Le Monde: Polar-orbiting planet discovered in a binary star system
Astronomers have discovered an exoplanet, '2M1510 (AB) b,' orbiting at a 90-degree angle around a pair of brown dwarfs, marking the first solid evidence of a perpendicular orbit in a binary star system. This rare find was made using the Very Large Telescope in Chile.
The brown dwarf pair, which eclipses each other from Earth's perspective, is only the second of its kind known. The findings were published in Science Advances on April 16.
