The Telegraph: Ukraine destroys Russian helicopters with Himars missile strike
Ukraine destroyed four Russian helicopters using US-made Himars missiles shortly before peace talks between Moscow and Washington. The strikes targeted two Ka-52 and two Mi-8 helicopters in Russia's Belgorod region, demonstrating Ukraine's operational reach despite previous intelligence sharing issues.
The attacks coincided with renewed diplomatic efforts, as US officials sought a ceasefire and discussed verification measures and peacekeeping. While Russia claimed to have thwarted a Ukrainian incursion, Ukraine denied these assertions, indicating ongoing tensions amid the talks.

Fox News: Clean air mandates exacerbating dearth in gas tax revenues used for roads, bridges, infrastructure: Expert
States are facing significant budget shortfalls for infrastructure maintenance due to declining gas tax revenues, exacerbated by mandates for electric vehicles (EVs). For instance, Oregon anticipates a $350 million shortfall, while California could lose $5 billion over the next decade as gas tax revenues drop with increased EV sales.
Experts suggest various solutions to address the revenue loss, including increased registration fees for EVs and potential taxes on EV charging stations. There is also discussion about the need to amend federal fuel economy standards, but raising the federal gas tax is not favored. The ongoing transition to EVs is creating challenges for state funding of essential infrastructure.

GB News: Scientists find alarming link between diabetes and liver cancer - hiking risk fivefold
Research from the University of Manchester indicates that individuals with type 2 diabetes face significantly higher risks of developing lethal cancers, particularly among women. Women diagnosed with type 2 diabetes have nearly double the risk of pancreatic cancer and almost five times the risk of liver cancer compared to those without diabetes.
Men also experience increased cancer risks, with a 74% rise in pancreatic cancer and nearly quadrupled liver cancer risk within five years of diagnosis. The study highlights that while some obesity-related cancers show increased risk, others, like endometrial and post-menopausal breast cancer, do not. The findings suggest that high insulin levels and chronic inflammation may contribute to this cancer-diabetes link.
