The Telegraph: Italian pensioner fought off killer shark by poking its eyes
A 69-year-old Italian tourist, Peppino Fappani, fought off a tiger shark while trying to save another swimmer at a resort in Egypt. He repeatedly jabbed the shark in the eyes, but it persisted in its attack until rescuers arrived with a dinghy.
Fappani described the harrowing experience, stating the shark clung to his leg as he was being pulled to safety.
