Labour plans to introduce GP hubs, called neighbourhood health centres, in an effort to improve access to healthcare and alleviate pressure on overloaded A&E units. The centres would provide a range of services, including doctors, dentists, and treatment of minor injuries, and operate during evenings and weekends. This model is based on the system being implemented in Australia, where urgent care clinics are being established to bring health services together in one place.
