Fox News: YouTube daredevil arrested by Indian authorities after visiting remote island where US missionary was killed
Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, a 24-year-old YouTube influencer from Arizona, was arrested for attempting to make illegal contact with the indigenous Sentinelese people on North Sentinel Island. He allegedly offered a coconut and Diet Coke as offerings and recorded his actions with a GoPro camera.
Contact with the Sentinelese is strictly prohibited due to their protected status. Polyakov's actions have drawn criticism, especially in light of a previous incident in 2018 when an American missionary was killed while trying to contact the tribe. He is currently in judicial custody.
