French President Emmanuel Macron hosted a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris. The talks focused on global tensions, the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, and trade, coinciding with the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Trump praised his past relationship with Macron, recalling solidarity during the Notre-Dame fire in 2019. His return to power has raised concerns in Europe, particularly regarding his stance on U.S. military support for Ukraine.
Breitbart: Iran and Hezbollah Struggle to Support Assad as Jihadi Rebels Push Toward Damascus
Iran plans to send missiles, drones, and military advisers to Syria as rebel forces advance against Assad's regime. Tehran is also providing intelligence and satellite support. The situation in Homs is critical, with rebels nearing the city, prompting mass evacuations of residents.

Le Monde: Putin can't help Assad's regime as Syrian rebels continue lighting advance
Islamist rebels from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have rapidly advanced in Syria, capturing Aleppo and Hama, and threatening Homs and Damascus. The Russian military, once dominant in the region, appears unable to effectively counter this offensive due to a lack of ground intelligence and the rebels' newfound anti-aircraft capabilities.
The situation marks a significant shift in power dynamics, as Russia's military intervention in 2015 had previously bolstered Bashar al-Assad's regime. With Russian bases now at risk and ineffective airstrikes against HTS, the conflict's landscape is changing dramatically.
