour-long town hall. Licht is taking this kind of editorial control of his reporters, unlike the New York Times who would have let triggered reporters cry about how the network gave Trump airtime to destroy democracy.

Fox News: North Carolina governor vetoes abortion bill, but GOP legislature may override
North Carolina governor vetoes abortion bill, but GOP legislature may override
North Carolina's Republican-led legislation to limit abortions to 12 weeks has been vetoed by Democratic Governor Roy Cooper. The bill was vetoed in a pro-choice rally outside the North Carolina Legislative Building. Republican lawmakers plan to override the governor's veto with an override motion.

Cooper called on Republicans to keep their promise to protect women's reproductive health and urged supporters to make calls, write letters and send emails to make sure the veto was sustained. The legislature building saw an hours-long debate during which Democrats unsuccessfully attempted several parliamentary maneuvers to send the measure back to committee.

WATCH: Biden Decries White Suprmacy™ in Commencement Speech at Historically Black College
Brandon, who previously claimed that black people who don't vote for him "ain't black," gave a lecture at historically black Howard University in Washington, D.C. Biden, on the other hand, condemned supposed white supremacy in America during a speech at an event. However, there is little evidence to support claims of widespread white supremacist violence, while FBI crime statistics show that black people are overrepresented in every category of violent crime.

The Epoch Times: States Face Budgetary Pressure Amid Weaker April Income Tax Revenues
States Face Budgetary Pressure Amid Weaker April Income Tax Revenues
Several US states are feeling the pressure brought on by lower income tax revenues in April, compared to 2021; however, Fitch Ratings says most are on track to meet or exceed their end-of-year budget projections due to conservative revenue assumptions and prior-year surpluses that raised reserves. April is a significant month for tax-related revenues, with last year's performance, resulting in significant budget surpluses for several states. States anticipated dwindling tax revenues, due to a slowing economy and poor capital market performance. These states employed surplus revenues from previous years to strengthen their reserves, mitigating potential risks and stabilising state ratings.

Almost all states that have reported April tax receipts have seen drops in year-over-year declines impacting many state budgets. However, Fitch expects states to handle the challenge by increasing revenues from other tax categories and by adopting financial resilience measures. While the Fed's recession probability has risen to 68.2%, the New York Fed's recession risk indicator is at its highest since 1982. Notably, most Americans in a recent poll have negative views of the current economic environment and believe that the US has either already fallen into a recession or is heading towards one.

Forbes: How Would Kim Min-Jae Improve Manchester United’s Defence?
How Would Kim Min-Jae Improve Manchester United’s Defence?
Kim Min-jae, the South Korean defender who has become a superstar in Serie A after moving to Napoli last year, is attracting interest from Manchester United. The 26-year-old's physicality has drawn comparisons with former United centre back Nemanja Vidic, and his strong performances have been a crucial part of Napoli's Serie A title win this season. United are looking for more steel at the back and have been linked with a move for Kim as part of their summer recruitment drive.

Although the club's immediate priority is finding a new number nine, they also need reinforcements in other areas, especially with the recent injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane. Kim would provide a solid option for the centre back position and his signing would help prevent United from suffering another drop-off in the event of injuries. It could also be seen as a succession plan for Varane, who, although still in good form, is now 30 years old.
