Initially set to expire, the program has helped more than 10,000 households find temporary shelter. Many have since transitioned to longer-term housing solutions, while local shelters and nonprofits continue to support those not covered by FEMA.

Blinken to unveil Gaza ‘day-after’ plan in speech sparking division within Biden admin
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to announce a plan for post-war Gaza management, addressing governance, security, and reconstruction. This plan aims to facilitate negotiations on a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas. Internal divisions within the Biden administration have raised concerns about the timing of the speech.

The plan envisions a reformed Palestinian Authority leading Gaza's governance, which could pave the way for a two-state solution. However, Prime Minister Netanyahu has resisted PA involvement, fearing it may complicate hostage negotiations. The US maintains that PA participation is essential for garnering support from Arab allies.
