GB News: 'Serious questions to answer!' Toby Carvey sparks criminal damage row after admitting to chopping down 450-year-old oak tree
'Serious questions to answer!' Toby Carvey sparks criminal damage row after admitting to chopping down 450-year-old oak tree
An ancient oak tree, approximately 450 years old, was illegally felled near a Toby Carvery restaurant in Whitewebbs Park, Enfield. The tree, one of London's largest, was cut down on April 3, prompting outrage from local residents and conservationists, who deemed it ecologically significant.

Mitchells & Butlers, the restaurant's owner, claimed the tree was dead and posed safety risks, but experts from the Woodland Trust contradicted this assertion. Enfield Council has reported the incident to the Metropolitan Police and placed a legal protection order on the stump, which is now treated as a crime scene.

The Federalist: Scientists: Doctors Give Kids ADHD Drugs For Adults' Convenience
Scientists: Doctors Give Kids ADHD Drugs For Adults' Convenience
The U.S. medical system has seen a dramatic rise in ADHD diagnoses and stimulant prescriptions, particularly among children and adults, despite a lack of clear evidence supporting ADHD as a biological condition. Studies indicate that many children taking medications like Ritalin do not show long-term academic improvement and may experience growth issues.

Critics argue that ADHD is often misdiagnosed and that symptoms may stem from environmental factors rather than a medical disorder. The emphasis on medication over addressing underlying emotional or social issues is seen as detrimental, particularly in a school system that may not cater to boys' needs.

Nvidia Falls In Premarket—After Projecting $5.5 Billion Blow From New Restrictions On AI Chip Exports To China
Nvidia's shares dropped over 7% in premarket trading after the U.S. government mandated a special license for the company to export its H20 AI chips to China, impacting its projected earnings by $5.5 billion for Q1 of fiscal 2026. This follows CEO Jensen Huang's recent fundraising dinner with Trump, which had temporarily delayed such restrictions.

Despite plans to invest in U.S. manufacturing, including new factories in Houston and Dallas, the administration has decided to enforce the licensing requirement indefinitely, citing concerns over potential use in Chinese supercomputers. Lawmakers from both parties had advocated for these export controls.
