GB News: Three women die after eating 'toxic' Christmas cake made by family member as police launch probe
Three family members in Brazil died after consuming a Christmas cake suspected to contain arsenic during a family gathering. The victims, aged 43, 58, and 65, suffered fatal cardiac arrests and shock from food poisoning, while others, including a 10-year-old, remain hospitalized.
Police are investigating the incident, including plans to exhume the body of the cake maker's husband, who died of food poisoning in September. They found expired food items and a suspicious medicine bottle at the scene, but have not determined if the poisoning was intentional.
