Openreach and Nokia have tested a new technology that delivers broadband speeds of up to 41.9Gbps. This speed could change how people access the internet, allowing HD movies to be downloaded in less than a second.

The trial used existing fibre-optic infrastructure, showing it can meet the increasing demand for faster internet. Openreach plans to make these speeds available to customers across different brands, aiming for a future-proof broadband service in the UK.
