The Telegraph: World’s deadliest spider just got larger
A new, larger and more venomous species of funnel-web spider has been discovered in Australia, named the Newcastle funnel-web. This spider can grow over 9cm long, significantly larger than typical males, which average 2.5cm.
A record-breaking specimen was recently captured and presented to the Australian Reptile Park, named Hemsworth after actor Chris Hemsworth. Spider experts are intrigued by its size compared to other species in the Atrax genus.
