GB News: Two-tier justice row takes new turn as police chiefs accuse officers of 'bias' and plan 'anti-racism league tables'
The National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) is set to release a report urging police forces in England and Wales to adopt anti-racist practices, addressing racial bias and "adultification bias" that affects Black youths. The initiative follows the Black Lives Matter protests and aims to promote racial equity in policing.
Concerns have been raised about the implications of the report, with critics arguing it may lead to differential treatment based on ethnicity, undermining the principle of equal justice. The NPCC plans to implement a "maturity matrix" to measure progress in anti-racism efforts, focusing particularly on the experiences of Black communities.

Fox News: Utah nurse accused of murder, faking patient's terminal cancer diagnosis to claim $1M insurance policy: report
A registered nurse, Meggan Randall Sundwall, was arrested for aggravated murder after allegedly convincing her patient, Kacee Lyn Terry, that she had terminal cancer and injecting her with a fatal dose of insulin to collect a $1.5 million life insurance policy. Terry was found unresponsive in August 2024, and investigations revealed she had no cancer or major health issues.
Evidence indicated Sundwall had been plotting Terry's death for years, with over 28,000 texts between them discussing various methods of killing herself if she were in Terry's position. Following Terry's death, Sundwall deleted numerous texts and searched for the life insurance policy. She is currently held without bail.
