Democrats have charged the 2024 Republican presidential front-runner with 91 state and federal crimes in order to prevent Donald Trump from returning to the Oval Office. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was the first prosecutor to indict Trump, with charges related to hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels in 2016. New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a $250 million fraud suit against Trump, accusing him of inflating corporate assets. Judge Arthur Engoron, a Democrat, presides over James' civil lawsuit against Trump and issued a gag order against the former president. Special counsel Jack Smith is leading federal efforts to convict Trump on charges related to classified documents and the Capitol riot. Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, is presiding over the Jan. 6 case against Trump and has been tough on the defendants. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has charged Trump and 18 allies for their actions during the 2020 election, despite possessing evidence that exonerates Georgia's alternate electors.

In the late 1800s, the Osage Nation became wealthy from their oil royalties, but also became targets. From the 1910s-30s, nearly 60 Osage members were murdered by non-natives seeking their oil money. Martin Scorsese's movie "Killers of the Flower Moon" explores the Reign of Terror. However, the film fails to address the government's role in triggering the murders and continues to oppress the Osage, limiting their ability to extract oil. The Osage want energy independence, but face red tape and overbearing regulations from the federal government. They desire freedom from the government's chokehold.
