Times Of Israel: Egyptian envoys said to visit Israel to discuss ceasefire, as IDF pushes on in Gaza
Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip continue as Egyptian and Qatari mediators attempt to negotiate a new ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terror group. Egypt is exploring the possibility of Israel completely withdrawing from areas in the Gaza Strip in exchange for a comprehensive agreement. Internal consultations are ongoing between Palestinian factions to secure a prisoner exchange deal and ceasefir. The IDF's offensive has resulted in the deaths of Hamas commanders and the destruction of military buildings and infrastructure in Gaza. The IDF does not expect to fully eliminate Gaza-based terror groups' rocket-launching capabilities. Shortages of food, water, fuel, and medicine continue to worsen in Gaza, and the region is "just weeks away" from a famine, according to the UN.
